You know who's actually the best on planet at retention? It's not YouTubers, it's not people who make short films and whatever, it's not even movies. You know who it is? It's series. Have you ever seen how long the live series are? Breaking Bad is like 5 series of 10 episodes, or I don't know how many. They're trying to get you to watch 100 episodes of an hour. They're trying to hook 100 hours of your attention. Look at how they engineer the introductions, look at how they engineer their previews of the series, look at how they engineered the first episodes compared to the other ones. Breaking Bad, in fact, put most— they were smart, they put most of their efforts into the first episode because they said, I know that if I can get people to finish the first episode, the likelihood of people watching the whole thing multiplies by whatever number I forgot. And I think it was, if we can get somebody to get to episode 3, the likelihood of them finishing the whole series gets to like 90-something percent. So now the only thing they have to figure out is how can I make 3 episodes that blow your mind, and then I don't care about whatever I do after because you're gonna watch it anyway. And then they put all the efforts towards this. So that's another way of you looking into different industries, seeing how to do it, and applying it at your own scale with whatever you're doing. Because at the end of the day, it's human psychology. The same human who's watching a movie, the same human who's watching a TV series, the same human who's watching Subi Subi Ask is the human who's gonna open your emails. So if he got hooked by this, understand why And then hook him with a similar concept and just apply it with a different way. So if it's emails and you can't do like a visual hook because you can't make your email start scrolling and rent running, then find a way to create the same emotions, replicate the same things.
