S&P500 Technical Analysis & Price Forecast - 13 December 2021

Vladimir Ribakov analyzes the S&P 500 across multiple timeframes and identifies a bearish setup on the 4-hour chart. He points to a bearish divergence on the weekly chart, resistance on the daily, and a false breakout on the 4-hour that could trigger a downtrend if price breaks below a recent swing low.

And now let's begin with the chart. So what do we have on the S&P? We are still taking a look on the weekly chart, okay? And I'm using my virtual trading pen, uh, to draw it here. Uh, so what do we have here? A beautiful bearish divergence between all the highs of the rally. We have more than 20 candles right on the upper Bollinger Band without retracing to the downside. The divergence, by the way, it's, uh, here between higher highs on the chart, lower highs on the moving average of the MACD, the histogram, and the RSI as well. Uh, on the daily chart, we have here a beautiful resistance which so far holds and by itself hints of a slowdown. And this is where I see the opportunity on the 4-hour chart. As you can see here, we already have a beautiful false breakout recognized by my false breakout convergence indicator. And at this place, what I want to see is the price going below this low, below the swing low, okay? Breaking below that, making lower lows on the histogram of the MACD as well. You can see this Volume, a lot of volume building up already. So if we manage to break that down and come for a quick retest, quick pullback, and hold— the most important thing, we hold the highs, this and these highs, okay? Then from this zone, I really am expecting to see the next bearish movement begins with a small risk reward. With small— with a small risk, the reward could be huge here if the bears really take the control and if the next corrective leg begins to take place. Fundamentally speaking, we have all the pressure with the inflation. The Fed hints on the situation as well. There is— there are enough reasons at the moment fundamentally to speed up the bearish movement as well. Let's see if that triggers. And let me know, what do you think about, uh, this, uh, S&P and general the markets? And also, by the way, if you missed the weekly forecast where I shared with you 2 great ideas on the Aussie franc and the Euro Kiwi, right now on the right top corner of this video you can find a direct link to watch it, or just find it in my channel. Okay, just go to the videos in my channel and you will see that the last video was published a couple of days ago, I think. So that's it for this video.
