Hi guys. Choosing a manager is extremely important to your career. And the reason it's important is you need somebody that has the experience, the relationships, and knows what direction to help you go. A manager is somebody that shares your vision but then is able to chart the course and keep you as an artist on task and on course. We don't have a lot of great managers in urban music. And I think the reason that we don't is because a lot of artists hire their cousin or their boy or somebody that they're comfortable with and somebody that they trust. And while trust and comfort is really important, what's also important is the skillset of being a manager. A manager is somebody that knows how to talk to people and somebody that can get things done. Somebody that's strong enough to tell people no and not leave a bad taste in their mouth, but somebody that's also likable and can call in favors and get people to do what's needed in order to move your career forward.
