The Secret Reason AI Will Never Replace You

AI won't replace you because most people use it as a shortcut instead of doing the hard work that actually builds businesses. The wheel didn't eliminate transportation, it just became a tool everyone uses. Real advantage comes from the painful work others avoid: defining what makes you unique, mastering sales, and thinking better than your competition.

This whole theory that AI is going to replace everybody's jobs is quite dumb. I'm going to explain why in a second. We're going to go and get these fixed. I'll tell you why AI is not going to change anything at all. We need some shoes though. What do you think? Good shoes? Yeah? Okay. Everyone says AI is going to be the future and it is. It's not actually going to replace anybody. There's lots of benefits. You'll probably see all of these videos all over YouTube talking about ways that AI can be used and how it's going to revolutionize the world. And it's true. It's revolutionary. But the way that it's being described and the way that most people seem to be treating it and thinking about it is completely flawed and completely wrong. Our brains are wired to save as much energy as possible. We are constantly looking for ways to do less work and make life easier for ourselves. And there's someone about to join this elevator, so I'm gonna shut up for a second. Sorry. Don't worry. As a result, it means that we are always looking for the easy way out, if that makes sense. We are always looking to do as little as possible and get the maximum output. And for lots of people, that means not doing the thing at all. So because we're always looking to save energy, most people in business tend to avoid hard problems, just difficult problems, things that they need to fix in their business or need to work on in their business, but just don't because it requires a lot of effort. It requires a lot of thought, like making content, like filming this video. This is a huge positive in business, but also a huge negative at the same time. It's a positive because by being lazy, you find ways to gain more leverage. So you find ways to get more out of the work that you're doing on a daily basis. This is how companies grow. This is how businesses get built. Businesses find more efficient ways to do things. This is a necessary evil in lots of cases, and it's an evil because also means the things that are really difficult tend to get avoided by most people. And the really, really successful operators, like people that run companies, often are the ones are doing the hardest things, the stuff that nobody else wants to do because it's difficult and because it requires a lot of pain to experience. And you'll see really successful entrepreneurs like Elon Musk talking about this concept about the, the idea running companies being like eating glass because you're constantly faced with challenges and really painful challenges and they're just not fun to deal with lots of the time. But you have to do them if you want to be successful, if you want to carry out your mission or whatever your purpose may be. My gate's broken. I guess we're filming the rest of the video here. Hey, these things are never getting fixed. So this wiring, this human instinct that we have is, yeah, great, but also terrible at the same time. I see this in businesses all the time. If, You're in e-commerce, so you might have seen some ads by a company called For Good Profits. Shout out to those guys because their ads are great and they have, they have these hooks that are constantly relating to essentially the bad experiences that people might have with bad marketing agencies. And usually this is caused by people that shouldn't be hiring a marketing agency and a marketing agency that shouldn't be working with a certain brand starting to work together. And you'll see this happen to a lot of, let's say, early e-commerce businesses. I'm thinking e-commerce businesses doing less than $1 million a year in revenue. So they'll go out and they'll hire an agency to try to solve a problem for them. And usually the problem that they're trying to solve by hiring a marketing agency is growing their revenue. And they'll do all of this work with the agency and then it doesn't work. These businesses are left scratching their heads, upset, and looking at tens of thousands of dollars, hundreds of thousands of dollars that they might have burnt on shit marketing campaigns. Unfortunately, it's not really anyone's fault. These e-commerce brands and these marketing agencies aren't experienced enough to know that they shouldn't be working together in the first place. Well, the guy in these ads essentially says after, you know, hooking you in with these typical things that you might hear from marketing agencies, all these typical stressful situations that e-commerce brand owners go through, that you need to light the fire for your business. And essentially what he's getting at is, as a business owner, you need to create the thing that makes the business unique. Your business isn't unique just because you pick up some sunglasses from a manufacturer in China and you sell them. That is not making the world more efficient in any way. And the truth is, they have typically trying to grow without having anything special. There's no reason for them to grow. They haven't lit a fire. They haven't created something that excites people and makes people want to get involved in something and support the company, become a customer or work at the company and actually do a great job and build the company itself. An example of these people avoiding responsibility. They're avoiding some of the work that is required and must be done if a company is going to be successful. And they're avoiding it because it's difficult. It's hard to figure out how to make a company unique and how to come up with a value proposition that is different to the rest of the market. However, it is required in order for a company to be successful. And the most successful companies in the world do this really well. You have All of these people avoiding hard shit and they're avoiding it and as a result they're experiencing way, way, way more pain in the form of lost money, lost hair, wrinkles all over their face, and lots of tears because they don't want to do the actual hard thing of understanding what the issue with their business is and then addressing that issue head on. And instead they're just trying to make it somebody else's problem. They think if they can just hire this magic person, their business will be fixed. And it's the same if let's say you were to start an agency, a bit of a company like mine, but you never wanted to do sales. You were too scared to get on a call with somebody and actually just speak with them and talk about the ways that you can benefit their business. It would be almost impossible to grow. Now, in certain cases, founders of companies find people and collaborate with people. Maybe they become co-founders or they're a day one hire, and this person is able to, to do what they are not. They are an excellent salesperson and