Vishen Lakhiani argues that confidence comes from consistently caring for your body, not from achieving an ideal look. Fitness should serve your body's needs, not your ego. Focus on presence and attitude instead of chasing a specific appearance.

People use fitness to serve the ego, not serve the body. What gives people confidence about their body is not the state that the body is at. Just get somebody who is in a peak state and put them for a whole week not to care about their body, not to take care, not to show up. They will start feeling at the worst case scenario because they are not show. The attitude is not there. Not even if the body is not in the ideal state. But you are showing up to your body and taking care of it. The idea is not that I will manipulate you to become what I wanted to be, but I will show up. I'll give you my best. I will try to understand what my body needs. I'll give the best type of food, I'll bring the best type of exercise. I'll do all the best type of routines for the body to become what it wants to become. That's what makes you confident about your body. And then that is what allows your body to have the best version of that is available for your own type of body, for your unique type of body.
