Your beliefs are not you. Beliefs possess you. As children, we have a meaning making machine. The wrong word from the people we look up to can completely set us down the wrong path. You are so dumb. A mom might say accidentally. And this can cause incredibly bad beliefs that later emerge in adulthood. But you can swap out outdated beliefs and replace them with healthy beliefs. So as we grow up, it's not just our parents, it's our politics, it's our spirituality, it's our emotions, it's our myths, it's. It's our rituals, it's our songs, it's our stories. But in today's world, being interconnected, we should be able to see that so much of these are myths. They are not real. They're cultural programming. To be truly free, you have to question your politicians, question the media. You need to be able to look at things from multiple viewpoints. Read the news in America, but read the news in Europe and read the news in Asia. Try to understand different viewpoints, talk to people, travel, get out of your goddarn bubbles. Because our bubbles keep us safe, but they also limit us in terms of expressing who we really are.
