In this lesson from the Buddha and the Badass, I'm going to show you how to attract into your life the right people to help you take whatever vision is in your head and bring it forth to the world. We're going to be talking about chapter two of the Buddha and the Badass. Attract your allies. I want to read you the opening quote from this chapter. Human beings are moved more by emotion than by logic. The greatest gift you can give someone is to invite them to share in a dream. This is how you become magnetic and align yourself with the people you need to make any vision a reality. Where we are standing right now guys, is mindvalley's office. We call this the Temple of Light. The reason this is called the Temple of Light is because this office was designed in a really unique way. In such a way where in 2019 Inc magazine labeled this with one of the top 10 most beautiful workspaces in the world. But here's the crazy thing. This is what our office used to look like. This office that you see in this Picture is from 2005. It was at the back of a warehouse because that was all I could afford. But the funny thing is the people in that picture, those were extraordinary engineers and business leaders who came to work with me in that office. You see that guy in the picture? That's Kylie Ng. He's the head of 500 Startups. He's one of Asia's most incredible investors. Back in 2005 he was employee number 11 at Mindvalley. How was I getting people of that caliber to come and work from that crummy office? Here's the trick. I called it the Manifesto technique and I describe it in chapter two of this book. You see what excites people more then your present reality is your vision for the future. Shared reality. I call this the Manifesto. Back then in 2005 when I put up the first Mindvalley website when we didn't have any employees, Mindvalley was basically me and my dog. I was too embarrassed to show that our team consisted of just one person. So I made my labradoodle our Director of PR and it was me and Ozzy on our website. But on that same website I wrote a manifesto. And this is what that manifesto said. And given where I was a guy with a dog working from the back of the warehouse, that manifesto would seem almost delusional. But I wasn't talking about the present reality. I was describing the future I wanted to create. And very fast we started getting incredible talent because people resonated with that manifesto, you see, as I say in chapter two of the book, people are driven more by emotion than logic. And what inspires people is a vision for a shared future that excites their soul. This is what the manifesto technique is about. And when you can figure out what is your manifesto for the shared vision that you're going to create, you're going to be magnetic. Now, the funny thing is, with this manifesto, with this idea for the shared future that I wanted to create, I was able to attract so much good talent from my city that soon this space, this office, became inevitable. Now, you can apply the manifesto technique for any situation. It could be a product you want to build. It could be a lifestyle you want to lead. The key thing about a manifesto is that it's different from a set of goals. Goals are often personal. A manifesto is for a shared reality you're going to take other people into. You can design a manifesto for your family. You can design a manifesto for your team within a company. If you run a company, you should be writing your manifesto. And in chapter two of this book, attract your allies. I show you the approach to creating that manifesto, creating a shared reality and magnetically attracting to you all the right minds that you need. Now you can get the book from mindvalley.com Buddha badass. But I wanted to do more. I also am airing a masterclass all of this week on a key lesson from the book. Another key lesson way beyond the manifesto technique. But this lesson requires me to take you through a one hour critical reflection exercise that's going to teach you how to hack your consciousness. Now join me for this masterclass. It's mindvalley.com buddhabadass masterclass, completely free. Bring a journal. And this is going to be transformative for you.
