Can The Mind Influence Time?

Vishen Lakhiani argues the mind can slow aging and speed progress toward goals through identity upgrading. He cites Paramahansa Yogananda and the Silva Method, which claims visualization can produce physical changes. Lakhiani promotes his Mindvalley masterclass and book The Buddha and the Badass for learning these techniques.

I'm fascinated by time. How can you speed up time or maybe even slow down time or reverse time? Now I believe that our human minds have a profound effect on time. We can slow down our aging and we can speed up or accelerate our progress towards our goals. The secret is a concept I call identity upgrading. So I study from a lot of different spiritual teachers. If you've been following me, you know that I travel the world seeking out mentors and teachers. And what you're going to learn here comes from a variety of different teachers. And I'm going to be teaching it to you in the masterclass that's playing on mindvalley all this week. It's a masterclass that is derived from ideas from my new book, the Buddha and the Badass. And I want to invite you to join me in this class. Now first, the teachers that I'm going to be pulling in and the streams of wisdom come from Paramahansa Yogananda, they come from Dr. Maxwell Maltz, who was a famous psychologist. They come from the Reverend Michael Beckwith, they come from the spiritual teacher Christie Marie Sheldon. But I'm going to pull all of these insights together and teach you a really unique technique that allows you to self hypnotize yourself to take on new beliefs, new identities instantly. Now what we believe to be true about the world will actually influence our world. We can believe that aging happens slowly. We can believe that progress towards our goals happens easily. And all of this can be true to you. The question is, how do you program your beliefs? Now beliefs are so powerful. One of my teachers, Jose Silva, who founded the Silva Method, would demonstrate this in his classes. He would hypnotize someone to believe that this pen here was, was a red hot poker. He would put the pen onto that person's skin and what would happen is a burn bubble would form. Jose Silva would then hypnotize them to believe that he can make that bubble disappear. He'd put his hand on the bubble, remove his hand and their skin would go back to normal. All of this within minutes. That's how powerful belief is. And it makes you wonder just how much of reality is influenced by the mind. Now if our mind is that powerful in reality, why is it that so many of us use it so half heartedly and in a kindergarten ish way? At work in the book the Buddha and the Badass, what you're going to learn is how to take this idea of your mind, shifting your reality, accelerating goals, transforming your ideation, your energy, your ability to think, your ability to function and to bring this to a domain that typically has been free of spirituality, the domain of work. You're going to see how world class performers in Fortune 500 companies, people that I train, world class athletes, are using spirituality to move and advance towards their goals in incredible ways. And this often isn't talked about. This is one of the first books that that combines spirituality with business. I've identified concrete business tools that you can even pitch to your boss because they sound so practical. But these tools are actually tapping into a different part of being human, your spirit or your soul. If you want to go really further and train with me, I'm launching a masterclass completely free this week on mindvalley where you can sign up and I'm going to take you through a 60 to 90 minute journey on one of the key ideas in this book where you implant in yourself the right beliefs that can cause your fabric of reality to shift and you do it really rapidly. This is called identity upgrading. So the link is below. I'll see you in this masterclass.
