Getting Rid of Echolalia | https://bfcm.agentsofspeech.com/bundle

Ming explains how to reduce echolalia in young children by finding root causes and teaching play skills that naturally prompt language instead of repetition. One parent reported an 80% reduction in two weeks and complete disappearance within two months using this play-based approach.

Okay. Hey, guys. Welcome to our Monday live videos. And I just wanted to say happy Thanksgiving. And I think that's the thing, because it's more of American thing, and I don't really know what to say. So if you had your turkey, great. If you had a great Thanksgiving weekend, that's just great news to me. We don't celebrate it here, but anyways, so today's topic is about echolalia. And recently we had a. If you are inside of our courses, you go to our Facebook group and you will see that a parent recently shared that. Oh. By trying some of the techniques we talk about in the courses, she actually was able to decrease echolalia by 80%. And she was very proud to say, like, oh, man, I'm very happy to give you the numbers because she's been counting as a typical Asian would do. Yes. Hello, Good morning to Muna, who's watching. And as we get more people here to. I'll share a lot more. And so 80% down with echolalia. Typical Asian statistics, you know, like so. And I asked her, yo, okay, I get it. So which part of the whole course is called word combiners? You can check it out at Agent of Speech. But actually we have a bundle. If you click on the link in the title and the description, you can go there and check it out. It's just 33% off for all the courses bundled up. Okay. And we have two types of bundles. And you can see one of it is the thing I'm talking about today to get rid of echoladia is the word combiners course. Another is from zero to words to teach your child to start imitating words, words and sounds. Right? So let's talk about getting rid of echolalia. So the kid, before learning from work on binders, what happened was that he would just be in his own world and start, like, talking to himself and everything, Right? So it's kind of difficult for. It's kind of difficult for anyone to intervene when that happens, because when a kid starts echoing, they're pretty much in their own world. When you talk to them, they don't care about you and what you do then. Right? So a lot of the times what parents think is very reactive, meaning, oh, when this happens, I will do this. Meaning when they. When they echo, then I should be stopping them. Right? But what you should do and what helps with a lot of behaviors and language and speech and everything is to actively teach them something else as a way to teach them. So, for instance, if someone is. Has a compulsive like compulsive behavior of, I don't know, like biting their fingernails like that. Okay, let's just talk about that, right? Or let's just talk about fingernails. So every time if we catch them and we tell them something and they stop, that doesn't solve the problem, right? There's always a root cause. So in. Have you guys heard of Toyota? Like the car brand? So Toyota came up with like the five whys kind of method, which is something that we kind of do in the therapy world as well. So what is it? So first you have to ask why is there echolalia? Okay, so the first, why, why is it echolalia? Because there's nothing else to do, right? Second, why, why is there. Why is there nothing else to do? Because he or she doesn't know how to play with toys. Because there's toys everywhere. They're just not playing it. So why do they not play with toys? Okay, because they don't know how to play with toys, right? They don't find it fun, they don't like playing it. Okay, so why is that? Why is that? They don't like toys, they don't like playing with it, they don't know how to use it. Well, number five question, why is that? Right? The number five reason is that, well, because no one ever taught them. So therefore that's the solution after asking five whys, and the story goes, like Toyota became like the giant corporation today is because they use this 5 wise to diagnose all machines that they make, right? So it's the same that we can use with teaching children, no matter if they're on the spectrum off teaching them like speech sounds, whatever that you're teaching them, you need to ask why? Until you find a root cause. And the root cause is where you do the work. Not by teaching and learning, by actually by teaching. Symptomatic approach, what we call, right? If you have a fever, put an ice pack on your forehead. Doesn't work, right? You need to deal with the virus, deal with the bacteria, whatever, or the flu or whatever, right? So for echolalia, now you know the reason why people echo usually is because they have nothing else to do, okay? So teach them to do something else. And don't only catch them to do, don't only catch them when they do so, right? So let me just show you what the parent wrote real quick. Here we go. So if you can see it, right? So let me read it. My son is 3 years and 5 months old who had echolalia and I was told he lacked social reciprocity by his teacher. After implementing Ming's plays play based approach with my son, I noticed an 80% decrease in echolalia within two weeks. Two