Chart Talk Ep #1 | PLTR Er, DTSS, Classic Undercut and Rally, Tariffs

Episode 1 of 'Chart Talk' is an informal live trading discussion focused on technical analysis, setups, and position management. Hosts debate market structure (snapbacks, double-tops, undercuts), headline/tariff risk, and review specific tickers (Palantir, CoreWeave, HIMS, Nvidia, quantum/robotics names). The episode also covers a small-account edge (SAE) approach and a compounding spreadsheet used to track performance.

Talk episode 1. So, as you know, I've been traveling a lot, trading as well as I guess I could have been, given the circumstances, because awfully poor. I blame it all on my mom. You know, usually, like, Vaughn and I, we were doing this thing where, you know, I worked for 30 days straight.
And then we'd go travel for 10.
Days, and then I'd come back 30 days travel, 10 days. And we actually did it pretty well. I think that the first, like we did, we did Iceland, then we did Scotland, Ireland. We did. Remember, probably Florida a couple times. I feel like. What else did we go? I think we did Hawaii, we did Kauai. Oh, we did Belize. And like, literally it was like, on schedules. Every 30 days. We'd be out for 10 days. But then it just turned into like, 90 days straight at work. And, like, we didn't plan anything and shit. Got super busy and we're like, all right, we gotta get out of here. Haven't seen moms for a minute. We went down there and beautiful in Florida right now. We went down and saw Ariel's words of wisdom Rhysdom interview. Stayed with them, which was cool. Oh, my God. Funny. Funny as fuck. I just was looking through my Twitter DMs and they invited me to do it, like, three months ago. And I didn't even see. I didn't even see the invite. I thought it was just, like, some spammy odd. And I, like, this morning, I just responded. I'm like, I'm so sorry I missed it. Money. I was down in Miami. Anyways, yeah, maybe. Maybe that'll happen soon. I doubt it. Yeah, it's either they're gonna pay me to do it or I'm gonna have something to promote. It's one or the other. Like, I'm not going on there if I don't have something to promote or they're not bank. I don't have the time for it. So I would like to. To sync that with either we promote some sort of charitable donation, or maybe I'm dropping some sort of course or something that we can sell for charity, something like that. You know, ultimately, if I do end up deciding to, like, put together an actual formal course, you know, I'm gonna leverage, you know, my team that I have within the businesses that I run, you know, my design marketing team and the other guys and girls there, and we're actually gonna put together something awesome. I want to sell it, obviously, you know, make them money, you know, get some money in our pockets, but then the rest will go to charity. Always has to be a charitable component to anything that I do. Just part of my ethos. But, yeah, anyways. All right, cool. We got some more people piling in here. What up, Sherrod? How you doing, brother? I know you were just down in Florida. I hope the wedding's good. Oh, all right. We got somebody invite us. Sherrod. Hello, good sir. Can you hear me? Loud and clear. How you feeling? Pretty good.
Pretty good.
Yeah.
We were down in Miami randomly at the same time as you guys. I had no idea. I know, I know. Bummer. I mean, obviously you're probably super busy. So are we. But, you know, you could always get. Could have got some breakfast or something. But anyways, water under the bridge. Yeah, no, definitely. Yeah. Back in Utah, and then we headed to London and Italy next week. Wow. Yeah, a lot of travel right now. Nice. What was your trip? It was okay. I mean, it was great. It was great. You know, I love Sarasota. It's like home away from home. My grandparents loved it. They used to take my. My mom and my uncles down there when they were kids. It's just like. It's a home away from home. Love it. We're looking at spots, you know, we kind of want to move out of downtown and get a house. And, like, there's some, like, really great neighborhoods, you know, right down there. It's a really great place. But. But weather was perfect. Miami was a blast. Got to meet Connor and Teddy for the first time, and they're exactly how you think they are. They're great. Ambitious, super fucking smart young kids. Ariel. I know his shoot was a success. Ate a bunch of good food. I realized how poor I am after being in Miami. My God, relatively speaking. But all in all, it was awesome. I trust yours was. Was great as well. So let's hop into some. Some chart talk here. Sharath, what are you thinking right now about the market? What charts are you looking at?
What.
What interests you?
Yeah.
I'm driving right now, so I might. Might cut out, but I kind of feel like the. The overall market, like, everything looked like charts normally do before they set up. Then they set up and they broke out. I'm pretty neutral here, though. Like, I feel like things are getting extended, obviously. All the same things everyone knows, like, markets up nine days in a row.
This.
This much off the lows. I don't know. Like, I'm.
I'm really just trying to play it.
