Abu Lahya: How I Started Making Money at a Young Age #muslim #entrepreneur #business #islam

Eyoub started chasing money at seven after his sister said he'd be wealthy, then turned it into action at fifteen with side jobs: waiting tables, accounting in a bakery, mowing lawns. He noticed he made €10 an hour in one job but $20 for hours elsewhere, which pushed him to find better ways to earn halal income.

I think I was 7 years old. I asked my family, my sister, my mom, I was like, why would you guys see me when I was older? They're like, you're probably not going to do something normal or like usual. My sister said a thing that was crazy. She was like, I don't know why, but I know you'll somehow be making money. I'll see you be like, be driving like a fully blacked-out Mercedes and like doing whatever you want on a random Wednesday afternoon. I was like, really? And that random thing stood out to me and I was like, okay, That's somehow I can work towards and I believe I could do. Did you do some kind of hustle when you were teenagers? I wasn't doing side hustles because I didn't really care about the ways I would do certain things. I just knew I wanted to make money. For me, I always knew I wanted to make money. I'd say it came a bit later, like around 15, 16 years old. I started getting every single possible ways of making money. I was a waiter in a restaurant. I got side jobs. I would walk into a place and just say, like, what can I do to make money? Whatever it is, is halal, I just do it and make money. I just started doing this more and more, and then it was just like, how can I make more money? How can I make more money? And just kept doing this. I worked in a bakery doing accounting, like some mad things, and I was getting paid like €10 an hour, like cash in hand. I used to go to a like private school, and all the guys around had rich neighbors, or like their parents knew rich people, and it was like, oh yeah, just mow the lawn and I get paid $50. I like, what? I've been doing a mad thing for like hours and I just get paid like $20? Like I never had— I don't want to say handouts, but, you know, easier. And that pushed me to, okay, figure out a way to do it more, figure out a way to do it better. The feedback I had from people around me pushed me to like, yeah, I think I should.
