For years, I envisioned myself on Oprah. I had this really strange desire. I was gonna be on Oprah. And when Oprah turned her head, I was gonna smell her leather couch. So I get a call, and they said, we would love to have you on Oprah. I was like, yes. Oh, my God. I was happy. I go to Oprah. She comes in the green room. It was so excited.
She was like, lisa, so excited to meet you. I was like, she just said my name. I've arrived. I've arrived.
And then I walk out on stage five, and I'm like, this stool. I get off Oprah, and everybody had one question. How was Oprah? I said, it was good, but I was looking for that couch. How many things are going amazing in your life and yet you still have a place to say, but I was on Oprah, y'. All. There was no other media that was higher than that. I'm not even saying that for the applause. I'm saying that for the ridiculousness of my butt. There was no room for butt. So I get a call about two weeks after that, and they said, Ms. Nichols, we really loved you on the Oprah show, and we would really love to have you consider a. And I go to Warner Brothers to have the meeting, and I walk into this room, and on the stage was a cream leather couch. All of a sudden, the producers are yelling, Ms. Nichols, do you like the colors? Do you like the wood? Do you like the shape of the stage? Do you like the pillows? I said, excuse me. Shh. Ms. Nichols. And in that moment, I had to sit there and apologize to God. I said, God, I'm sorry.
I just wanted to sit on Oprah's couch. And God said, I know you've been.
Trying to sit on Oprah's couch, and.
I've been trying to give you your own couch.
You get a couch, and you get a couch, and you get a couch, and nobody's couch is gonna look like yours. And what I figured out that moment is, nobody can take my couch from me. Like, that day, I realized there's no one like you. You've never been.