Nimble, I would say. I feel like I had a really good start to the year, and I feel like this Last two weeks, I really left a lot on the table given the run we had, is kind of how I'm feeling. But it feels like like the AI trade is back. It feels like a lot of the US tech, obviously defense and all that's back. I'm kind of curious, like, do we see things just continue and rocket higher or do we like see some double top short sales or things like that? I mean, I can give you my thoughts on that. And you know, I agree with the overall sentiment. And I would definitely not beat yourself up over missing, missing the setups, you know, like out of. Out of pretty much everything that, you know, people that you listen to and you look up to preach. It's kind of like big move up, pullback, sideways expansion, you know, or it's like big banks or it's like, you know, it's basically one of those two things. And essentially we had this kind of parabolic blow up top of a lot of these names using, you know, fury as an example. And then, you know, they retrace 50% and they don't really like set up in the like the normal context that we would, we would consider being like a longable setup. Now I have changed my sentiment on that stance. I knew that there was going to be a rubber band bounce. It was kind of a delayed rubber band bounce. Maybe a month and a half ago I was posting all of those left side peak undercuts. And I was hoping that we get more of like an immediate rubber band bounce that would be kind of like this sharp V. But instead we kind of got this kind of like grindy weak bounce. And then we faded lower and we created this double bottom. And I'm calling the SR71. I know people have coined it beforehand, but I'm just bitter because he caught a couple of names that I should have. So I'm calling it the SR71. Or that would be the kind of like nickname. The real name would be this classic undercut morale where we see this kind of this sharp bottom put in. We get a bounce and then we get another sharp drawdown, creating this W bottom. The second bottom undercuts the first and then we kind of spring back to life, you know, waterfall, tennis ball, underwater beach ball, underwater sort of action. Problem still though is no base. No like actual meaningful base. And I know it is a big move up and that's where I missed out where it's not the traditional big move up out of a base, pull back, create a little flag and go. It was more so a. Hey, we're falling off the face of the earth. We catch bottom, we make a really big move up and then we're kind.
Of back, we flag and then we go like in Palantir. I'm gonna pull Palantir. So we have ran from these kind of flags into a bunch of left side peaks. And you know, whenever I see these, this is like mean reversion to mean reversion. Right. So it's like me. Yeah, it's mean reversion. Yeah, exactly. It's a rubber band down, then a rubber band up. And I think that we're going to have a snapback. We are nine days up. Q's are running into the 200. The moving averages are still completely on the cues. Let me pull up the cues. The Hundreds over the 200. Price is still, still under the 200. This is great, meaningful spring back, you know, from a, from a catastrophic. Some of the sharpest selling, you know, in recorded history. A rubber band bounce is expected. But then your rubber band gets a rubber band. You know, it's like the volatility. The first leg down is the most volatile. And then you have like a 75 leg back up which is also extremely volatile. And then the next day down, right. You're, you're, you're, you're compressing, you're consolidating the, the volatility. Right. So I expect another kind of snap down, maybe a breach of the 200 here run into the hundred. I know some really big players that are also thinking this, that are positioning themselves short just because like they're, I don't know how you take along here. And so I know that's a very kind of long winded way of getting around to like what you're thinking. But I couldn't, it'd be difficult for me to take along here and expect it to move away from my average meaningfully and stay up. I think that we do need a pullback, a little bit of a consolidation, actually. Probably a lot of consolidation before we get a meaningfully meaningful leg higher. But then again though, all, all of this started with a headline. So it can, I think, be cleared up with a headline. Right. So if it all started with the headline, that is, hey, we're going to have a lot of, we're going to have tariffs, global tariffs that could change the course of global economics for the meaningful future. And we don't know what that looks like yet. Okay. That's like the worst possible thing that you could take to that you could tell serious market investors or participants you're essentially saying we don't know what the going to happen, but things are going to become more expensive. That's what you're saying. And we don't know how long it's going to take and we don't know any sort of resolution. Okay. If all of a sudden that is now reversed, then we should expect that we should go back to highs and then some. It's like, interesting because if this never would have happened in the first place and earnings came out the way that they've been, we should reasonably expect us to be higher by now. So. And that's the scary part of it all. If you're short in any of these position. If you're short, like say we're running into the 200, the 100 and we're short, but then some positive headline comes out where we struck a deal with China. You're, you're getting reamed. Right. Like that's just what's going to happen. And we don't know if it's going to happen or not. Right. The very, the opposite could happen where the two get in the room and shit escalates. It even gets worse. I don't know. I don't really see that happening. But it could. And then all the longs get toast. But I do know that we've had some serious price movement, some serious volatility in a, in a, in a really short term. And I just, I think that it. For us to go meaningfully higher in the short term like for Alantir or Crowdstrike or Roblox or any of the other ones, Spot even, which are all strong companies right now, definitely. But they're all setting up for double tops and I've seen a bunch of, I've seen several other double tops set up and play out already and it just makes sense just to, due to the snap down, snap, snap back up nature of the charts. I just don't see them meaningfully going higher when we still have that headline risk and no real resolution. How are investors investing up here? That's, that's like my, my kind of thought.
