A short YouTube monologue by Ming @ Agents of Speech summarizing factors that correlate with increased autism risk. The speaker (non-expert) lists parental older age, high stress during pregnancy, and biological sex (male) as associated with higher autism rates, and mentions elevated risk patterns in male–female twins. The speaker emphasizes these are correlations and not definitive, preventable causes.

There's loads of things that talk about what causes autism. A lot of start to think, is it our vaccines, is that our food is our water? I'll tell you the things that are semi correlated, okay? I'm not going into conspiracy theories about like heavy metals or whatever. Obviously that does have its role. I'm not a doctor, I'm not a scientist, I'm not expert. But the first one is if you're rearing a child at an older age, that increases the risk of everything, including autism. Right. Second is that if you're having a lot of stress during pregnancy, also increases the risk of your child having anything. Third thing is that having a boy is going to increase that risk by a lot because 70% of autistic people are male. What shoots up even more is if you have a twin who is one male, one female, the male has a much higher likelihood of autism. I'm just telling you what some of the facts out there there's no way of preventing. There's no way of you deciding to only have a daughter. You cannot choose when you get pregnant.
