A bride spent $4,000 on her 2024 wedding photographer and regrets not investing more or finding someone whose style matched her vision. She wishes she'd gotten more front-facing couple shots, bridal portraits, and given the photographer a detailed inspiration list to work from.

Things I regret for my 2024 wedding. I would have budgeted more for a photographer. I paid, I think, like $4,000 for my photographer, and that included like a video of the ceremony. Don't get me wrong, I loved my photographer. I'm saying nothing bad about my photographer. They're— my photos were great. However, I just wish I spent a little bit more time and more of my budget, to be honest, searching for a photographer that fit my long-term visions for my wedding photos. I wish I had gotten more front-facing photos of myself and my husband. Um, I wish I had done more time for bridal portraits. I feel like my husband got a lot. I feel like I didn't really— I maybe had like 2 or 3. I wish I had more of an inspo list that I showed my photographer and directed them more on like what I wanted. But again, I don't think if you find the right photographer for you, like, you're not going to have to direct them. You're not going to have to give them like a super detailed inspo list. I think that that just comes along with spending more time and energy into finding your perfect fit for your photographer and not just looking for somebody in your budget, if that makes sense. That's definitely one of my ultimate biggest regrets.
