3 things you're probably doing wrong when you're taking fish oil. Number 1, you're taking it on an empty stomach. Omega-3s need dietary fat to be absorbed well. So if you take it with a meal that actually has some fat in it, like eggs, avocado, olive oil, it's gonna absorb and be utilized much better by your body. Secondly, if you're taking the whole serving of fish oil at once, you are also doing yourself a disservice. My serving, for example, which is with Legion's Triton, is 4 capsules. I like to do 2 at breakfast and 2 at dinner. Splitting the dose doesn't necessarily help with absorption per se, but it does help with digestion and preventing the fish burps. And 3, if you're keeping this on the shelf and it's exposed to sunlight or variable temperatures, then you're degrading the quality of your fish oil and it is making the fish oil go rancid. Rancid fish oil is actually worse than no fish oil at all. It can actually cause inflammation. If you are just starting your fish oil journey, make sure to take in these 3 tips and give it about 3 to 4 months for a benefit. It takes some time for your omega-3 levels to respond. Cheers.
