YES Talk 296- Transforming Your Life Through Wise Choices
26 Jun 2023 · 8 min
Speaker (Kevin Ray Ward) frames "crap" as self-inflicted problems—'choices revealed as problems'—and argues most personal issues (fitness, relationships, finances, fun, business, faith) arise from poor, short-term decisions. He links outcomes to the law of sowing and reaping and urges listeners to trust their intuition/gut and adopt longer-term thinking to stop "sowing crap seeds."

All right. What is that crap? How many of you have have some crap in your life right now? Yep, yep, yep. Okay, so how many of you realize most of the crap that we have in our life, most of the crap that we have in our life is self inflicted? You guys realize this? Most of the crap is actually self inflicted. Just like the crap I had in my life yesterday called a hangover that was self inflicted. Here's what, here's the. Almost all the crap in my life. This is what crap is. Crap is choices revealed as problems. Most of the crap in your life is because you made a choice that at some point, typically later shows up in my life as a problem and I crap. Yep. Why do I have crap in my life today? Well, because back then I made a choice at the time, it was what I wanted. It would sound good. It seemed like a good thing to do. But most of the time we knew when we made the choice. Like your gut knew or you knew because you've had the experience before. You've seen the experience. You're like, I know if I drink three vespers and I can't remember, I think I may have actually had a little more than three. I really don't remember. Like, I don't remember. You guys know, I just tell the truth. I just like make stupid decisions. I just fucking own them because I learned from it. I'm like, and I'm not perfect. And I don't want to be perfect. I want to be powerful. So these choices revealed as a problem. How many of this has happened in your fitness domain? How many of you have made choices that have shown up as a problem in your fitness domain? Put your hand in the camera. Yep. Yep. Almost every single one of us. Except for Galena. Galena, have you never made a choice that affected your health, your fitness? Never. I can't. We can't hear you. I just look in to see you shake your head yes or no. But we've done it. How about your relationships? How about in your family and friends? Have you made a choice that has made created a problem in your family and friends domain? Who's done this? Put your hand on the camera. Everybody put your hand on the camera. We've all done it. We made bad choices, chose the wrong friend, or we did something in that relationship that fucked it up. We chose not to do something. We chose not to confront an issue that later on showed up as problem because we didn't deal with it. We avoided a conflict or avoided a conversation or avoided a confrontation. And it Shows up as a problem. What about our finances? How many made a choice financially that later on showed up as a problem? Like, fucking. I knew I shouldn't have done that. Yep. And then most of the time, the reality is our gut already knew. We knew the answer going in. If we just listen to our gut, which we're going to be talking about tomorrow when we get into stacking, is if I learn to listen to my gut, trust my gut, and lead from inside. And lead from this. Listening to the voice inside of us, whether it's God or the universe or just your intuition, when we learn to lead from that, we know what's coming. And. And we're like, okay, if I do this, I'm going to. Yeah, that's going to be crap. Okay, so how about we make a different choice in your business, your focus domain, your faith, your feelings, and everyone. And we've made choices that later on reveal themselves as a problem in our fun domain. We're not having enough fun. Why? Too busy. I don't have time to have fun. Or we go out and have some fun that's toxic and ends up. I got in on Sunday night. My fund domain was, like, rocking on Sunday night. Made a choice in my fund domain that ended up fucking up my Monday focus domain. Right? I didn't do. I didn't do shit in my fire zone. I didn't even start my stack until yesterday afternoon, and then I finished it literally this morning because I was like, choices revealed as problems. So this choice, we make it today, it shows up later. Now, in nature, the natural, the way in nature this happens, is the law of sowing and reaping. You plant a seed and you reap a crop, right? You plant a seed, you reap a crop, you plant a seed, you reap a crop. And in the Bible, or just in wisdom literature in general, is a man reaps what he sows, a person reaps what he or she sows. We sow a seed, we reap a crop, we reap the fruit of it later. Does everybody understand this? That this is true? So when you sow crap seeds, what are you going to get? You're going to get a crop of crap. This is what happens. So when you sow crap seeds, do not be surprised when you reap a crop of crap. And all of a sudden you're like, crap, I got crap in my life. Yes, well, it's because you sowed crap seeds. So how do we stop sowing crap seeds? Well, here's where crap comes from. You Guys ready? Crap comes from us being stupid. Now setting that, another perfect example of this. Here's what stupid is. Stupid is short term thinking. It's what I want right now. It's how I feel right now. Short term thinking, unwisely, unwisely pursuing an immediate desire. What I want right now. Short term thinking, unwisely pursuing immediate desires. So this is what I want. I want to feel good. So I'm going to have a drink. Two, maybe three. And I'm thinking, I'm not thinking about Monday, I'm thinking about right now. Short term thinking, thinking about right now. You ask a 4 year old, would you rather have a candy bar today or a Porsche 91115 years from now? What are they going to take? Take the candy bar. Why? Because a child can only think short term. But as we grow up, we develop maturity which allows us the capacity to to have long term thinking. What's our problem is we still get caught in the short term world, okay? Addiction all comes out of stupid. Bad habits come out of stupid, comes out. We get crap in our lives because we are stupid. So the key to getting rid of the crap in your life is you got to stop stupid. You cannot be a creator stuck here. I mean, you can. You're just going to create shit. You're going to create crap. So you're now your crap creator.
