Abu Lahya: How to Stay Ahead of the Competition #muslim #entrepreneur #business #islam

Eyoub and Lahmoubarak argue that speed beats focus and consistency. They show how Lahmoubarak furnished a Dubai apartment in 48 hours, and say entrepreneurs should shrink deadlines and move faster than competitors to win.
You can go to any country in the world and you can see how the paper works there. Then another day you can go to Dubai.
So focus is the first main thing when it comes down to consistency. Staying consistent, staying disciplined during the hard times, you know. But the other thing which is also very important, which is number 2, is like staying ahead of your competition. I mean, you're still competing with big businesses like constantly, you know, especially when you want to scale. You are like— this is competition. So staying ahead of your competition means speed. Action, like decision-making right ahead. I mean, focus, discipline, all these kinds of things are nice when you're facing struggle, but if you're crying in the corner and— Another entrepreneur is like adapting, right?
Yeah. Focus is just staying on the same thing. You got rewarded once because you were doing a bunch of things and then you changed and you got something right. That's the only time it was okay to change. Then you stop changing. You just focus on doing the thing. That's what focus is. It's where you sell cans for 15 years and then you sell it for 100. It's focusing on the main thing. But then there are some people who focus on the main thing that still don't get results. Why? Because they're slow and speed is how you stay ahead. You get quick feedback loops, you reach out to your clients quickly, you reach out to your customers quickly. Everything you're doing, whatever deadline you have, shrink it down. Whatever feedback loop you have, shrink it down, get really things quickly. And a good advice to see about speed is look at the people ahead of you and look at how fast they're moving. I mean, let's take a huge example. Let's look at cities in general or countries in general. You can go to any country any country in the world and you can see how the paper works there, how everything works over there, how the overall system works there. And then another day you can go to Dubai. We can actually have a very interesting story about you. You, Lahmoubarak, got a new apartment here, completely empty, right? You joined, it was completely empty. No furniture, nothing. 48 hours after that, you got the whole thing built out, the whole thing. I visited Lahmoubarak's, it looks amazing. That's when you actually see, okay, this is why Dubai is the fastest growing country, because they got speed to look at the big picture, to look at how other people, how fast they move, and they are applying it to their own scale.
