I'm Natalie Moore, and this is 5 things you need to cultivate total wellness. It's not diet, exercise, sleep, or meditation. Number 1: Intentionality. Living on autopilot will not lead you to a life of well-being and fulfillment. When you have a purpose in life, everything else falls into place, including your wellness routines. Intentionality is like knowing where you want to go. Number 2: Mindfulness. Mindfulness is bringing a curious awareness to your present moment experience. So in order to stay connected to that purpose, we have to listen to our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations on a moment-to-moment basis. Mindfulness is like that internal GPS system that helps you get there. Number 3: Connection. No man is an island. We evolved as social social beings, and in order to be fully happy and healthy, we must have deep, loving connections with others. Connection is like the hiking companion who you share the experience with. Oh hey! Yeah, you want to meet at the trailhead at 7:30? Can we do 9 instead? Number 4: Resilience. We know that life throws all kinds of curveballs that can get in the way of us living a happy, healthy life. So much of the process is being kind to yourself when you make mistakes, getting back on track, being persistent, and knowing that you're not perfect. Resilience is like the physical, mental, and emotional strength and grit you exert to stay committed to that trail even when the going gets tough. And it might even mean attending to your wounds along the way. Number 5: Enjoyment. As adults, we can get so stuck on goal-oriented thinking that we forget to just play and have fun in the moment. Enjoyment is like getting to the top of that mountain, seeing the beautiful views, being proud of yourself for all of your efforts, taking time to smell the flowers, and hey, maybe even taking some great summit selfies. Thank you so much for watching, and I wish you total wellness.
