Hey you guys, welcome back to The Longevity Vet. I'm glad you're here. I'm Dr. Kevin Toman, and today we're taking a quick look at the best joint supplements for pets. The question of the day is this: do glucosamine chondroitin supplements actually work? And spoiler alert, the answer is no. Scientific studies in both humans and pets show little benefit with glucosamine chondroitin products. What does work to help reduce joint pain in our pets? Fish oil works, CBD works, green-lipped mussel works, MSM works, and the very best joint supplement is undenatured type 2 collagen, or UC2, and I'm happy to send that your way. Setting supplements aside, you should recognize that the very best way to help your pet's pain is to reduce their body weight. Make them as slim as possible because every pound counts. Eliminate their stares and their jumping or twisting behavior, and here's the bottom line: use drugs. No pet should be painful if we can avoid it. I'm Dr. Kevin Toman, and we'll see you next week.
