In this recruiting video, Will Kelly announces a single opening for a General Manager (GM) at a Military Lawn Cuts location in Little Elm, Texas. He outlines the company's growth (10 locations) and the GM's potential career trajectory—from managing a single location to possibly becoming a regional manager and eventually a C‑level executive—highlighting corresponding compensation milestones: $60‑65k in year 1, $70‑80k in year 2, $80‑100k+ in year 3, and $125‑150k as a regional manager. Kelly stresses the demanding nature of the role: 50‑60 hour weeks, physically intensive work in Texas heat, and responsibilities that include crew management, sales, dispatch, KPI tracking, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate is experienced in lawn care or similar blue‑collar leadership, driven by continuous improvement, and familiar with Military Lawn Cuts' systems. Relocation assistance of up to $2,000 is offered for non‑locals. Kelly describes the current location’s status (3‑4 team members, $300k annual revenue, growth mode) and sets clear short‑term goals (stabilize team, hit KPIs, expand client base from 150 to 250). He invites interested applicants to complete a link‑provided application with honest answers, promising a review and potential call. The tone balances motivational storytelling with candid disclosure of the job’s hardships.

Hey everyone, it's Will Kelly and I have a special announcement for you. So I am looking for one person to run my lawn care business. If you've been watching my content for a while, you already know what we're building here at Military Lawn Cuts. 10 locations, a real company, a real career path for people who are serious. And right now I have one open seat. I am not looking for a lot of people. I'm only looking for one. And if that person is you, your life could look completely different in 3 years. So I want to paint the picture, and I want you to imagine for a second you wake up, you're not working for somebody who doesn't care about you, you're not stuck in a dead-end job wondering if it's going to go anywhere, you're not building someone else's dream with nothing to show for it. You are leading a team, you're running a real operation, you have a clear path in front of you with a number attached to it, and the people above you are actively investing in making you better, not just extracting from you. That's what this role is. We are looking for a general manager to run one of our Military Lawn Cuts locations here in Little Elm, Texas. This is a real leadership opportunity and position with a real salary, a real bonus structure, and a real ceiling that keeps going up the better you get. So I want to paint the picture for you. So year 1, you would be expecting $60,000 to about $65,000. The second year, you would be able to expand and grow and increase your take-home pay to about $70,000 to $80,000. The third year, the on-target earnings would be anywhere from $80,000 to upwards to above $100,000. Now, if you come in and you perform really well, we're also going to need a regional manager down the road, and a regional manager makes anywhere from $125,000 to $150,000 per year. That is not a promise. That is a proven track. Of what we have here, and it's really based on performance. The track is already built. I do want to be honest to what this really entails, so let me be straight with you guys because I'm not going to sell you a dream that isn't real. This is hard. It is physically demanding. You're going to be in the Texas heat, 100+ degrees. You're going to be doing weed control, mowing, training new team members, dispatching new crews, running Monday morning meetings, calling estimates, doing drive-bys, maintaining trucks, holding people accountable, disciplinary write-ups, all of it. This is 50 to 60 hours a week right now. We are in growth mode. We are not in cruise mode. We need somebody who can sell not only the team, but also the vision of the company and to customers. If you need a comfortable 40-hour week desk job, this is not it. I respect that, but that's not what this is. What this is, is a forge. The person you become running this location for 2 to 3 years is something invaluable. School doesn't teach that type of skill set. Learning directly from owners who have been able to grow through the ranks as a technician— we literally built this thing from the ground up. This is the type of people you're going to be learning from, from a technician. We moved up to being a manager. We then learned that skill set and grew and become a regional manager where you're teaching managers managers who are now managing the technicians. It's a whole different skill set. And then becoming a C-level executive, CEO, where you have layers deep. These are the skill sets that you must conquer no matter where you go. You have to learn this if you want to grow and build a career. You will learn how to sell to people, how to sell to your team, how to manage operations, how to hit KPIs, how to grow a customer base, how to maintain the customer base. Building something from the ground up inside of a proven system. I've seen it. I know what this environment does to people who don't quit. But that's the key phrase— don't quit. Taking the path of least resistance is oftentimes the path you should not take. In order to be molded into the individual that you have to be, you have to take the hard road. So who is this for? This is for someone who's got experience in the lawn care industry, landscaping, or running a crew. You know what blue-collar work actually feels like, and you're not afraid of it. In fact, In fact, you might love it. You have a leadership instinct, or you've been in a management role before, and you know what you're capable of and what you're currently doing. You're the type of person who is constantly trying to get better. You don't show up to prove, you show up to improve. Reading, watching content like this, studying what works— constant improvement isn't a buzzword for you, it's how you operate. And ideally, You're someone who's been following what we're building right here at Military Lawn Cuts because you already understand the systems, you already understand the process, you understand the mission, which is to build and develop people. Here's something we're doing for the right candidate. If you're not local and you want to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we will reimburse you up to $2,000 to help cover the moving costs and to pay the movers to move your stuff down here to Texas. Because if you're the right person, I want you on the team. I want to make it as easy as possible for you to say yes. Now let me explain to you exactly where this location is at. So this location is in Little Elm, Texas. Ideally, you would want to be within 20 to 30 minute drive of that location if you do plan to move down here, or maybe you're already local. It's got 3 to 4 solid team members right now. It's on pace to do around $300,000 this year. So we're still in growth mode. You're coming into a growth stage that is not a finished product yet. Your first job is to stabilize, retain the team, get the routes done before Friday, learn the systems, hit weekly KPIs. That's the first 6 months. Then by the end of year 1, the goal is to grow from 150 clients to 250. When we hit that number, we can now flip into profit mode. Your bonus and profit sharing kicks in even harder and the hard work actually pays off. You have a direct influence on how much money you make. When you win, we all win and the location wins. That is intentional. What you're going to feel when you walk in here is a leadership team that actually cares. We go above and beyond to make sure that our training and the people inside of this organization is top tier. Our standards are high. Our training is real. We have a systematic playbook and it's only getting better. We have a blueprint and we're going to hand it to you and then stand behind you and support you while you run. The operations. You're not getting thrown into the wolves, but you are going to be expected to lead and hold people accountable. Here's the truth: most people are going to watch this video and keep scrolling. That's totally okay. You should— if you aren't the right candidate, that's totally okay. You can get a lot of value watching my videos and growing your own business or managing your own department inside of an organization. That's fine. But if something in this video made you sit up a little straighter, had your ears perk up a little taller, and you felt something when I described the path. If you've been watching what we're building here at Military Lawn Cuts and you thought, I want to be a part of that, then you might be the right person that we're looking for. The application link is in the description below. It's going to ask you some real questions. Answer them honestly. We'll review it, and if it looks like a fit, we'll get on a call.