they can bring in new business for the company without the founder having to do anything. However, that usually is not the case in probably about 95% of scenarios. You definitely see edge cases is where you see these companies that are started and somebody is just a really, really good software developer and they hire the other roles and positions required to make the company successful. However, again, this is an edge case and this isn't very common. We'll even get businesses that come to us at Flax that should not be hiring a marketing agency. And most of these people don't even make it onto a call with us in the first place. But those that do get turned away most of the time. The reason they get turned away is because they do not fundamentally have the business foundation that is required in order for marketing to be successful for them and they think that just hire somebody to run their ads, their business is going to be worth tens of millions of dollars. You then have something like AI come along and there's all this excitement about how it's going to replace all of this work that we have to do. But if you go back in time and you look at new technology that is pretty revolutionary, that gets invented and becomes popular, becomes widely used, you'll see that it doesn't really change anything. And what I mean by this is if we take the wheel as an example, when before the wheel was invented, if people wanted to move things around, they had to drag them. And they'd use things like logs to roll giant blocks of stone around. And it would require a lot of people, a lot of work. It would be painful, probably not that efficient. And then one day the wheel comes along and suddenly all the people that drag rocks around don't need to do that anymore and they don't have a job. But what's funny is the people that used to drag rocks around have this new technology that allows them to pull more rocks. The task may no longer exist, but it doesn't mean the job of transportation disappeared. What happens every single time new technology comes along like a phone or like cars or like absolutely anything else is a task gets replaced. Something that people do gets replaced, but it doesn't necessarily replace the objective or the need for somebody to still be responsible for this objective. Like transporting goods. There are still huge delivery systems all over the world. When the task gets replaced, nobody dies. In fact, every year more and more people are born. So the human population continues to grow despite all of this new technology coming along that replaces the work that we do as humans. There's still the same amount of food. There's still the same amount of water. There's still a beautiful planet with a sun that rises and sets every single day. So nothing really fundamentally changes about the world. The thing that actually changes is things we do on a daily basis. The work that we do on a daily basis might evolve slightly. The invention of AI isn't going to make businesses more profitable or get you more customers. In fact, it's not really going to change anything. The reason is because technology becomes available to everybody. So as this new AI is invented, the ability to use it becomes available almost everybody, just like phones and computers. Now, if you weren't using a phone and a computer in today's modern world, you'd be behind and you can still be really successful, but it's probably going to be a little harder than the average. So what happens is this new technology becomes the average and you might have this little initial inflection point where there's an advantage for being one of the earliest people on it. And that's really just being good at identifying trends, catching them, and then taking advantage of them. Them as they come about, but it's not really going to do anything else for you. Technology comes along, the average stays the same. There's a little sunshine era where if you happen to be using this technology, you have an advantage over all of those that don't have access to that technology. But as this technology becomes better and more popularized, more effective and more widely used, the average goes from here up to here and the average is still the average. So nothing really has changed. So if you actually want to beat the average, it comes from your thoughts and the actions that you take on a daily basis and the work that you do. In fact, AI won't do anything to help you because AI is slowly becoming the new normal and using AI for executing tasks and getting work done the same way that you use a computer to access the internet will become the standard. However, new technology will tear you to shreds if you're not using it. So if you want to be successful and if you want to beat the average, you need to be on the forefront of this. This. You need to be using the new technology as it comes out, and you need to be doing the hard stuff. And what I'm actually getting at with this video— AI, like any new technology, isn't going to kill anybody. It's not going to replace the need for jobs and for a workforce. In fact, there's going to be more people on the planet, so there's going to be even more jobs. There'll be more companies, there'll be more money in circulation, and as a result, nothing's really changed. So people talk about AI like it's gonna save them and like it's gonna do something for them, like it's gonna be able to, to transform life in some way because they won't have to do this hard work that they don't want to do anymore. But the problem is, if everybody's going to be using it, then you will be at a disadvantage if you are not really good at it. And if you're going to be successful, you're going to have to be creative. You're going to have to think differently. So what I'm getting at with this entire video is, if you want to be successful with something, you need to address the painful stuff. You need to address the fundamental reason you're looking to avoid doing something specifically, like making content 10%, or starting that business, or having a hard conversation that you don't want to have. And you need to understand why you're trying to avoid this in the first place and why it's painful to you. And then you need to go and do it. Stop looking for things that are going to help you avoid painful stuff like doing work, and stop looking at new technology and these new trends that are constantly being blasted all over social media as ways to replace the difficult things that you don't want to do, like AI doing work for you. Because ultimately AI will be able to do work for you, and AI is going to do tons and tons of great stuff for us, but it's not going to replace the need for you to go and do the hard things and the difficult things. If you're going to have a successful life and you're going to follow your mission and follow your heart and reach your fullest potential, then AI isn't what's going to get you there. It's this up here. So that's the video. And if you still think that AI is somehow going to drastically change your life, then I wish you luck. I'm kidding. That's mean.