It's also like, how are investors not.
Taking any exposure off if they haven't, if they have, if they got caught on the whole thing. I think, I'm thinking the same thing. It's like, are you going to press longs up here? I think it's one thing to run.
Run things that are working. I trimmed a bunch of stuff on Friday.
I added one new long half position and then I added a couple Shorts and I feel like the most bullish thing would be like a five day choppy pullback. Let some of the moving averages catch.
Up and then continue higher.
I feel like the worst thing would be like a gap up on Monday. I'm like can almost guarantee that gets sold and then that ends up being nasty. I don't know. Exactly. Exactly. Well, no, no, no. Yeah, no, exactly. It the charts like the bet. But we still have all these earnings in the web, right? Like most mag seven's out the way. We have Nvidia as the anchor at the end of the season per usual. I think the way that you handled your portfolio is perfect. I think that if you're long, paler from where Ashton's long palantir or SR71s long hood like you're perfect. Hold them trail moving averages obviously do your thing. Me, I'm not, I'm not. I'm long four names in my main account and I'm flat in the, in the small account. You know, I'm sitting in Meta Microsoft, hims obviously. HIMS is my considerable position and you guys know the thesis I have there. I want to hold it long term. That was 1, 2, 3 and then core weave, which you know, I really don't even know what the they do. I just like the chart, right. And I know they're involved in the cyber space, but yeah, like I, I like, I like Amazon, I like its little flag that it's putting together. I like Tesla. But like I'm looking at the cues unfortunately. And those are the, those are the only two longs on my watch that have a tight range, tight inside days, clearly definable where I could buy over a level. Except they're the only two longs. That's, that's the big thing for me. And I look at all the other charts that, that are running right now and I'm like they are way too far up and too short of a time. They're acting as if Trump has already like the headline risk is over. And look, you know, somebody always knows and really smart people, really smart funds, they can look forward and they can game theory it out and they know what the probable outcome is going to be and we kind of all do in our gut that there will probably be some market pleasing resolution to all of this and then the names that are already running are going to run higher. But until we have that like in my mind for Palantir to go up meaningfully higher, it has to coincide with some sort of that announcement Monday. And if it gaps up higher Monday on earnings. And those earnings are, you know, whatever. I'm sure they'll be better than they were last quarter and I'm sure they'll beat estimates. But even if they do the things up a hundred percent in a couple of weeks after being down 50% percent in a couple of weeks, just from a pure technical analysis perspective, this is an ideal double top short sale. Now I don't want to go to Ashton and be like, oh my God, it's a double top short sale. Sell your position. No, Ashton, obviously trail it. Don't even pay attention to what I'm saying. And if I was long I would be the same way. I'm not going to flip. I wouldn't flip. I would hold it and try to trail actually a longer moving average like the 100 or 50 or something, even though the 50 is just going flat. But I'm not. So I'm looking to short it. I'm looking like literally you see my screen? I have one line here. This is one of the triggers on my focus list. If it breaches and then fails with velocity, I'm going to enter, I'm going to take it. And it may be a one day trade, it may be a two day trade, it'll probably bounce off the 10. But like if it breaks reached 30 or 130 and then comes down, that's like, that's a 20 trade probably in like a day or so. And who knows, it may go longer, it may come down to this gap level which would be, which would make a lot more sense to me if it kind of breached and failed and came down to about here be about 20%. That might even be too far down. But then we look at the weekly and then we start seeing like a real like, like base being built or who knows? I really don't know. I really don't know. I hope these things just don't run. For Ashton's sake. I hope it runs to 200. But you know, for everybody who's like kind of missed, I guess the plays, I hope that, I hope that it doesn't, I hope that it consolidate. Honestly, like the perfect scenario. It's weird. It's so weird because it's perfect. Pressing the left side peak. And I've been thinking about this chart non stop for the past like week. It's pressing the left side peak going into earnings. So if it breaches and fails and then consolidates, the chart is just going to look fugly. It's going to need even more time to set up. But like, I can't imagine a world where it, where, where they announce earnings and it, and it just has a muted reaction, right? Like, like it's either going to go for berserk or it's going to the bed. Like, there's not going to be