Date & Time To Strip

Alan Solarsh walks through the Date section of a manual trade stripper, showing how start and end dates control which account history gets examined. He recommends waiting one to two weeks after hedging before stripping, and using server time rather than local time to set when the robot strips, like daily at 21:00 server time.

This video tutorial explains to you the date section of the inputs of the ea. So please click on the inputs now. So please pause the video. Please click on the input section now. Once done, you can come back to this video and resume the video. Now this section over here corresponds with your account history tab over here. So the robot is going to strip according to what is in your history tab. So if you want this robot to strip over a period of days, let's say for a two week period, then what you can do is you can leave the start date and you can just choose on the the future date. So choose today's date and then if you want this robot to only strip for today, then sit, set this for today's date and then it will only strip today. If you wanted to strip every day, then every day it will then strip from your from your account. Let's say you want to strip for the next two weeks, you can choose the seventh and then it'll strip every day at this time. Service time to strip is 2100. So every day at 9 o' clock, then it'll start stripping. This is if this is true. If this is not true, then it'll start stripping when the day starts, which is at one second past midnight. So I would recommend that you set this to true and choose a time that you want this to strip. Now this is not the time that is on your watch where you are in the world. This time over here corresponds to this watch over here. That's why it says here server time to strip. So it's the broker server time that it wants to strip. So it strips over here. This, this section over here. Eventually I'm going to move this to above here. It'll be over here in this section over here. Okay, so if you're watching this and you can't find the time and it's not over here, then just check over here. It will be over here in the section over here. Okay, so just set your time, set your date and time now for whenever you want the robot to strip. So please pause the video. Please go and do that step. Now once done, you can come back to this video and resume the video. Now the start date over here, the stripping functionality is going to look at your entire history if you have not set this up correctly. So over in the start date you should select when you want the manual trade stripper to start checking your history. So if you don't set this up correctly, it'll look at your entire history and then it'll start stripping from past profits. I don't like to strip from past profits. I like to strip from new profits generated that the EA makes after I've been hedged. So I like to wait a week or two, let the robot make some profits, and then I like to strip from there. I never like to strip from past profits. So let's say I'm going to set it for today's date. Then from today's date going forwards, let's say two weeks, then the robot is now going to check from today's date into two weeks into the future. Obviously, the future hasn't come, so every day it'll strip until the future date is reached. So let's say we set it up until 28th February. Then after it strips on 28th February, the stripper will not strip anymore. So it's very important that you understand this and know how the date functionality works so that you don't get caught off guard. Where the manual trade stripper starts stripping profits prior to the date that you got hedged. If you want to use profits to strip away your hedge using past profits that the EA created, that's your prerogative. But that really does defeat the progress and the process of what we're trying to achieve here, which is to create profits going forward. So if you've made profit, leave your profits as is. Only start stripping from new profits that are generated from the day that you get hedged. It's not advice. That's just how I have set up my robot. So now that you understand that, we can go on to the next video. I'll see you on my next video.
