Jamie Wolfer shows how to cut wedding floral costs in half by mixing DIY wholesale flowers with dollar-store fillers like $1.25 hurricane vases and Italian ruscus. A $1,350 budget becomes $675, or spend $700 on pre-ordered bouquets from 50Flowers and DIY the centerpieces instead.

I would say you could probably DIY your florals and get all of them wholesale for $200, $300, $400, $500, $600 if you are willing to DIY them. If you're not sure where you land on the DIY scale of florals, I do have a floral quiz. I'll go ahead and link it right here for you. But you're not going to find a professional that's going to do it at this cost. So you will have to get creative with this. So either simplify your expectations. Let's go to Dollar Tree or Dollar General. Let's get those hurricanes that they have for like what, $1.25. Let's get some floating candles or some pillar candles in those bad boys, and let's get some Italian ruscus and just lay it gently on the tables to kind of fill in the space of where a centerpiece might be. And then we're drastically reducing your overall floral cost and your DIY efforts that you need to be putting into this. So with $1,350 for that category, I would say honestly cut that in half and put the other half towards something else. And with $700, you have so much money to work with when it comes to florals. You can even probably very likely pre-buy your bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres from a lot of locations like 50Flowers, etc., that will send you pre-made items so you don't have to DIY your personal arrangements, but you could instead put your DIY efforts into your centerpieces.