a me, a muted reaction here. But we like, trot, like what you were saying. We kind of want that muted reaction. We kind of want it to like, like the best like scenario would be like this little flaggy thing that sets up, lets the moving average set up and then we go boom. Right? I just don't see that happening with earnings in the. That, that's, that's, that's the thing. And I just don't really have many great setups. Like, like, I love Tesla. I love, I like. What's the other one? Amazon. But it's still just in this donker ass range. Like, it's just like, they're just like these huge ranges. Like, do you. Who loves this? Like, raise your hand if you love this. If you love this. Mom doesn't love you. Like, I, I swear, like, like you can't love this. Like you have a fish hook of a 20 weekly SMA, it's still a fish hook down. Like, you don't, you don't love that. It doesn't love you. Right? You know, if you look at like Amazon, Amazon's a little cleaner, but still, like, it's below, it's below the 10 weekly still, which is equivalent to the 50 daily. I don't know, like crowd. Like this just. This just looks, this is just like perfect double top. It's just perfect. Or it's like, you know, it just needs a lot more range building. I just don't see these names and I feel like Ariel. It's like we flipped the script. Ariel's permeable now and I'm just like bearish. But like, I just. What? What? It's just gonna rip to 600? It's just gonna rip to 550. Maybe. I mean, maybe it will. I don't know if it does. It'll give us a great continuation play. But like, what I see, I see this, I see ascension and then I see in the MACD decline. And that's called, that's called a Bear Divergence. This was the same, same issue that I saw with Spy 2022 that I posted on Twitter that, well, you guys seen about. If you look at the 2022 MACD, it's slowly, you can see the momentum slowly coming out of the move and Then eventually you kind of get this crack with this sort of double top week, right? And then you get the same thing here. Like MACD is trending down, price trending up. You kind of. It's slowly. This is, this is normal for all moves. It's slowly. It has the most momentum in the, the beginning and then momentum starts slowing as we get to the peak. It's. How do you time it? We usually time it with a double top, right. Or a double bottom. Like what we saw, I guess right here. This would be a double bottom. And then actually you had a. Probably a strong. Yep, there it is. You had a strong bull divergence here and then you had your double bottom. So once it breached this peak or this same thing, the double bottom left leg, you got your moving up and it was, you know, not looking back. But I don't, I don't know. It's. It's difficult for me here to get long without now flags because most of the moves like good. I guess I can't call it a move. Let's look at what else is moved. Okay, so we have Palantir, we have. Let's look at Netflix. Netflix is clearly the leader, which it barely budged. It still gave you that double bottom. I mean, every one of these charts, this double bottom here, this is leg one, leg down, one leg down, two undercuts still above the 200 blast off ones. Dual was insane. Spot, spot, same thing, right leg, one undercut, rocket back. Actually it triggered double top. I'm bullish long term on spot, but it just has such a fat bear divergence. Like the momentum is not matching the price up. Which again, it's, it's, it's just difficult. The best thing for me in my mind what to do right now is literally do nothing. It's hard, hard, but there's no setups and there's no setups that have at least in the past made me a lot of money that I see right now. If we got flags up here, big move up, pull back, go sideways, surf, then yeah, they would look great. But like earnings have to get out of the way and earnings are these huge volatility events that charts like earnings are chart, right. Like they can it great, they could it bad, but nonetheless they're chart. Unless you're mstr where earnings literally don't matter. Like it's not even an earnings event. It's a formality event. But like when I look at Palantir again and obviously it's my focus, I see clearly crystal clear double top. I See huge weakness in the indexes overall. It's. I've never traded in a period like this. This where it's recession on, recession off, recession on, recession off. And the biggest, it's. It's because of this batshit crazy headline risk. And the more. If Trump says the worst thing possible and we don't go lower, and then he says another thing, oh, my God, it's even worse, and we like, kind of stay the same. It's like, what. What could possibly happen that's worse to take the market lower? If anything, from this point forward, it has to be positive because it's better than the worst possible thing. And this is where, like black swans kind of come from, because I think smart people follow that logic. And then truly the unimaginable happens. And that's kind of the definition of blacksmith, or just completely out of left field. And it just, you know, disrupts the equilibrium of the world and the universe, for that