Vanessa Van Edwards stops writing mid-sentence each day so she can pick up the thread the next morning without losing momentum. She writes from 9-10 am, takes a break around 2 pm, and always does quick research before starting something new.

What does a good writing day look like for you, and how do you recognize it when it's happening?
My good writing day starts the last 30 minutes of the day before. I like to end mid-sentence or mid-thought. I find that if I end a writing day with a punctuation mark, you know, like, okay, like, that chapter is done, or that idea is said, the next morning is like starting energy that is required is so much harder because you're like, oh, new chapter, new page, new concept, new idea. If I have done a good job the day before, try to like stop mid-sentence. Of something that I'm in flow with, because then my perfect writing day is I'm like, oh yeah, yeah, right where I was in flow yesterday, I'm just picking it right back up. Like, I can even just finish this sentence. So first hour or two is like flow. 9, 10 o'clock, and I'm like, okay, finish the concept, grab a coffee or a matcha, and then I'm allowed to start a new concept. Usually to start writing for me, um, like a new idea or concept, I have to do a little bit of research first and then right back into it. And then usually I'm done by like 2.
