Will Kelly explains the 2-Mower Strategy for lawn crews: on larger properties, bring two mowers so one person starts the biggest area while the other preps the next section. It cuts time on-site and provides a backup if a mower breaks down. Label each mower with a truck identifier like 6A and 6B to keep equipment matched to its assigned truck.

We've got our fresh blade, we've cleaned our air filter, we've checked the oil, we are good to go. Me personally, I'm gonna grab 2 mowers. The reason why is recently we had an awesome team member go out, had a lot of larger properties on his route, and he was questioning some of the budget hours on the times. And one of the first things I asked him, I said, did you guys only grab one mower or did you grab 2 mowers? And he said, well, I only grabbed one mower. And I said, okay, because the mowing piece of equipment takes longest on the property. If you have a lot of 0.6s, 0.7 budget hour lawns, which are the larger ones, it is important that both team members grab the mower first. Now on the smaller properties, it doesn't make sense. You guys are going to kind of get in each other's way. But I would always recommend grabbing two mowers so that way whoever's off the truck first goes straight to the backyard and mow the big football field in the backyard, is what we like to call them. That way you guys can get in and out quicker and faster and get back sooner. Now the other reason why I would recommend taking two mowers is because what if a scenario happens where maybe you have some malfunctions going on or the equipment's not running properly? For you to have to stop your route and drive all the way back to the shop because you didn't grab a second mower is inefficient and there's waste in the day. So we're going to grab both mowers. Every time through transportation, we're going to use the mower boots up there, and, uh, that just allows secure transportation so we're not breaking any of the equipment. Each mower is labeled with a specific number and letter. It is designed in a way that this is truck 6, so we are going to take mower 6A and mower 6B so that way we can match the same equipment up with the truck and keep everything consistent. And we are good to go.