matter. But, like, keeping it super simple, there's no charts that match my prerogative. And I see charts going up, and they're going up a, a lot. And it's frustrating, but none of them match my prerogative. So what do I do? I gotta look at setups that are in my playbook. And currently the only setup that in my playbook are the double top short sale. And the double top short sale is. It's not elusive. We see it often because technically, anytime a chart is breaking out, it is a double top, right? Like, if you are. If you're kind of breaking out and there's some sort of definable horizontal range, there is a top that you could run into and fail. But what really makes a strong double top is that punch bowl is that rubber band up, rubber band down action. And I don't know if anybody here is subscribed to any of, you know, Gil Morales. I mean, mean, that dude. Love that dude. You know, he's taught me a lot. He's taught me a little. He obviously is perma bear. And I'm sure he is licking his chops as, as. As this time period is, is definitely, you know, one of the unique ones where he can profit from. And he made a bunch of money in 2022. Actually. That's a great place to look. Let's look at 2022 chart. 2022 spy. I can tell you Ariel made a bunch of money on double tops here too. I don't even know where I am. Oh, my God. It's that far away. Here we go. Okay, so let's just pretend that this is 20, 23. So we just had this like snap down and then snap back up. So it's like 50% of the down move. We rubber banded back up. We ran into these overhead moving averages of which were not the 200, which is kind of interesting. I mean we like, we went so much sideways in the current run that the 200 caught up and we just. The bed below it. I mean the hundred is still above the 200. You know where we're at too, which is interesting. So you had this like big snap down, big snap up. And then right here is where you had like your first nice round of double tops. But the best moves, the best trades that, that Ariel had and I had actually were in this last leg. This is when MSTR double topped. This is when IONQ double topped. This is when Ariel got short vrm. But it basically gave three waves of double tops and other short setups like consolidation, classic breakdown short setups like quality Maggie would take or I describe as like lose the 20, make the money or whatever. Those are like kind of inverse bear or bull flag breakout sort of setups. I, I kind of feel like we're, we're potentially right, right in this section. Let me see if I can draw a circle draw. We're like right here. And for us to push higher and make new highs in the queues, I think all of the tariff uncertainty has to be resolved. And for Palantir to like push higher and really, really, really run meaningfully, I think that like all that stuff has to happen. Or there could be this outlier group that's unaffected by the tariffs. And Palantir could be one of those. Maybe if we look at all the stocks that are actually running right now, are they unaffected by tariffs? And is that what's really causing the juice, which is really possible too. But again, I'm just going to keep going back to the fact that I don't have any meaningful setups that are within my playbook. So what do I do? The only ones I have are the Double Tops, Roblox, Valentir, Proud Bot, all of which are obviously the strongest right now. But like this right here is classic double Tops. Roblox, by the way, this company. But that's classic double top. Will it just blast through and go to infinity and beyond?
Maybe.
Who the knows? That's the beauty of taking trades based on triggers. If it doesn't trigger, you do not take the trade. So like for example, gh, it triggered a double top. Not nearly as dramatic of the the punch bowl as, as some of the others. But it triggered a double top and it could potentially fail this base while Duel did not. It just blasted through and didn't trigger. PLTR could very well do this or it could go the other way. And that's the great thing about trigger based trading is you don't take the trade if it doesn't trigger. It's so simple. Like I'm not trying to take like I'm not going to short this right now. There's no point. I would have shorted it if it breached and failed. 442.43 but it just ripped. Now the issue though is if you have that double top mindset and then you just miss the long. Well, you're conflating two opposite trading approaches, right? And you don't have to catch them all. You definitely don't have to catch. And perhaps my thinking right now is more detrimental than good. But looking at 2022 which by the way is not defined in my system anywhere, nowhere in my system does it say to look retroactively at previous periods and make trading decisions in the now based on what we saw in the past. That is no, nowhere to find, right? So I shouldn't even be doing it whatsoever because it's imposing bias on me that is self inflicted and ultimately just confusing things, right? But I've already done it. I've already done it. I can't unsee it, right? Like oh my God, dude, I went to this beach. My mom took me to this nude beach. So