These are some of the things that a parent or a professional can look at and see if they need some sort of intervention in their early education. So first of all, let's talk about expressive, about how much they can talk. Do they have a small vocab? Do they have a big vocab? Usually it's a small vocab. If it's risky towards a speech lake. And in particular, we will see that they have a lot less verbs like action words. And the reason behind it is because verbs are more abstract. You can see the object, you can see the action of it, but it's more abstract to know, to label the action itself. Children will actually use some verbs, verbs, but they will use it for everything. For instance, like make, go, get, do. They will use it, these kind of verbs for nearly every situation or get or want. These are the verbs that they keep on using that are overgeneralized because they don't know the specific word for that action. So they will use those, what we call transitive verbs to let the parent or the communication partner know what they want to do. Small vocab, few verbs. And if, even if they have verbs, they might overgeneralize it.
