Want to tell you guys about a talk that we're doing next, actually, this Saturday, coming Saturday on the. Which one is it? Let me see. 21st of August, this month. And this thing we are doing is a public service for Indonesians. We have partnered up with JCI Madan, if you are in Indonesia. This is a talk that we made for Indonesian parents. And basically the talk is about speech delay and why, you know, speech delay is. Is quite a misunderstood term, especially in Southeast Asia. I believe that in Indonesia, at least the time that I've been here, a lot of the times I see that a lot of. A lot of, like, diagnosis on. On the, on the, you know, sheet of paper that I get from other therapists or other hospitals or whatnot, it just says speech delay. But it doesn't tell you enough. And I've. I'm a firm believer, I am a real firm believer of teaching parents what to do at home and teaching parents what to do in general. So, you know, me doing this talk, which is free of charge. There's no charge. It's aimed at Indonesian parents. And just go to the details inside of Instagram stories. Its link is in the bio. Okay. And for people who are watching on other platforms here, then you guys can sign up with the Bitly link. Okay. Just go there and check it out. All right. And the reason why we're doing this is for a few reasons. Number one is because one of my students, she was. She. I actually wanted to do a talk for Indonesians in particular because there was a misunderstanding about what autism is basically. And autism itself is a whole different topic. But I wanted to start with, like, just speech delay because as I said, speech delay is overgeneralized. Just to get. Give you a sense of where the talk is going is that we are going to talk about why speechless is misunderstood, because obviously, if you've been on Agents of Speech or we've been watching content from me, then you will know that speech delay isn't really what it is. You know, most of the time we call it language delay disorder or anything like that. Speech delay is seldom actually used. Actually, only when I moved to Southeast Asia. I've been hearing it a lot more. All right. And I don't know why this is the case. Speech is only one way, One. One way that we communicate. Right. Speech is only one way that we talk, how we communicate, and so on. But I feel like a lot of parents are fixated on speech. I'm very scared of autism, very scared of a lot of things, which is not Your fault. And I believe that whilst I am a very high, what's that called? I'm huge on diagnoses. Right. I love making diagnosis. That's my job, in fact. But the thing is, I really think that if you needed to learn something and do something with your child, the diagnosis doesn't really matter. Okay. So join us on next the coming Saturday. And we will go deep. Not that deep, actually. So this is more for Indonesians. We will have a live translator who will help out, who is also a parent who's been kind enough to help out as a public service and so on. And so we're going to do, that's what we're going to do, a live translation whilst I'm talking. So obviously I'm trying to cover more things, but given that there will be a live translation so that more Indonesians will get the information during this pandemic, especially with where, you know, a lot of places are not open or you're just too scared to go or any other of the, any other reasons. Right. Then this talk would be perfect. All right. We already got around 400 something people signing up, so thanks, guys. And I just wanted to say that the more people, the merrier because this information needs to go to those people who need it the most. And that's why we made it. And obviously there's a lot of content on YouTube, on Facebook, on Instagram, but most of them are not in Indonesia. Right. So a lot of. And why I'm doing this in Indonesia is because the student of mine told me that, you know, there isn't enough awareness for, in general, autism and whatnot. And to just tell you some examples, not to bash, not to say bad things about the professionals here. They are doing their best, I believe. And I'm only supplementing. All right, I'm not here to say, ah, I do it better, whatever. It's not like that. I, I believe that any place requires people to do more of these, like public services. Right. And it's just that in Indonesia, I feel like a lot of parents are saying how they don't understand the, the sheet only says speech delay after like a three minute assessment or something. And there isn't a standardized test in Indonesia either, which is, which is fine. I mean, like, you don't really need a standardized test to have a good understanding of where a kid is in terms of language. But the thing is there's a lot of misconception and a lot of moms are very confused. Right. And they don't know and very fixated on milestones, very fixated on whether the child has ASD or not, which is a global phenomenon, to be honest. I mean, nowadays there's a lot like ASD is a lot more easily detectable. That's why there's a lot more now. That's what I think. And also I feel like more than ever because of the information on the Internet has been so crazy, right? There isn't enough reliable info. I'm not saying that I'm very reliable info, but at least I feel that it's good enough for a lot of parents. So that's it for this live. I just wanted to tell you guys about this talk we're doing coming Saturday. It's at Jakarta time where I am. It's gonna be, wait a minute, I need, I need to take a look at it myself. So it's going to be next, sorry, coming Saturday, 21st of August. And I'm reading it off now. So Jakarta time, 7pm to 9pm so obviously you guys can still join if you don't, you're not from Indo or you don't understand Indonesian, because I'll be speaking, right? I will, I'll be speaking in English and someone, a parent will be helping me to translate and hopefully we can get more people there just to, just so that more people can learn about this stuff. All right, so that's it. And we are, I want to talk about is that we're doing it with JCI Madan. So they're the people who are organizing it and asked me to be a speaker. Very happy for that. So fill in the form. And then after you fill in the form, don't forget to join the WhatsApp group. Okay? Remember to join the WhatsApp group because that's the place where you will, you will get push notifications to say, hey, here is the, here's the zoom link and here's the recording. Okay? So do join and then please go into the WhatsApp group. And that's pretty much it. And whether this is going to be a one off or it's going to be a series, it largely depends on the parents like you who are joining to tell me if you liked it or not. Where to, where do you want more so on and so forth. Right. And yeah, that's all. If you have any questions about the talk, please let me know. I'm going to try my best to answer your questions, but obviously the best thing is just to join and take a look at what we have installed. All right. It's going to be two hours and we will have around half an hour for Q and A. All right? And hopefully when you see it, you will know you won't learn more. Okay. And obviously sometimes is that when parents have these kind of talks, what happens is that there's a lot of theory, there's a lot of whatnot here. We only want to talk about practical tips. I mean, if you've been through our micro course, you don't need to be on this talk because you know me, right? By this time, if you're watching this, if you're watching videos from me, you know that I'm very straight to the point and I, you know, I just want to tell, tell you stuff that this, this should be done like this. Don't do that, don't do this, you know, do this instead. I'm very straightforward. So if you understand and understand this and you want to learn more, then just sign up. All right, so Sulianto says hi from Indonesia. Great. Join Sulianto. And yeah, and then Amisha. Hi, Amisha. So it doesn't matter if you guys aren't from Indo, but hopefully you are because most of the stuff is geared towards Indonesian parents. All right? And we have two Indonesian. My student is going to be the moderator and then one parent is going to be a translator and we're going to rock and roll there. Okay, so let me know if you have any questions. I'll see you next. Sorry, coming Saturday and just hang out with, with me for like two hours at night. So 7pm to 9pm we'll have a chat over there, Ask me anything over there. And stay in the WhatsApp group because if you do want a second talk, we can, we can do that. Sorry, that's my cat. Totally knocked my. My phone. Anyways, that's really it. Okay, see you guys. Bye. Bye.
