They are literally creating fake bottles and putting in fake capsules and pretending to be those companies. It's real.
So I'm guilty of ordering supplements on Amazon. It's convenient, it shows up. But I recently read though that there can be scams on there. The supplements you're buying may not actually include all of the active ingredients listed. Is that true?
Very true. So probably about a third of the products on Amazon have proprietary blends and so those are scams. Secondly, there's a lot of counterfeit products on Amazon from some of the biggest and best brands. Thirdly, Now Foods tested a number of the supplements, these single ingredient products. Looking at berberine, astaxanthin, curcumin, there was about 13 different ingredients that they looked at and they tested every single ingredient company on Amazon. What they found on average across these 13 different tests was that about 80% of of these supplements did not meet the label claim for the active ingredient and about 20% on average had no active at all.
What?
Yeah. So my recommendation one, watch the Mindvalley supplements quest. Two, definitely think about what you're buying on Amazon. Buy the best brands. Try and buy first party, not third party. For example, if Now Foods sells on Amazon, buy from Now Foods as the seller or trusted seller seller. And definitely avoid proprietary blends.
