A mom found an entrepreneurship book meant for college students and it changed her life. The speaker realized his real audience was mothers, not students. He calls out the gap: husbands say they support their wives' businesses but then resist emotionally and financially, and most business advice ignores this reality.

I got a call from a mother once. I had my books out there of one of these students who had purchased a toilet paper entrepreneur book but left at home and never read it. So the mother of this student started flipping through and like, oh, this is pretty good. She called me. At first, I rejected the thought that a mom entrepreneur would want my book. But by the second or third person calling or contacted me via email and saying, you wrote your book for me, I was like, oh, my niche has found me. I thought it was college students. It's mom entrepreneurs. I asked them. It was fascinating. So this book is admittedly a little sophomore. Why would you resonate with this? They said, this is the first time a male author is not pandering to the female audience. I'm like, wow. I'm like, I didn't even really realize guys do that. Why would anyone pander an entrepreneur's entrepreneur? And as I learned, no. A lot of male speakers, intentionally or otherwise, pander to the audience, like, oh, sweetheart, you can do this. Good luck. You got this. They don't mean it. I believe in female entrepreneurs. Believe in male. I believe in entrepreneur, period. I asked also, I said, well, why would you consume books? And the common feedback was, I'm starting a business because my children are in school now, and this has always been my dream. My partner, often a husband at home, is a verbal supporter, like, go for it, but an emotional detractor, like, but you're screwing us. Go for it. Because it's your dream, sweetie. But there goes our vacation money. You're killing us. I gotta fund you. So they're like, the male counterpart is in this weird, duplicitous kind of relationship with me. I just need someone that believes in me and give me support and guidance. And your book's doing it.
