In this 2026 webinar (Episode 7) hosted by Glenn with panelists Ben Walker (Gather), David Allen (CICA Southern), and Ian Jeffreys (NEC), participants explored the purpose, structure, and practical completion of NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Contract Data Part 1 (client) and Part 2 (contractor). The discussion covered the contractual role of italicised terms, the relationship between contract data and the conditions of contract, and how the data informs risk allocation, fee percentages, working areas, key persons, programmes, and early‑warning registers. Practical advice was given on preparing clean templates, avoiding null entries, using the official NEC‑provided form, and leveraging NEC Digital – a cloud‑based platform that auto‑filters options, validates fields, links Z‑clauses to core clauses, and supports collaboration, versioning, and export. The panel also addressed common questions (e.g., home‑working costs, AI‑assisted clause clash detection) and highlighted upcoming roadmap features such as AI integration and contract‑data cloning. The session concluded with promotion of the next webinar on activity schedules.
