AITA The VIRAL #Jemily Wedding đź‘€ | Reddit REACTION

Wedding planner Jamie Wolfer reacts to a viral Reddit post about a bride's obsessively branded "Gemily" wedding, complete with hex codes, mandatory hashtags, and a list of forbidden words. The OP, a med student asked to be a bridesmaid, faces an engagement guide that reads like corporate branding. Emily later blocked the OP and sent a passive-aggressive note after declining.

Oh my goodness. Did you see it? Tell me you saw it. If you didn't see it, doesn't matter because we're going to discuss it anyways. This might be the most viral AITA we have ever covered on this channel. I feel like we've trained for this moment, guys. Am I the a-hole if I tell my friend I can't be a bridesmaid? With pictures! Hi, if you're new here, my name is Jamie Wolfer. I'm your online wedding planner. And normally we do about like one of these a month. And this one, this little gift just came to us a few days ago. And so, of course, naturally I had to record it immediately. And if you can't tell, I'm absolutely buzzing because this has got a lot of, lot of stuff to cover. So without further ado, let's just jump right on into it. Am I the a-hole if I tell my friend I can't be a bridesmaid? Okay, we've got, we've got some— I don't know. I'm showing you that the pictures will be up on the screen. Okay. We're about 23. I get her heart is in a good place and I said yes initially because we've been friends basically our whole lives, but we haven't been that close recently. I was roped into planning this engagement party planning picnic and there just seems to be a lot of extremely detail-oriented tasks that I've never even heard of. We met on Zoom 4 times for this. 4 times planning for planning meetings for the planning meeting. Hmm. The wedding isn't until next year, but I'm worried I'm signing up for way more than I will be able to handle. I'm about to be in med school, I have a young niece and newborn nephew, work full-time till school starts, and have a lot going on between me and my boyfriend's family. But they just got engaged, so I'm thinking this is just a lot of early energy that could be burned through. Huh? Does anyone have a similar experience? Does detail-oriented necessarily lead to bridezilla? I guess I'm on the fence but also freaked out. AITA? Okay, before we go any further, if you've already read this, do not spoil anything in the comments, okay? But go sound off in the comments if you already know what's gonna happen, okay? Okay, so before we read the comments, we're gonna go through the pictures. She was so kind to include 4 of them. Okay, uh, we've got a picnic scene, okay? There's some cheese, there's some charcuterie. It looks like one of those little like travel charcuterie things with the knives that get stored underneath. That's very cute, very demure, very mindful. Still not over that. Okay, um, the note, it looks like it's handwritten from the bride. As you know, you are one of my best friends. I love you so much. I humbly invite you to join me on the Journey of the Bridesmaids. Please note the capital letters. It's a quest. I'm already on a quest, a quest to get my swamp back. Why did I just make Shrek Southern? Oh no, it's going to be a long video, guys. Okay, it will be euphoric, magical, challenging, and... life-changing. Oh no, we've already lost the plot. This will be a huge opportunity for everyone involved. Won't you join us? I know you won't make this difficult. Heart. Love, Emily. Okay. Okay. Okay. I want to make sure that I am filming this with a spirit of like, there may be someone who's very similar to similar minded to this watching. Okay. This comes across way stronger than you intended, sweetie. Way stronger than you intended. It's, it's not a journey for your bridesmaids. It's a journey for you. And they're joining you on it. And most of the time, wedding party attendants are super glad to do so. I highly doubt it will be euphoric or magical, but I do think the latter two definitions, the latter two terms could be quite, quite defining. Challenging and dot, dot, dot, dot, dot life-changing. Okay, that's just the first photo. So let's just keep, let's just keep going. All right. So now we have more of the picnic scene. All right. They— oh, cute. Okay. They did put some intention into it. They've got some cutting boards. They clearly wanted this to be like a charcuterie-style thing. Is that there is someone in the background that appears to be holding a binder with the same colors, and I'm wondering if this is the bride. And it does not look like it's a fun conversation, uh, but also, you know, when you catch someone in the moment for just like a glimpse, a photo, you don't really know the context of what's going on there. But I'm just saying, the body language of that does not look great. Does not look great. But I do love that we have a cake stand with nothing on it. Okay, that's laminated. It's laminated! Okay, engagement guide for Gemily. That's Jacob and Emily, okay? There