months into play based program, I didn't notice any echolalia at all. My son has improved from speaking two to three words to three to five word sentences. He is able to express his wants, knees, feelings, describe items and events. Next, I'm going to train him sequencing and storytelling skills. We had so much fun playing together and our relationship improved tremendously. Recently he told me I love you, mama, without an being prompted before returning to his coloring book. That's crazy. She didn't write that. I'm saying it. He also starts to greet teachers, peers, guests, strangers, hello and good morning goodbye. Makes elearning experiences extremely effective. I don't want to read this because it sounds like I'm like just whatever myself. So I'm going to skip this part. Toys, we use Lego kitchen set, dollhouse play. D'oh. Mr. Potato Head Car park. We also use potty training without being prompted. After she watched and implemented the tips from Ming's bonus Polytrain. Yeah, that's pretty effective. I'm pretty happy with that. So anyways, not to like how to say overly chew my own horn, right? So as you can see, if you can teach a child to start to learn how to play and teach them how to play first and then put the language in and then what they will do is not echo is to actually play and use language in their play sequences, which is the best way. Because the best. If you think about when we were kids, your mom, like, I don't know, we had a toy box or whatever and we would just go there and spend time at the toy box and we would play and imagine things and talk to ourselves. Maybe sometimes like we go and then we talk a bit. A bit. Especially if you have siblings, then you would talk a lot with the siblings and make up stories and whatnot and say, hey, you should do that. We should do that. And this is where the language learning really kicks in. Okay. And if you know, like, you need to think about play skills as a system of using and learning language. Right. If you don't have play skills, don't know how to use toys, then at the end of the day what's going to happen is that a lot of kids will start to echo the things that they find interesting over the Internet or online. Right. So to tackle that, you have to teach them a better way of playing. Get it? So this is where we teach a lot within word combiners course. And we call it, I call it milieu or whatever. You don't, don't know how you pronounce it. Milo or whatever. My little learning. Learning. It's French. My French is real bad. And this is how we like, we do it. We teach them a play sequence and we don't focus on the talking, which is counterintuitive because parents will always think, oh man, I need to get them to talk. Just any effort to squeeze words and sentences out of them is very short term thinking. Long term thinking should be teach them how to play, enjoy their time with us, and then move on. Right? So that's something you have to remember. Always start off with the plane. Good. Okay. So that aside, we have a special bundle that you can get which has all the, all the courses that the mom was talking about just now inside of her testimonial. You can get it at the link I put at the top. It's long. It's like bfcm, like Black Friday, Cyber Monday. I just paste it one more time for you guys. It's so long that I can't even say it. So it's like bfcm.agentsofspeech.com bundle. It's right here. Go ahead and take a look at it. We're only doing it one time. Okay. We're probably not gonna make it a thing to bundle because, you know, it's. It's 33 off because of Thanksgiving. And since everyone's doing a discount nowadays, like, why not? Because a lot of parents are like, hey, can do you have a bundle? Like, it's. I never do things because I think it's a good idea. I only do things because people ask me. And that's why after this bundle, we're coming at December, the last month of the year 2021. Crazy that we got through 221 so fast. So for some reason, I don't know why, though. You're just shot by, right? What we're going to do in Agents of Speech is to teach verbal reasoning and storytelling in a new course. And you will see it pretty soon. I'm going to work my butt off. Not going to swear here. And you're going to see it soon. So leave me any questions about, like, teaching children how to tell stories whatnot and let me know what's going on. The second thing I'm working on is also a speech masterclass. Not really masterclass, but a crash course to learn if your child, like, has problems with like, speech Pronunciation, so what Whatnot. Then you can take a look and learn and be well versed before you see a speech therapist. The last thing I'm working on is a quiz that you don't need to DM me anymore and like type out a wall of text of your life story and send me your child's assessment report. That is like violating a few privacy like ethic codes within our. Our profession. I rather you don't. Although you sending me the assessment means you trust me a lot and I love that. But at the same time, it's not sustainable if, you know, sorry, if. If agents of speech is getting more and more popular and people know about this, I am in trouble most of the time. And you're in trouble as well for sharing your son's data. And I know because