Take Profit Line Not Being Triggered

Short tutorial by Alan Solarsh explaining why a take-profit (TP) may not trigger: the broker spread means the broker's quoted (ask) price must cross the TP, not just the bid. The presenter distinguishes the white line (market/bid price) from the red line (ask price charged by the broker), explains spread variability (liquidity/volatility), and gives step-by-step instructions to enable the ask/price line on desktop (Chart Properties → Common → check Ask line) and on mobile (Settings → Charts → enable Ask Price Line) so users can see when the ask crosses their take-profit.
Alan Solosh here, the passive income guru in this video tutorial explains to you how to add the ask line to your charts.
Right? So I believe that some people are saying that the tp, the price, the, the price is hitting the, the take profit line, but the trade isn't closing. And the reason for that is because of the spread. Now the spread is basically the price. It's the difference between the price and what the broker is quoting, what the price is. So it's basically the broker's fee. There's two prices. As you can see on the right hand side here there's a red line and a white line. Now the white line is the actual price of the currency. The red line is the price that you're being charged. Okay? There's an extra charge, so it's 42.42 and then.7 4.75. The difference between these two prices is the commission that gets paid to the broker. That is called the spread. Okay? Now the price, the red line, okay, has to go through the take profit for the take profit to actually activate. Not, not just the white line. Okay? Now the spread will change. As you can see, the, the, the gap is actually getting bigger. Let's enlarge it. And that's because of volatility and liquidity in the market. So the more people they are trading, the lower the spread, the less people that they are trading. The, the spread then increases, also increases according to volatility. So the brokers have got their formula and it's worked out with the, between the liquidity provider and, and, and the broker what the spread is going to be. We've got no control over that. Right? So this is how you are going to add the ask line to the, to the chart. So what you're going to do is you're going to log into your vpn. So please pause the video. Please.
Go and log into your vpn. Now once done, you can come back to this video and resume the video. Right click on the chart and click on Properties. So please pause the video. Please go and do that step. Now once done, you can come back to this video and resume the video. The next step is to click on Commons and then make sure that the ask line is checked. So please pause the video. Please go and do those two steps. Now once done you can come back to the video and resume the video. Then you can click on ok. And once you click on ok, you'll need to go to a higher time frame to be able to, or you can just zoom out and there you will be able to see the red line. Right? So now on, on an iPhone, and I'm sure an Android is pretty much the same, what you would do is you would click on the gear icon in the bottom right hand corner on an iPhone which will get you to the screen. And then you click on the charts icon. So click on. So please pause the video, please go and click on the settings and then the charts icon. Now once done, you can come back to this video and resume the video. And where it says ask Priceline, make sure that that's ticked. So please go and click that. Now please pause the video, go and do that step. Now once done, you can come back to this video and, and resume the video. And then you can click on the, the back button. So let's just go back there. There we go. So there's the back button. You can just click on the back button and you can get back to your settings. And then if you want to get to the trade section, you can just click on the trade section, right? And then if you click on the charts, you'll notice that now there is the red line and the white line. So if you go to a higher time frame, if you've got like a one minute time frame over there and you'll then see the difference between the ask and the bid line. And now you can see when the red line has gone through the take profit on your phone. That is when the take profit has been.
Cool. So I hope that you found this video helpful. Please make sure before you send me a message that the EA is not working and the take profit line is not being, is not being triggered. You make sure that you understand that and check that your red line is on the chart. Okay? Now just to let you know that it's not possible for the take profit line not to be activated once the trade, Once the robot places a take profit line, the EA is basically just placing the trade onto MT4. Once that trade is placed on MT4, the EA does not control the take profit. It's MT4 that controls the take profit. The EA basically just places the trades. Okay? And then that's basically all it does. So places the trade on the chart and then MT4 then takes care of the rest. Okay? So I hope that you found this interesting. If you did, please hit the, the like button and the subscribe button and you can leave a comment in the comment section of the video and I'll see you on the next video.