are hex codes. There are hex codes for the specific colors that you're supposed to be using or can use for this engagement season. Feminine Power, Rosé Whisper, Kayak Rapids Blue, Tranquil Sky, and New Terra, and Innocent Pearl. With the codes, so if you make anything on Canva, you could do it within that color palette. Listen, I do love a well-branded wedding, okay? I do, I do. I don't see the need to invite your bridesmaids into your color palette, and I don't see the need to give them your hex codes, but at least you're carrying the theme, babes. At least you have a vision and you are sticking to it. Okay, we're only on the top third of this. We've got dos and don'ts. Does that say 3.2 carat? Did she put her carrot size? She put her carrot size on the form. Okay, dos: use #Gemily on all media. Okay, all of it. The Gemily wedding. Is that a hashtag? What are we supposed to do? We're supposed to do the wedding. Okay, we're doing the hashtag and we're doing the Gemily wedding and we're using the fonts Coolvetica and Cute Frog. K, and it shows you— wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. It shows you where to download the fonts. No, I'm so sorry. Okay, um, don'ts: Jamilee or MCOB. K, uh, Gemilee's wedding. Oh, okay, so we need to say the Gemilee wedding and not Gemilee's wedding. Okay, and don't engage with or write unsanctioned variations. What does that mean? What does that mean? Like if someone posts MCOB and you can't respond to that, but what if you're responding to MCOB saying, hey, that's not one of the approved variations, that's still engaging with it. So do you ignore that that happens or are you supposed to go out there and be like, squad, we write at dawn, they said MCOB. Like what are we doing here? With this particular— because if we can't engage with it, you know, like, are we allowing that to exist on the internet? Not on my watch. That's in the don't category. So I think that probably some engagement with those terms would be considered okay, all right? But we're just not supposed to post the variation ourselves. So if you are engaging with someone who is using that variety of couple name, um, just make sure you're not repeating the term in your response. Okay, and do not speak about Abigail. We are not speaking. Do not mention Abigail. The fact that we took one of the I's out and replaced it with an asterisk is— this is, this is something. Reveal timeline. Remember, let me post first, AKA Emily posts initial content. There is an acronym in case you need it. It's EPIC. E-P-I-C. Emily posts initial content. All right, everybody wait, wait. All right, I posted, everyone go. Jenny, go. Jessica, go. Erica, go. Okay, you, mm-hmm, whatever your name is, go. Just giving this, what is happening in this? Okay, and here are options for the reveal. We've got tease, launch, and wedding. Okay, tease, an air of mystery, something's coming. If you know, you know, love's in the air. Do not use hashtag Gemily, okay? This is just before the reveal, okay? So as we're teasing the process of someone else's engagement like it's a product launch, do not prematurely use the hashtag because that's just going to mess with the whole rhythm and the whole flow of this, okay? We can use it but only after epic, okay? Epic and then hashtag Gemily, okay? And this— oh, there's a date. So this is 4/2/26, 9 AM Pacific Standard Time. Everyone tease. Everyone tease, everyone tease, but don't tease till I tease. I tease first and then you tease, and then once I'm done teasing, then I post and then you post. Okay? And that brings us to the launch, everyone, which is 20 days later. How long are we teasing? Are we teasing this for 20 days? Is that what's happening here? Okay. Tease, air of mystery, 4/2. Launch, 4/22. This is literally 20 days. Are you expecting them to post every day this teasing? Tell everyone, period. I'm so excited. Small but mighty after events for non-invitees. What? What? What's small? Not the carrot size. She made sure everyone knew that. Okay, so there was a lot of questions about that. What's small? The event? After event for non-invitees. Like, you can't— are we forming a close friends list? I am so confused by these instructions. Anyways, let's just keep moving because there's— we're on what? Photo 3. There's still another photo. There's still another photo. Wedding. The Gemelli wedding. Saturday evening. This date permitted the best guest experience. Do not use 9/11 or Sep 11. What? What? Okay. In the bottom right-hand corner, it says weekend of Friday, September 10th, but she's getting married on Saturday. So she doesn't want anybody to know the actual day. We're not talking about the actual day. No, no, we are simply saying we're getting married the weekend of Friday, September 10th. What day are you getting married? Saturday. So the 11th? Shh, we're not talking about it, okay? That's going with Abigail and the MCOP, okay? So now we have a list of vocabulary terms we are not using: MCOP, Abigail. And September 11th. Those