The meaning of "masters" has exploded since the internet. It used to mean sampled music recordings, but now includes dialogue from films, TV, and social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Creators can also reproduce someone's voice entirely, creating new legal and rights clearance headaches.

So we jump ahead to the year 2024, and masters have so many different new meanings now because of the internet. So people aren't just sampling recordings, people are sampling dialogue from films or TV. Sounds. Sounds. People are sampling people speaking on Instagram or TikTok. And so people in the likeness of their voice. So you need to clear that as well. So it's become all these different new levels of stuff.
