A short motivational talk by Roger Hamilton about the role of certainty, giving, trust, confidence, and credibility in creating future success. Hamilton argues that certainty about the future (not just hopes) is where personal and organizational equity lies; by focusing on what you can give and consistently delivering, you build credibility and internal confidence, which attracts resources and accelerates achievement.

Most of us, if we were to say, well, what did my life look like a year ago? We can all say it with certainty. We can say, well, this happened, this happened, this is what I was doing. If we say, what's our life look like a year from now? Most people wouldn't say, this is happening, this is what's going on. With that same level of certainty, they'd actually say, well, maybe this might happen, or I hope this will happen without realizing it's that certainty of the future, which was where all your equity lies. All the people who are building the most trust, including listed companies, I mean like companies themselves, are valued based on their prediction for the future. And all of the top leaders who are attracting money and resources and customers and teams is because they're the most certain about the future as well. Because if you wake up every day and you're thinking, there's stuff I don't have, if I only had the money, as opposed to waking up with what you actually have to give, which is like, well, I've actually got a great investment opportunity for the right person. The moment someone starts focusing at how much we have ourselves to give, we open up a gateway to a universe. Like we suddenly realize, wow, I've got things to give. I know people that will be valuable to someone else, right? I've learned things in my past, or I've got a certain energy about myself, or I've got a passion which I haven't even been like showing to someone else can be of real value to them because I've been so busy thinking about things I don't have. And so the moment that happens, we start building our self worth massively. And at the end of the day, so much of, of how we become successful in the world and how we navigate this future is about trust. And it's about trust internally, which is confidence, and trust externally, which is credibility. And as we start giving more, and when people start seeing the result of that giving, which is that we're good for our word and doing that, our credibility grows, but our confidence grows as well. And then we want to go out and give more again and again. Which is why some of the most successful people in the world today are also known as some of the most generous because they're constantly giving in effective ways. You don't have to have belief that you can do it, you just have to have belief that it's going to happen and you're going to be a part of it. That's the easier thing to believe. And then you have to make that your unwavering, non negotiable certainty as to the reason you're here on this planet. And if you do that, and you have that certainty, you will attract others that will then also be on that same pathway with you. And then it's not a question of whether you're going to achieve your greatness, it's just a question of when. It.