are, those are no-gos. Those are no-gos. This is such a level of over-the-topness that we've talked about on this channel before, where if you over-direct and over-manage your family members, your wedding party members, your friends, anyone who's coming to your event, if you over-explain things like this, it comes across as patronizing. It comes across as very self-aggrandizing. So I appreciate that she created this to a certain extent. Okay. Like y'all know, I love a very well-themed wedding. However, it's not appropriate or practical to expect your wedding party members to use your fonts, to go download them for you, to use your hex codes and post things on their Instagram stories and/or all social medias to tease your engagement. This is weird. This is too much. We have gone too far. People should post if they feel excited about it and/or if they want to. They can be excited without posting. Believe it or not, life exists outside of social media and they're allowed to be excited for you and not say a single thing. But to give them instructions on days and times for when they're supposed to be doing this for your engagement, in my opinion, is just bizarre. All right. Last photo. That was the bride. That was 100% the bride. She's wearing a hat that says Team Girl. That's for a gender reveal. That's not for— okay. I suppose it's a multi-purpose hat. She can hold on to it for her gender reveal, uh, years down the road. Okay, okay, that's great. This— the fact that this is still laminated is hysterical to me. Okay, today's agenda. I love a prepared girly. All right, I don't know what you took 4 meetings to get to this point, but I do love this. Okay, 5:30 mingle, review save the date samples, review photographer samples. 5:45 engagement party brainstorm. 6:00, bridal shower brainstorm, text URLs to Amanda. 6:20, bachelorette party brainstorm and committee formation. Committee formation. How far are we willing to go? Okay. 6:45, attire mood boarding, thinking Pinterest but open to suggestions. Okay. Dusk slash golden hour photo shoot. Like you're taking photos there together? That's a cute moment. Okay. 7:00, brainstorm thank you gifts for bridal party. Something schedule wedding planning dinner. What is— what is this then? And then whatever time cleanup. Okay, okay, okay, okay. There's some elements of this that I don't hate. Okay. I do think it's important to have conversations with your wedding party, especially if you want to do some brainstorming when it comes to dresses or where we want to go for the bachelorette party or those kinds of things. Like, I think it's good and healthy and important to involve them in these conversations. It does come across a little bit too domineering, though, when it's laminated. Okay. And it's put into a schedule form like this. This wedding party get-together could have been an email. It could have been a group chat. It could have been so many other things. And I get the bride is trying to cultivate a group experience. Here's what you have to do when you're cultivating a group experience. You have to make it about the group, not hashtag Gemily, not the Gemily wedding. You have to make it about the group experience. And a lot of this is not feeling very group forward. It's feeling very bride forward. I'm sorry, it's feeling very couple forward. Because there is a J in the Gemelli. Okay, so Jacob's in there somewhere. Like, your bridesmaids don't need to be involved in looking at save the dates. They don't need to be involved in looking at photography samples. They don't need to help you plan your engagement party. Typically they do that planning for you. So like, you don't really even need to be involved unless you truly want to be. Bridal shower brainstorm. I think that makes perfect sense. Yeah, let's talk about it again. This could be an email or a group chat, or you can start a Pinterest board where everyone just starts dumping stuff on there. This could have been a Zoom instead. But again, if you're trying to create culture and bring people together, you have to make it about more people than just yourself. Bachelorette, this one, okay, I might get some flack for this one. I think this was an important question to ask. How far are we willing to go? I think we could have phrased it a little bit differently, okay, just a little bit differently. Um, what are some locations that sound ideal? What would be a good budget to stick to? I think having an open conversation about the location and the cost of a bachelorette weekend or a bachelorette evening is very important for the people who will be paying for it. Okay, because here in the States, most of the time the wedding party members pay their own way and also cover the cost of the couple for any bachelorette or bachelor weekends or events or activities. So it is helpful and it is kind, and I think it's important to invite them into that conversation to say like, hey, what are we thinking? Also like, how much, how much you want to spend on this? But