How Mindvalley Is Equipping Students For Global Change, Impact And Transformation | Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani argues college degrees are losing hiring power and that mindset transformation creates the employees companies actually want. Mindvalley is building a job-matching service to connect employers with its graduates, launching in about 18 months. One student, Renee, shifted her mindset and launched a business rapidly.

Are you telling me that mindvalley is going to be providing people a means to get a job? Companies still care about that college degree, don't they? Well actually the world is changing.
The greatest companies in the world, Amazon, Google, are no longer requiring degree anyway. So what are you falling back on? That's like saying you need to keep a horse on hand in case the car doesn't work.
You know, we ask kids that are 16 to 18 years old to make hundred thousand dollar debt decisions when they go off to university. They don't know what they're getting themselves into.
If you actually look at where companies are going and how the world is changing, you'll notice that fewer and fewer companies truly care about college degrees. About a bullshit piece of paper, there's.
No need even to have a college degree. Say people like Bill Gates or Larry Ellison, Steve Jobs, these guys didn't graduate from college. But if you had a chance to hire them, of course that would be a good idea.
In fact, see this, this is, this is a unicorn. Now like many employers, when you're hiring, what you're looking for are unicorns. You're looking for unicorn employees. People who have some unique skills, some magic, maybe a golden horn that is going to transform your company. But here's the thing about unicorn employees. Colleges don't provide them. Unicorn employees have one thing in common, it is mindset. It's always about the mindset. When I think about the best people I hired, it's never about their degree. In fact, I have a team of around 400 people. I've interviewed maybe 10,000 people to build this team. I can never remember what degree someone has or what school they go to because honestly, I don't give a damn. But I can tell you what I do. Pay attention to the best people I hire. It's about their mindset, not about their degree. And your mindset comes from transformation. Check out this quote from Salim Ismail's book, Exponential Organizations. What Selim wrote is that companies like Google, they found that their best people, it wasn't their degree. Rather they were young people who had gone through some suffering or loss early on and ended up coming out of that tunnel more wise, more resilient, more kind and gentle. Loss, suffering. These are also things that shift your mindset when approached through the right lens. This is why mindvalley people, Mindvalley graduates, the people you see on our platform, are the best damn people to hire. But not only if you're looking for a job. If you want to be an entrepreneur, college not going to do much. But check out this story from Renee, who's one of our students in Canada. Listen carefully to what happened to her. It's mind blowing.
In the beginning of the Pandemic, I did the masterclass for Kevin Honda for the money EQ. And I've been a business owner for about 13 years. And I really wanted to start a new company, but I was really stuck on saving my money because I'm a single mom. So I was like, okay, I have to make sure I save, I save, I save. And that class really helped me to go to the next level. I actually end up getting a warehouse, a fulfillment center. And that month that we did, with the month that I did the Kevin Honda, I made the amount that I made in a year, I made in a month.
That's insane. That is cool. What is your company? What's the business called?
It's called blk ed. So black. It's www.blk.ed.
You built this website, blk ed. These designs are totally badass. So Renee started this website. Check out the visuals, check out the handbags. And she learned this idea from Mindvalley. Her regular education told her that you have to save, you have to budget. You know, that's such bs. Renee's transformation came because of an insight she gained from one of her mindvalley programs. As a result, she's now an entrepreneur and made in one month what she previously made in one day. Year Mindset. Mindset creates unicorns. Companies want unicorns. Now, here's where we're going next. Not only are we helping give people the right mindset, but there are two other things that make Mindvalley students the best people to employ. And soon, I can tell you, Google, Facebook, the US Defense Department, some of the best companies out there are going to be hiring mindvalley people. Let me tell you why. The first thing is this. We're building our own human to human matching engineering which will be able to match companies to the right people that can connect with other members of their team. So as more and more companies join Mindvalley, we literally cannot just help you elevate your company culture, but we can predict who are the best people across our mindvalley network to bring into your culture. And the second thing is this. We are launching job matching services. This is about 18 months, but soon entrepreneurs will be able to find co founders, you'll be able to find the right experts, people will be able to find jobs on mindvalley. Companies will be able to find the right people to join their team. And there'll be something unique about mindvalley individuals. We're giving all mindvalley members the equivalent of Iron Man's. Jarvis, have you ever seen Iron Man? He has the these augmented reality glasses that help him navigate the world and give him extra intelligence.
Standby for retinol and biometric scan. Retinol and biometric scan accepted.
Hello.
Hello, Peter.
Yes, we're building that. Mindvalley graduates are going to have augmented intelligence. Our graduates will be connected to other graduates. If you hire someone in mindvalley for branding, let's go back to Renee. Right? Let's say Renee was creating her handbags. Renee will be able to pop her handbag design to other members of the mindvalley network who are handbag designers or in branding, gather their data, and AI will be able to analyze the data and give Renee answers on how to make her bags better. So every person you hire on mindvalley isn't just a solo individual. They're plugged into an augmented network that multiplies brains. They're connected to other people in the network, and they are simply going to be more intelligent, more connected than the average human being. All these technologies coming together in the next couple of. I like to say years, but all of these technologies coming together in the next two to three years. So I can't wait to see you on mindvalley1.