weird. So weird. We went to it. It was hilarious. But like her, one of her friends wanted to take, take us and she's like 75 years old and this woman who should not be wearing a bikini and like you can't even look at like you just can't look at her. But she struts like I can't unsee it. Okay? It's just like only time will allow me to unsee. But I've seen 2022. I've drawn the parallels between 2022 and now. And I know that we are in the perfect spot for double tops to trigger meaningfully. I know we are. But is that the system? And it sucks. It's like something that I have to think through and level with. Like if there are no meaningful, like if there are no long setups that meet my criteria but there are potential, potential double top short sales with the macro environment for them to trigger and meaningful fall through, do I just ignore those knowing that they exist or do I act upon them. And if I act upon them, is my bear, is my bias down? How far down are these stocks going to go? They are the leaders. And then what happens if Trump just best buds with Xi, they both invade Taiwan together and live happily ever after. And the world's great, we now have US China merger. Right. Okay, then what? Right now I just missed everything else because I'm sitting there short. I don't look at any of these potential double tops as meaningful double tops. Shit. The bed retrace. 50% market's going way lower. And it's the whole thought process of it's, it's so difficult because as you begin to start thinking that way now, all of a sudden you're becoming an economist and a fortune teller. I can only be one, and I prefer to be an accurate fortune teller than an economist for sure. And I think that the way that I do that is just by looking at, at the length and quality of my watch list and, and looking at, at long setups that meet my criteria of which we do not have any right now. So the simplest approach and what burns the most is because you see, you know, these guys crushing these longs right now. And if you miss them, the simplest approach is, quite frankly, you do nothing. It kills, it hurts, it burns, but you do nothing. And if you're already long, you also do nothing. You just follow your, your moving average. So me, I will take a double top Trigger. I do not have a solid plan for how long low it's gonna go. I need to think if it does trigger, I need to think through that. But in my gut, it doesn't say that PLTR is going to retrace the entire higher mood, the bed, and go lower than where it was, you know, two months ago. Like, why would that happen? And there you go, you see me following, you know, back down the path of trying to be an economist.
Right.
I think right now any short setup is just a, a short term scout, a swing scout, and it's something to do that's going to essentially be that kind of thing. Third snap back. So we snap down. That was the biggest move. We snap back up. Big move. The third move down will be a snap down, which is what, which was what bulls want and we need for setups. But it's going to be half of the second leg. So if you think of leg one as 100%, leg two, the retracement will be half of that and half of that, then half of that and half of that. That's essentially the VCP.
Right.
So Palantir is just up 100. So if it's going to snap back, it may give me 10, 20% at most on, you know, a relatively large position size, which could move my account in the short term. And if it just rips higher and there's no setups, there's nothing you can do about it anyways. Like, you can't just beat yourself up over. If the market just wants to move advance from a setupless place. That just increases my conviction in shorts. You need consolidation. You can't. Like, even if even. I don't even know, like, I don't know what would have to be said or done to just skyrocketed us back to highs plus interest. We're still in a tumultuous sea of, you know, uncertainty, you know, people longing. China right now. It just terrifies me. I just don't. I don't know how you could do it. Not to say that the risk isn't always there. It is always there. That, like, something could happen between China or, like, you know, adrs could get delisted, which is just hogwash. I seriously don't think that's going to happen. But, like, it can. It actually can happen. It's Occam's razor. Well, not Occam's razor. What's the other one? Moore's Law. It can happen. And, like, you know, this is why position sizing is so important. Like, if I were to take Baba, there's no way I could take in my account, there's no way I could take more than 10, right? There's no way. I don't care how good the seller setup is. And I don't think it's great at all right now. I think. I think the chart looks like. Let's look at that.
Bubba.
Now, there's this nice little flag right here. But what are you gonna do? Buy this Gap up and be stuck in this little doji under the 50? Like, no, thanks. Like, I'm good. I'm good. But the chart looks decent overall. Like, it looks good. Like, I bought this candle. I bought this candle and actually I think I bought this one, one of these. And look at ads, right? I just.
I don't know.