again, we're not approaching it with that air or that attitude or that spirit. We're definitely approaching it more with this idea of like, hey, How much— how far are you willing to go for me? And I think those are two very different things. I love that she's inviting them to attire mood boarding. Again, could have been an email, could have been a group chat, could just be a Pinterest board, but doing it in person could be kind of fun too. What I don't understand is anything after that. Brainstorm thank you gifts for bridal party. You can do that on your own. You don't need to brainstorm gifts for them with them. Okay, that in my opinion is a little bit tacky. So I would prefer you just kind of come up with something or Google it instead of asking all your bridesmaids, hey, what gift would you like to receive from me? For you for all of this, huh? And then schedule wedding planning dinner. What are we doing now? Is this just all the other events? This must be all the other events. This isn't— this has nothing to do with the actual wedding yet, which I can't imagine what that would look like. So this is too much. This is too much. If the tone was different, it could be perceived as wanting to bring people together and have some mingling, some bonding experience, and kind of get everyone on the same page. If that was the intent of the evening, great. We did not establish that through our tone or our directives. We did not establish that by putting the hex codes for our branding, I'm sorry, wedding, and where to download the fonts. And we especially did not do that on the second half or the second two-thirds of that other document that we took a look at. Like, don't mention this, don't say it like this. That could have very easily been a conversation of like, hey, so just to kind of kick things off real quick, guys, I'm not talking with Abigail and the situation kind of hurts and it kind of sucks. So if if you'd be so kind, I just, I just don't really want to talk about it, uh, and I don't really want to think about her not being here or anything like that, just because the whole situation is still, it's still really painful, it's still really raw. So if you could do me a favor and just not. That is a very different spirit. That is a very different, uh, way of communicating. Also, if you were to say out loud, okay, so I, I have a hashtag for the wedding. I know some people think they're cheesy, but I'm really excited about this. I think we're going to use #Gemily. So if you could, like, would you just mind posting that if you ever post about the event? Not, hey, use it when you post teasing the launch of my engagement. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Is there anything I'm missing? Nope. Nope. I don't think so. I just want to make sure. I do know that there is an update, though, and we're not going to go to that just yet. We're not going to go to that just yet. Just gonna have a sip of my latte real quick and then we're going to— we're going to dive into the comments section. I already know this is gonna be an absolute dumpster fire. Okay, wait, to be fair, it looks like only some of the copies of these things are laminated and not all of them are. So it feels less serious. It's not like everyone's taking home a laminated copy of the engagement guide, right? I mean, they might be. I don't know. I don't know. Okay, to the comment section. I'm exhausted just looking at these photos. Respectfully decline and move on with your life. Okay. SNL's writers room would be forced to tone this scene down to make it believable. The realities of our current world making this scene callous. Is the icing on top of this 5-tiered narc cake. OP, bow out with as much grace as you can muster because the fallout of failing this person may be bigger than you fear, but way better than sticking it out. This person says, I want to know what Abigail did. Sorry, Abigail did probably forgot to laminate something. She called him Jamely. This person said choose Helvetica instead of Coolvetica. Excuse me, Emily or Gemily, not sure how to address you. Certainly not, I'm Cobb. It seems as though your branding got a little bit messed up because you did Helvetica instead of Coolvetica, but the hell part makes sense, not the cool part. So just— what? I mentally blacked out reading the cards and itinerary like a launch strategy for some BS pyramid scheme. Edit. I missed the unsanctioned variations part 2. Did she do comms for North Korea? Yeah, 4 Zoom calls to plan a picnic. A picnic with its own agenda. She's treating her wedding like a promotional event for rebranding her new self as if she is some sort of worldwide celebrity. I'm guessing she's a nobody from a small town, Nebraska or something like that. Just wait for the point where she wants her bridal shower to be in the Maldives and the bridal party, young girls in their 20s, are expected to foot the bill of $10,000 to $15,000. Okay, well, that's probably a little bit more aggressive. Same story you hear all the