Abu Lahya: How Muslims Should Educate Their Children #muslim #entrepreneur #business #islam

Abu Lahya credits his success to his parents' hands-on education, not money. His mother spent 20 years homeschooling despite having a doctorate. He argues Muslim parents should prioritize teaching their children character, confidence, and practical skills over financial provision.

The way you bring up your children, like the way you educate them, is going to make them— like, you can make your child anything that you want. Literally, if you want your kid to be the best in the world at whatever, you can. I'm saying this because this is what happened to me. 101% of what I do or what I achieve is from the education I had. Of course, from Allah (SWT), but then from the education I had, not from like me figuring things out or whatever it is like. Not at all. Not that my parents like taught me business or anything. My dad is like a taxi driver and my mom is a stay-at-home wife. But the way it was educating me, building me, that's why I feel so indebted to them. It's like they spend their whole life— my mom spent 20+ years even though she had a doctor's degree, staying at home to educate us and spend her time being, okay, I'm gonna spend my time building the best children. And then once you not only realize that as a child you want to go crazy because like, yeah, she spent 20 years doing that. I'm not just going to be like working on the computer and not having anything going on for me. I can't. Like I said, I wasted all this time for her. And also that gives you like all the self-confidence, the skill set, the logic. And the reason why I wanted to mention this, I'm saying this as I was a kid and realized, and now I realize it, that was because of this. If you have children, you can do the same thing, and it would be by far the best gift you could ever do them. Of course, aside from Islam, etc. But when it comes to practical things for them to get in the world. You could try and leave them as much money as you want or try and set them up as much as you want. Nothing else would be as beneficial as spending your time and crafting their education in a way that would make them the best people.
