A researcher presents findings from interviews with people who've had out-of-body experiences, documenting eight consistent psychological shifts including reduced fear of death and enhanced inner peace. A Barcelona study using VR to simulate astral projection produced similar results in fear reduction.

I studied people. I studied them before they had their outbound experience. I interviewed them, I studied them after. So there were eight themes. These themes went across the board. Every single person had these changes. It's not some, it's all of them. So it was a motivational catalyst. They had a reduced fear of death, enhanced inner peace, new life perspectives, increased self awareness, a sense of individuality, reassessed relationships, and strengthened existing or new spiritual beliefs. Can I just point something out here? We have to write this down in a very dry, academic way, but it's really hard to put into words like someone when they tell you in an interview, oh, my God, I came out of my body, then I was molecules, and then I went into the universe, and then I was everything but nothing at the same time. Then I met my ancestor and they said this thing to me, and then you're like, yes, they had strengthened existing beliefs in other dimensions. I feel it kind of dampens the quality of their experience. You know, there was a study at the University of Barcelona. You can put people in a virtual reality headset, give them a pretend out of body experience, and they will still have a reduced fear of death. That's not even a real one. So imagine the impact if you came out of your body tonight.