time. Everyone wants this magical experience, but these girls who think the world revolves around them expect their girls to work tirelessly and take out loans to pay for their extravagant experiences. No way. Okay, this is where, this is where the bowels of Reddit kind of, you know, jump into action a little bit. I don't think that that's exactly what this bride is expecting. She's having a conversation with the people around her saying, hey, what do we want to do for the bachelorette experience? It's coming out with a tone of like, hey, how are you going to serve me? Don't worry, this is going to be a great experience for you. Uh, Jury's still out on that, Em. Jury's still out. But I think that when we pendulum swing to the opposite side of this and be like, oh, she's expecting them to take out loans. No, she's very much having conversations with them about what they can and might be spending on this event or, you know, how far they're willing to go, which technically I guess is not a budget-based question, but could be turned into one by a savvy bridesmaid. Okay. Okay. So at least she's inviting conversation around it. That I do appreciate. The rest of it I'm having a hard time with. I know you won't make this difficult is enough for a hard pass. That was my first thought too. Big yikes to that. OP, don't make it difficult, make it super easy by saying no. Oh my gosh, that and this will be a big opportunity for everyone involved. Yeah, that tone, that statement, that got me. I'm like, how? For what? This sounds like— gosh, this sounds like— this sounds like working with influencers as a wedding planner. Or as a vendor when they're like, this will be a great exposure for you. And I'm like, I don't need it. I don't need it. I need money to pay for the roof over my head, and I need money for groceries, and that exposure doesn't pay my bills. That's, that's what this is giving. Um, and have I had this experience before? Sure have. I mean, it's gonna be life-changing. How can you say no to that? OP, say no. I once had a life-changing experience as a bridesmaid. The bride was my best friend of 10 years, and now she's not. Maybe that's what she means. There are many of us. The feminine urge to cut off your BFF after your wedding, I guess. Oh, see, but this is not what we want. We want to create a wonderful experience for your wedding party as well. Goodness gracious, we've got to work on this, y'all. I was maid of honor and I originally said no because I had a newborn, and then I was told I don't have to do anything except show up. Dear reader, this was a lie. Do not use 9/11 or September 11th. Baby girl, you're getting married on 9/11, people will know. I just want to know what the invitations are going to look like, like What are you going to do the day after Friday, September 10th? Like, do you know the amount of people that are going to be confused and the amount of times you are going to have to out loud verbally say, no, the wedding's the next day, so September 11th? Like, you're trying to avoid this whole association with something that happened 25 years ago, almost 25 years ago. Um, wow, I feel very old. Shut it, don't say anything, we're moving on. No. Say nothing. Okay. But instead of just addressing it straight on, you're being weird about it and convoluted, and now you're going to engage in more conversations around it than you initially intended to have. You didn't want anyone to bring it up, and now you're just going to make it worse. So instead, I would just embrace the fact that you're getting married on September 11th. Okay. Okay. I know OP won't make this difficult because I'm certain Emily is the one who is going to make it difficult. Gemily. Um, she clearly states in the laminated guidelines that we are not to use Gemily until we are out of the tease phase. And officially in the launch phase, which begins promptly at 4/22/2026 at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time, which we've passed. Okay, so we can say Gemily now. I'm so curious if this bride is a project manager because this has some level of PM vibes, but also she seems like a PM I would not enjoy working with. The verbiage also makes it seem like a job offer. Sure, they will pay you very little, but it's good for growth and will look good on your resume, but then they will treat you like shit and overwork you, but worse because this is no pay at all. And the laminated guide with specifics on brand assets and elements is cracking me up. Please tell me this person is a marketing PM or branding manager, please. Oh, oh, oh, and life-changing? Your wedding will change my life? What in the main character syndrome every— there's so much to unpack here. Okay, I agree, I agree. This person either has waited their entire life to put together something like this, or they do this professionally, okay? Cuz most people don't even know about hex codes. They just don't, they just don't. And so this— I wonder, I wonder. That's like a threatening message from a mafia