If you've been around for a minute, then you know one of my notorious things that I did for my wedding was I looked at— guys, this is before I planned weddings professionally, okay? I looked at the cost of linens online and I was like, what? That's the same cost as buying them. I fell for this myth hook, line, and sinker, baby. I ordered all of my tablecloths. I think they were about $12 apiece at the time. And when I got them, I was like, yeah, they look like the same thing. They look like the real deal. Spoiler alert, they were, they were not the same. They were not the same thing. They were a much cheaper material and almost impossible to iron. It took 45 minutes to an hour per tablecloth to get them ironed flat with just the creases they came with from shipping. Okay? I couldn't launder them. I couldn't toss them in the dryer like a little bit wet to see if those wrinkles would come out. No, they needed to be manually hand ironed and I had 14 tables. I fell into this trap so hard because I was like, it doesn't make sense. Why would I pay all that money? Oh, Because guess who had to set them up? Guess who had to tear them down? Guess who had to iron them for hours? And guess who tried to sell them afterwards to no avail? To no avail. Actually, that last one's on me. I'm just really bad at selling stuff or returning it.
