In this segment of the YouTube video "Do You Have A Short Temper?" Will Kelly explains the concept of "tolerance" as the amount of hardship a person can endure before their behavior changes. He distinguishes between a "long fuse" (high tolerance) and a "short fuse" (low tolerance), providing everyday examples of both extremes. Kelly encourages viewers to reflect on their own tolerance level—high, medium, or low—and to observe others they know who exhibit either extreme. He argues that by measuring these components of mental toughness, individuals can begin a process of self‑improvement.

tolerance. This is how much hardship or the number of hardships you can endure before you have a change in behavior. Does it take a lot of little things? Does it take one massive big thing to tip you over the edge? Like, where is your trigger point? How much tough stuff can you go through before you crack? Long fuse equals high tolerance. Short fuse equals low tolerance. Now, as we go through these, I want you to think about it for yourself. Not only do you want to kind of measure this for yourself, but I also want you to think of like other people that you know, like, do you know anybody that has a super short fuse where you like one thing kind of ticks them off and they fly off the handle? It's like, dude, chill out, bro. It's not that big of a deal. Or do you know people that have like the longest fuse where it's like, dude, they got all this crap happening in their life, they just lost their job and they're just steady flowing. Yeah, man, I'll find something else. You know, like, man, they got a very long fuse. I want you guys to think for yourself and ask yourself, do I have a high, medium, or low tolerance? And if we can begin to measure these components of mental toughness, we can begin the process of being able to improve ourselves.