don. I'd leave the country. Gemily Corleone. OMG, branding instructions, engagement party planning picnic. If you have to plan a party in order to plan a party, this is going to get out of hand really fast. Run. Yep. Plus 4 Zoom sessions to pre-plan the planning picnic. Girl, I'm tired. Ain't nobody got time for that. Imagine sitting on the Zoom meeting to plan the event, the picnic, to plan the event, the engagement party, to pre-celebrate the event, the wedding. Literally an unpaid full-time job. Whether the bride intended to do this or not, this is very tone-deaf. It's not good. It's not good. What took me out, she gave you hashtags to use for social media. I have a daughter around your age, but your friend sounds completely out of touch based on your post. Giving you fonts to use sounds like you should decline because she's going to control everything the bridesmaids do. Edit: folks, I was at the airport and apparently didn't look hard enough. Emily really be saying you won't make this too difficult. Haha, that's a sure sign she's insufferable. Run, OP. Run. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, here's what happened with Abigail. Another comment: OP says bride found out that Abigail made out with fiancé at a high school party back in high school. Everyone is 23 now. Okay, she's allowed to not invite anyone to her wedding that she doesn't want to invite. I just feel like we could have handled this a teensy bit more different. Okay, I wouldn't be this involved in my own wedding. OMG. Oh, okay, okay. This person saw the same thing. Is this the bride yelling at the groom in the background? Please tell me it is. Now again, it might not be yelling at all, they might be fine, and just could be one of those moments where hands happen to be, you know, moving in a certain way. It doesn't look great, I'm not gonna lie, it doesn't look great. But as someone who films herself in capacity like this for a living, do you want to know how many freeze frames make me look all sorts of crazy? All of them. Very few of them make me look normal. You know what happens when I forget to sit and grab like a natural thumbnail, like just like a— and something where I can just pull a still? From my face when it's just normal looking. It's very difficult to find a normal looking frame of my face where I'm like, oh yeah, that's good enough for a thumbnail. So I am personally intimately aware of how crazy you can look on camera. Uh, but this is not good, it's not great, but also we're gonna give Grace on that one, okay? It's better to tell her now that you can't manage being a bridesmaid than waiting until they've set a date and start working on the actual plans. Like, make it clear you still want to attend the wedding, but with the hectic life you have right now that you just don't have the full capacity to commit to the responsibilities involved with being her bridesmaid, and you would rather that position go to someone who is willing and able to take on the role rather than overextend yourself and risk causing an issue. OP replied, You're making me think I just need to rip the Band-Aid off. Yup, rip that sucker off and do it now and then come back here with a detailed laminated update. There's honestly no way that this post doesn't become the prime result for searches for #GEMILY and similar terms. As soon as the female portion of GEMILY finds out, I think OP won't have to worry about being a bridesmaid. Yeah, well, it's on Sky News now. Oh gosh. Okay. Part of me feels really, really bad for this bride. It's not going to stop me from posting this. Okay. It's not going to stop me from posting this. But I do. I do feel bad. I do feel bad because she's just probably getting roasted by a lot of humans, myself included. Ooh. Okay. Not the a-hole. She is using you all as free event/wedding planners. It's completely inappropriate and unfair and supremely entitled. I would politely decline. And don't try to explain yourself if they pester you for a reason. Just say you will not have the time to be so involved. OP replied, she said she doesn't need a wedding planner because we can do it better. Yep. You need to— you need to go. You need to go because you cannot do it better than a wedding planner. You can't. You can do it without one, but you can't do it better than a wedding planner, period. I'm standing on business. Okay. Oh, that's a massive red flag. The wedding industry is a nightmare to navigate and is all designed to extract as much money from the new couple as possible. No, it's not. Okay. There's a difference. There is budget weddings, there's moderate weddings, there's luxury weddings, and there's ultra-luxury weddings. Okay. If you know which tier you fall into, you can budget accordingly and seek out vendors accordingly. If you have a budget wedding and you're seeking out luxury photographers and luxury venues, it's not going to work out well in your favor. But if you stay within the appropriate budget for what you have allocated, then you won't be