The Vortex by Esther and Jerry Hicks | Asha Gill

Asha Gill explains how Esther and Jerry Hicks' The Vortex shifted her understanding of alignment and vibrational energy. The book's core idea: stop focusing on what you don't want, practice self-care, then move toward what you do want. This shift in focus raises your vibration and changes what becomes possible.

If there's one thing I've learned from the Vortex by Esther and Jerry Hicks, it's that alignment is everything. You know, synchronicity is a funny thing. You know, sometimes in life, seemingly out of nowhere, you get those answers, the solutions, the stepping stone. You need that almighty ladder that gets you out of that hole. And in other days, it's kind of like the speed dial to the universe is jammed up and engaged. You know, you wake up on some mornings and life is dreamy. It's like waking up onto the set of the Waltons. You can skip through the flowers. Everything is amazing. The whole day goes so well and you feel like you're empowered, strong, on top of the world. You're with it, you're on the ball. Nothing's gonna pull you down. And then there are other days where quite literally you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and everything's doom and gloom. You can't get it right. Nothing you do works. You just have such low self esteem. It just seems to steamroll her into this just monumentally bad day. But is there any way that we can actually have more of the good, in fact, perhaps all of the not the bad. Is it how we think about things? What is it that makes those days so amazing and others so tragic? Well, I had one such day. One such day led me to Googling, feeling stuck in the vortex. I had no idea what the vortex was about, but I came across an Abraham Hicks audio that was on YouTube. And I thought, I'm gonna just listen to this, you know, universe, help me out here. And I plugged it into the car and I drove home. And I was feeling overwhelmed. I was feeling crushed. I had no idea to the solution. I tried everything. I just felt like I couldn't, couldn't do anything right. And I was such a failure and I was in such a bad space. And as I listened to it for the next 10, 15 minutes, as I drove home, desperate for an answer, I found myself at the end of the audio when it stopped feeling completely different. Did I get the answers? No. Did I get any direction? No. But I felt amazing. My vibrational energy just absolutely changed. And why? Simply because I understood, understood what being stuck was all about. And I shared this experience with a few of my girlfriends who actually found solace and comfort and clarity in listening to very similar YouTube videos or audios concerning insomnia, heartbreak, loss of a parent. So all of these things were very powerful because it wasn't giving answers to solutions or what you should do, but by understanding what that situation meant, gave that person the breadth and the space to actually be able to act, or not act, but be in a vibrational power enough to actually put the right messages out there. Because one of the things I had done wrong all of this time was, for example, always thought if I didn't know the answer to something, I would just figure out what I didn't want. And I would figure out what I didn't want. I'd make a list of the things I didn't want. And thinking about those things made me feel vibrationally really bad inside. But I thought I was doing the right thing. Little did I realize that actually by focusing on what I didn't want, those were the messages I was putting out to the universe. And kind of those were the circumstances that kept boomeranging back to me. Silly me. But now I know, thanks to listening to this really in depth audiobook, that what you have to do is focus on the negative, perhaps to figure out what it is. Then go general, like take a nap, go for a swim, go for a walk, pet your dog or your cat, play with your children and get your vibrational energies up. And that's when the magic starts to happen. That's when you can focus on what you do want and send those messages out with the right kind of vibration out with it as well. That's something I learned that was very powerful for me in this book. So the Vortex is a very in depth book that touches on so many different, in fact, I would say practically every given situation that you could find in your life. And it doesn't give you answers, although I like to call it the book of answers. But what it does is actually set up the scene for what the reality really is, what the truth really is. And that gets you into an alignment to be able to navigate your life from that starting point, the real point of who you are and what you're doing here.
