Why Gandhi's Words on Identity Matter More Than Ever #Shorts

When I was young, I read a quote by Gandhi, and Gandhi said, I'm a Hindu and I'm a Muslim and I'm a Christian and I'm a Jew and I'm a Buddhist. What he was saying is that I am not going to identify myself by one thing, because as soon as we identify ourselves by one thing, whether it's a religion or it's a political affiliation, that identity becomes so real that we will resist anything counter to that identity. And that can be dangerous. We need to have open minds. We need to be open to other points of view, even if it's other points of view that may be different from our religion or different from what our political party says. And that's the only way I think we can create a humanity that's more connected that where there's less fighting. And that's the best way for us to grow. Let's go back to that quote by Gandhi.
