Amond Jackson breaks down mixing as both art and science: processing individual elements so they work together, then adding detailed work to make music hit harder emotionally. The goal is a mix that translates across every speaker and platform.

Mixing is an art form where we take all of the different elements of a song or a film and we process the individual components of said film or song and we get all the different elements to play nice together. It's a really science-oriented thing. It takes a lot of technical know-how to do it, but The way that I view it, this is the way that I would say it in plain English, which is when artists or producers are making music, the idea is to just have fun and just make a good record. After the record has been made, then I go in and I do all of the detail work that gets the music to feel, um, to feel more emotionally charged. And more importantly than any of that other stuff, um, I make the music translatable amongst different platforms.
