Artists move so fast they miss the warning signs. Speaker B compares it to speeding on a highway: the faster you go, the less you notice what's ahead. Most artists lack the time and capacity to avoid pitfalls because they're constantly racing forward.
Is there anything that artists can do on their side to prevent this from happening?
That's a whole nother job, you know what I'm saying? I don't think they have— I don't think they have time for that, you know. I mean, the art— they're artists, they're running. I always tell people, like, you know, they're running way faster than the speed limit on the highway.
Yes.
You know what I'm saying? So the faster you go, the harder— the harder for you to see the signs.
Right.
You know what I'm saying? Smartest people, the people that ask me the best questions are usually the people that are like semi-retired from the music business. You know what I mean? They got time to think and all of a sudden it's like, hey, you know what I'm saying? But the people who are running fast, they're not even getting no education in between.