looking at any of these higher tier vendors or venues, and then you'll be just fine. Okay? Okay. We need to know more about Abigail. OP said, basically, from what I heard, Abigail made out with fiancé at a high school party and it was nothing, but she wasn't having it and didn't want to hear her name ever again. All right. Well, we haven't heard from OP, I guess. Okay. Also, don't use 9/11, then don't get married on 9/11. The weekend of 9/10 is so wild. It is. And it's just going to create an administrative nightmare for this couple to be like, no, yeah, yes, mm-hmm, no, we're getting married the day after 9/10. If she has Reddit, you've just told her. I'm sorry, but the brand guidelines for the absolute worst wedding branding I've ever seen. Yeah, let's not, let's not, let's not. "Happy friend." Although that frog font at least is not blingtastic script, right? Right. But to each their own. Now, before we leave, I do want to make sure that we cover the update real quick. Okay, oh my gosh, we are in the weeds of these comments. Update. Another handwritten note. Same handwriting, okay. "I can't believe you would post what you did and embarrass me with your toxic lies. Never speak to me or anyone I know again. And just FYI, as unhinged and rude as you are, you can't take away from #Gemily's potential." "don't be nervous..." "Love always, Emily." What in the passive-aggressive? There's flowers. There's flowers and a note, a torn note from inside a journal that I'm assuming was inside this card that says "you're never getting rid of me." What is happening? Okay, uh, thank you for all the comments everyone. I had no idea the post would take off like that. I read as many as I could. I just wanted to update You that the day I made the post, Emily blocked me on everything, and to be honest, I figured that might happen. Like I said before, we were close, but it wasn't recently— middle school— and this kind of felt like being roped into something. I was fine with it and then came home to flowers and a note today. I wasn't that freaked out because I know a lot of you said she was threatening, but she's not going to actually do anything besides run a smear campaign. Her folks also own a couple restaurants locally, which I would think I am banned from, but won't go and find out. Great. The reason I'm not freaked out, because Abigail also sent me a DM and we ended up talking on the phone. She said it's a lot more complicated what happened with her, but she was reassuring that she didn't think Emily would actually do anything besides badmouth me a lot. She said she might share her side of the story soon, but was also considering letting sleeping dogs lie. Thanks for the update. I'm just happy to be out of this and I feel supported by everyone. Thanks for understanding. This is wild. This is wild. Okay, so I don't— I have nothing. I have no takeaways for you. Don't do that. Don't do that. If the bride was intending to create bonding experiences and/or a collaborative experience, that was not the tone that was, uh, that came across. Okay, um, the branding to each his own. Not my favorite, definitely not, not, uh, not on my list of top 100 colors, but I appreciate her wanting to have a, uh, you know, a cohesive theme across the board. Don't do this. Don't do this. It's this kind of stuff, guys, that makes everyone say the wedding industry is out of control. No, most of them are fine. Most people are fine. It's just occasionally you get, you get something like this where you go, uh-oh, that's a bit much. That's a bit much. Okay, we're gonna give grace to this bride because I bet you, bet you, bet you she did not intend for it to come across this aggressive. I bet you she didn't. But I only bet like $5. I'm not gonna bet a high amount, okay? Because I can, I can afford to lose $5. Okay, I can afford to lose $5. I don't know about you, but I hope today's video was just as euphoric, magical challenging and life-changing for you as it was for me. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below. Uh, I know y'all tend to think that I go a little easy on the people in some of these posts, but they're still people. They're still real people. And, um, perhaps the intention was great and just got lost in communication and tone. But as always, let me know your thoughts in the comments down below. Okay, what do you think? This bridesmaid the a-hole? I don't— I don't think so. I think we're all gonna be in agreement on that one. I do think that we could have maybe preserved the anonymity a little bit better. We wouldn't have had the hashtag tag moments and the phrases we're allowed to use and not allowed to use, but it could have made it just a little bit more private. But according to the bride, it's all toxic lies anyways, right? The laminated paper is, is lies. But don't worry, this bridesmaid's missing out a lot. Anyways, I could keep unpacking this for hours. We just need to call it. That's what we have for today's video, guys. Thank you so much for watching.