It's. I think this is the perfect time to be so simple and just look for setups. And there aren't any. Eos is a setup. It says, let me take that. It looks great. Like, this is. It looks great. Big move up. Long, orderly pullback. Another big move up. Getting tight. Higher. Low. Surfing above the 10, all that like it looks great. It has pretty, you know, kind of choppy chart history. Like there's no like big super clean linear moves kind of. Because it's been in this base for like ever. Still in this base and it's up four weeks in a row, but still it looks pretty decent. It just says earnings though. Like there's nothing you can do, right? Like you can't do anything. You just gotta wait for earnings. Like dash. This looks great. It looks amazing. Right? There's nothing I can do though. It has earnings ahead and I don't know enough about the company to, to like kind of kind of front run those earnings. You know, if I may have bought it like way down here on its initial like actual game changing EP where it has never really looked back. Obviously I'm holding earnings, but I can't buy just a couple of days ahead of earnings. There's other stuff. MSTR looks great again. It's running into that 400 level. Can't really buy it here. It doesn't have any like, like power to the move. It has momentum sort of, but it's like powerless momentum. Not really on elevated volume, it's just kind of floating higher, you know. It didn't lynch on earnings. The negative 16, 16.50 EPS is hilarious though. Like it's so funny to me. Like negative 16.53. That's absurd. It just goes to show that earnings mean absolutely nothing for this company, at least right now. But like this one would be a perfect one to like kind of just chop around and you know, build out a flag that we can buy. I think that if it just expanded through the level right here and just kind of broke out, I just like couldn't buy it. I don't, I don't know, I just, I just couldn't do it because last time I bought it and I actually had, you know, my career largest trade. Let me get a bigger time frame on here so you can see broke the 200 level. Like look at this big beautiful range. Like insane range. Okay, like beautiful clear level. Clear as day. I bought it here on this day, October 17th where it undercut and reclaimed. It just doesn't have that now. It just has like this big sloppy wide formation. Like I don't know what, what do you do with. What do you do with that? Like if we look at Palantir original initially volunteer has been a sloppy mess forever. Actually my first seven figure trade was on Palantir. This was the initial EPM Palantir. All the Way down here, This one is, was my first seven figure trade but it built this giant range before advancing higher. Man. It's just been a sloppy piece of like look at this, look at this er, candle like hello, it just shits the bed. Or look at this er, candle shits the bed the other way. Like it's just like its earnings like never work out very well. Like it never really reports and it works out like great. Like this was a good one actually I take that back. This was a good one. I guess the last earnings was all right and then it ran into to Trump's rhetoric. But like I just don't know what we do from here. Let's look at other charts. Hood I really, really like, it's probably going to give me a delay. This is what I'm gonna own long term. Like hims, Hims I really don't want to sell until it's a couple hundred bucks. Hood is another one if you still cheap enough too. I mean it's less than $50 and they have so much, so much promise. There's just so many ways for them to make money, man. If they just like they just had a better like trading. That's the problem. They're moving into trading and that was one of the issues on their conference call is like they highlighted all of the traders that are coming and like I'm like you get all these novice people and you're offering them the ability to like trade easier. You're just going to blow up and you're going to lose your customer base. Which is kind of, kind of a problem with me and hims but. Or I'm sorry, a hood. Let's see, does anybody else have any charts they want to look at? All right, I see rr. That's a good art. Looks good. I got a line and I got an alert. Yep, it looks good. It looks good for, for a breakout. The moving averages are so tight. It feels like soun kind of which was the best trading stock in the past two years. Unbelievable. The moves that SOU made. It feels like SOU here. That's kind of what it feels like. So we might get like this nice couple of day move. But still though, I don't know. Let's just go through a scanner when we do that final scan. Here's the scan that I use. Let's see what it's producing. Pony the Pony, big move up. Pullback needs to get tight. Got earnings which I don't think matter Wolf is one that many of you know I've done A lot of DB on and I like a lot. But I have my own trigger set for. For Wolf. They have to. They have to report momentum and sales before I buy them. But it's made a big move off the bottom. Dual. Dual top. A top ep like momentum. Watch for me. Hope it kind of gaps down.
Like.
Gaps down and then can breach.
Oops.
Can go back through that. That left side peak or I'm sorry, can go back through the. The high volume level. Yeah, odd did that where odd kind of came down below it below the earnings candle.
I.
Or close and then breached it. And that would have been kind of your buy spot. You would have been red a little bit on day three. You can also just wait for a flag to set up. But this is definitely ep. EP potential. AUR is a nice big base, but just choppy, sloppy, no history of making good moves. Core weave I like a lot. I'm obviously already long it, but it has huge, huge volume, huge volatility, big range, super liquid hot beam. Who knows where this goes? It could do what Reddit did in the beginning. It reminds me a lot of Reddit initially where it kind of blew off the top, went 100% and then came down consolidated, and then it went, you know, a couple hundred percent from there. Maybe 100 from there. Yeah, 100 from there for kind of retracing and building a larger range. But that's where I see where we, you know, I see it easily testing this. This peak or even higher. I expect like 100 move out of it. That's what I'm looking for. Rughetto. Really nice. These Quantum names are holding up so well. Well, I mean, this is kind of what it's like RR in a way, right? Like rr. Rgti. RGTI has held up much better. It hasn't even. It hasn't even gotten close to the 200, which is awesome, you know, for these companies not making any money for being some like, you know, future fantasy sort of tech. But I mean, dude, it's the thing, man. Like, I just don't think that humans are able to quantify within their. In our little brains, you know, the exponentialism, which isn't even a word, but the exponentiality of. Of AI and its advancements and how it can help us solve problems. So, like, yeah, I know Jensen said that we're, you know, 30 years from meaningful AI, but then we just had you listen to the Google conference call, you know, and them talk about quantum. And if you listen to Microsoft talk about quantum, it's like. Did I just lose connection? Can you hear me? Oh, Herb. What up, dog? What's up, Herv?
