Abu Lahya explains how to price your services by starting with what you're already good at and the problems you've solved before. Match your strengths to market demand, then focus on wealthy clients who have that specific problem. Separating profit from passion leads to burnout.

If you're looking at how much money you can charge and how much money you can make, there's you that's over here and you have a lot of presets. You have your passions, you have your skills and everything, right? A lot of people when they want to start a business, they take this, they shrink it and leave it on the side and then they try and create a new themselves and have a new preset and try and relearn everything. Whereas you could just look at all the stuff that you know already, the skills that you already have, the passions that you already have, the things that you actually enjoy and that you actually can solve. You can just trace back the life that you had and look, okay, last year, what was the biggest problem that I solved? What's the main thing that I achieved? I'm pretty sure I can help someone else achieve the same thing. Or what's something I'm really knowledgeable about? Personally, for me, it was marketing. I knew exactly how to market. I could come and sell anything. I could sell water to a fish. Now the thing is, I was lucky enough to like something that also helps make a lot of money. But just like you said, you had passions for designs. Now someone could say, okay, I'm passionate about design and then I'll design on the weekend and I'll do this on the weekend and I'll do this on the side when I have time. But for business, I'll try and find something else. And that's, I think, one of the main mistakes that people have. That's how they end up saying, I make money with that. I don't really like what I do, et cetera. So if you want to enjoy your business, you can match your passions with your business. And the way to do this is exactly like Tom mentioned. You want to look at the presets that you already have, the problems that you already know how to solve, the skills that you already have, and then look on the market for people that would need those problems. And an advice— this is golden nugget— you want to look for the richest people in your market that have this specific problem.