you're. You're the mom or the dad. I'm sorry, I'm like, out of focus, but let me try again. So, yeah, it's like, it's because I can't do that. So that's why I'm making a quiz later on. You can just answer questions and I'll tell you with like, you know, it's very generic advice I can give you after I hit certain questions that I ask you. Right. So let's see who's watching. So Muna is watching from Kansas. I've never been there. Well, happy Thanksgiving to you, Kelly. Also, hey, good morning. You must be in the US because it's like nighttime for me. Also, happy Thanksgiving, by the way. And someone's watching from uae. That's great. A lot more people from UAE actually nowadays are watching our stuff and joining agents of speech. So I'm pretty grateful for that. All right, guys. So if you guys have any questions about the bundle or about echolalia, please let me know, okay? Because echolia is a huge topic. Like, I get it all the time. Like, because a lot of parents will think, oh, echolalia instantly means that it's autism because it's a red flag. So I. I know I am always repeating myself, but, you know, I'm saying if you cough, it doesn't mean it's Covid, right? If you cough, it might be a lot of things. So it's the same as echolalia. You echo doesn't mean you have asd. It is a red flag. But so what? You know, a lot of things are red flags and you need a diagnosis to not, you know, like, for Covid, the major red flag is the loss of taste, right? Like, you cannot taste anything anymore or smell anything anymore that is very, very specific. But if you're talking about a cough, a fever, I don't know, muscle pain or fatigue, that's flu or a cold or anything, right? And it's the same as the red flags for autism. Most of them are non specific. It could be anything. Sarah. Hey, Sarah from Philippines. Very nice. Lotus. Filipinos who watch Agents of Speech. So I'm very happy. Okay, so I just wanted to update you about what I'm working on. And also the bundle we're doing, a few have jumped on already. Oh yeah. And then also what we do in the bundle is that I'm just going to share the screen. Right? Give me a sec. So once you go in the bundle, right, if you can see it looks like this, you can choose between two. There is, you can choose like whether your child is non verbal or if your child has words but not sentences, then you can choose this one. So for this one you will go to like from zero to words bundle. And as you can see, there's three days only left. So if you guys want to get it at 33% off for all courses that we offer, then go ahead and do it. The very important thing is that we have video review. If I have it here, right? Video review. And what it does is that you, you submit a video of you guys talking. Like just I'll have guidelines about how to do it and you send it to me and I will analyze it and I'll tell you what advice I have for you. Okay, that's number one. This very, very important thing, this one is very valuable. But the thing is you have to go through some of the course material, try out and then show me videos. Then it makes perfect sense, right? So this is what you need to do here. And the same thing goes to like the word combiners one also three days. After three days, we're not going to do this anymore because bundling it is not for everyone. And I believe it's just an easy way to, you know, if you want to learn more about it, just go to that page inside of the title or in the description. This time we're also putting the cell phone, but that's just an easier way to get your stuff, get your login and everything across to you asap because everyone wants to use the holiday to learn. So that's why we're doing it this time. And then as you can see, a bunch of, what's that called? Testimonials here. That is pretty much all I wanted to like talk about today. Someone says, what if you don't want to talk training? Well, I'm sorry, man, I. I cannot unbundle it from the bundle. You know, like, sometimes you buy like a bundle of stuff and there's some stuff that you don't want, then I cannot really help you with that. Right? So it's not like I'm gonna. I'm gonna be able to, you know, like, there's a lot of moving pieces, so I'm not a very technical dude. So if you want me to delete one of it and adjust the price, that's actually practically impossible. The whole page was not built by me. It's by a team member of ours. So sorry about that. So anyways, someone's from Toronto. Nice. I've been there. It's very cold there. I hope you wear more for this Thanksgiving for this winter. All right, so that's all for tonight. If you need more help, let me know. And let me know if you have any questions about the whole bundle thing. I. It's quite. It's difficult that it's hard to go through, like, you know, like, I. What I see is like, parents going through the micro course and then they, oh, yeah, it works. But then life gets in the way and then they don't. They don't get it, so they don't get other courses that will help the child in the long run. So, you know, this is a good chance. Four more days and we're gonna close it down. Okay. And it's gonna be normal price again. So that's it, guys. Let me know and I'll see you guys next week. Monday. That's pretty much it. All right, see ya. Bye.
