Ming (Agents of Speech) introduces the topic of stopping children from hitting parents from a behavioral psychology/ABA standpoint. He frames the problem around understanding the motivation behind hitting, arguing that each behavior has an underlying motive and that identifying that motive is central to addressing the behavior.
