Vanessa Van Edwards teaches how to use eye movement to project confidence when entering a room. Instead of darting eyes, use a slow sweeping gaze across the space, then hold a steady look at the person you want to connect with. This signals intention and calm to everyone watching.

There's my friend. I'm coming to you. I'm coming to you. I'm coming to you. This also has a great signal for your person. So I look purposeful to them, I look purposeful to others, and I also avoid that darting eyes. When most people walk into a room, they try to take in as much as possible. So you get that darting eyes look or the deer in the headlights. So I want to make sure that your gaze is also purposeful along with your walk. So the way that I want you to sweep a room is to sweep a room with your gaze. Sweeping gaze is a slow methodical look around the room. Start at the moment you enter a room because it will give you even more purpose. Bonus points if you can add that calm, serene feeling to your face. I'll do a slow, quick scan, and then when I see the object of my purpose, that's when I make a long, prolonged gaze towards them. This is going to channel your confidence.
