Owned media is any communication channel you fully control: email lists, SMS, Patreon, anything you can export to a spreadsheet. Unlike Facebook or TikTok, no platform can take it away from you.

What if I have a Patreon membership? Is that a community? Yeah, there's a bit of, you know what I mean? So there's overlap here. Yeah. And I would say we can draw a circle around all of these circles and we'll call it owned media. Okay. I love this. Owned media. And in that, in that circle, traditionally from a marketing standpoint, exists email lists, mailing lists, you know, SMS, basically. Yeah. Anything that can't be taken away from you by a third party, you actually own it. So my email lists, It's on Drip, but I can take it in a spreadsheet. I can put it anywhere. Facebook's not like that. TikTok's not like that. Instagram's not like that. So that's owned media.
