Now, some folks will say that we live in the greatest time that there has ever been. And in a lot of ways, that's probably true. You think about the advancements we've made just from a technology perspective. But when I was a kid growing up, I lived on a farm. And when dad and I were in different parts of the place, we had to communicate and we only had 2 options. We had walkie-talkies, which kids still have today, but the range on them is a lot greater than it was back then. I think it's miles now when it used to be hundreds of yards at most. Or you had— and don't date me here— but CB radios. CB radios were something that you had to utilize if you needed to talk over longer distances. So those were our 2 options. Well, today, because of the advancement in technology, what do we have? Cell phones. And now they call them smartphones because they're able to do so much more than what we used to be able to do. If you needed to find out something you don't know, think about the internet. No, Al Gore didn't invent it. It's been around though, and we use it. If you don't know something, all you got to do is Google it and you know what it is. You know the answer. But we also use the internet to communicate with individuals through email, through chat. So, from a technology perspective, yeah, the advancements over the last 30 years are astounding. From a scientific perspective, it's the same thing. We do knee replacements, we do ankle replacements, we do shoulder replacements, we do hip replacements, we do surgeries in the areas of the heart and other vital organs that 30 years ago would have never been thought of or ever tried. because of the dangers. And now they just happen on a daily basis. So yeah, in a lot of ways, we are living in some of the greatest times ever. But having said that, you have to ask the question, if we are living in some of the greatest times ever, why is leadership, which is what you would expect to be driving all of this, why is leadership continually brought into question As some of the poorest as we've ever had. Now, that's not me just saying that. I want you to go back with me to December of 2023. The World Economic Forum says that we are facing a global leadership crisis. It's not just in the United States. Globally, we are facing a leadership crisis. In fact, in their survey, 77% of the people said that we have poor leadership in corporate— in the corporate world worldwide. They also say that we have an— or 85% of them say we have a crisis in leadership in government. Now, we all know government has its strengths and has its weaknesses. And oftentimes, leadership is not one of its strengths. And we're going to get into that when we talk about the problems that we have in leadership today. But we have to ask ourselves, why is leadership at such a crisis level, not just in America, but across the world?