Yo.
Yo. How you doing?
Good. I kind of wanted to ask you a question about core weeds and kind of getting a little bit of, I want to say burnout. But like, so I entered in on.
That.
Bike three days ago. I can't. I don't have that. Yeah, one more left.
Okay. That 29th.
So yeah, entered in that, you know, breakout kind of anticipating, you know, the move that we're eventually getting. So I got stopped out there, entered in two days ago, stopped out of that as well. And then it's like by the time it actually goes, you know, it's just like I'm already a little bit exhausted. So I just kind of want to hear your thoughts on like, I mean, I know it's still. Setup is still there and you probably should still take it, but you know, sometimes after you've been bleeding so much, it feels like you should pass on that.
So. So the setup is not there anymore for you. In my mind, you may have. Geez, I don't even know. Like, I don't know where a level, a respectable level would be to buy now. I bought it here. I bought it off of 5 day SMA on 424, which is not like typical of what you guys are used to. You know, the only way that you could possibly still be in this is if you bought. I don't even know. It probably still stopped you out. We'd have to look at the intraday price action.
I mean, to me, the, like I. The setup is still there for me buying on this most previous, you know, this most recent day on Friday just.
I see.
Basically because like, you know, you can tell that it's trying to break out of that base on the daily. Right. And then you've got like, you know, kind of a pretty bearish engulfing. Well, it's not bearish engulfing, but pretty bearish candle on Thursday. And then here we are, you know, Friday breaking over that, you know, it's kind of like a mini short drop candle, right?
I hear you. I hear it's just not clean. It's just not a clean setup. So like for me to buy it like within the last couple of days. All right, so say you bought it on Friday, right? Like I had a lining here, 4650, but you're still very far in front of previous high day. So like, if you really, really wanted it, you would have bought it on the retest of the previous high day or you would have bought the breach through previous high. A day with smaller size and used, I don't know, somewhere down there as your stop, you know, below 46.50. It's, it's a tricky one because it just hasn't moved cleanly, that's all. And so, you know, for me, you know, just answer your question, then, like, trader fatigue. You just have to learn to like, let go. Just let it go. Who cares, but just let it go. Like, don't. Like, you're not gonna miss any. Like, okay, you may miss this move in this particular instance of this stock. Oh, great. But the problem is if you chase it with FOMO and fatigue, you're, you're, you're gonna, you're gonna just chop yourself up potentially. You, you increase the likelihood of chopping yourself up and making bad decision decisions when it's just like. And as you can see, I've just been thinking out loud with you guys on this call. Just thinking about, like, my dilemma with Palantir and my dilemma with taking longs, right? Like, like, yes, they may go. Yes, Palantir may trigger a short sale. Yes, Tesla may break out. But it's like none of them are coming from places that have earned me the most money trading like, like formations not even close. Like, there are none. And so, like, if core weave is going to truly go meaningfully higher, it's going to give us like, you know, sure, you can sort of set up. It's going to give us a flag. It's going to give us a five day sma. Like, it's just starting to show momentum now. Like, it's showing momentum now. Great. Ahead of earnings, mind you. So it's like, like I don't have meaningful size in it at all. I have tiny size and cor weave. I'm glad it's going up. You know, I could have bought more, but, like, you know, and I probably would have and I guess what, and I probably would have got chopped out just like you did. And it's like, if we just like herb, you know, what trades have moved your needle. They're just apparent in your mind. They're your hall of fame trades. They happen annually a handful of times times. What we need to do is we need to focus on those. My kind of biggest blunder is not, not looking at the double bottoms across, you know, across the opportunity set, like in coreweave and Palantir and a few of the others, and not taking that flag off the big move up. So I did it and it's really funny too. I did it here, like on Geb, for example. So GEV kind of had like this, the bed candle. And then it had a big move up like 9 11. Hold on, where's 9 11? There's the whole 911 trade sequence that happened last year. Yep, that's. That's 8, 5, 9 11.
Cool.
Yeah, right here. So kind of like that tennis ball underwater action where then it bounced back up and then it ran another one was actually dual on the 911. Yep, right here. So sell off. And it kind of has this bottom pin reversal comes back up. But the problem was not recognizing this as that big move up. That was a 50 move. Yes. It's back within the base of where it was just a couple of weeks prior. It didn't really advance higher, but it still is a big move up. It had a big move up, it pulled back, it got linear. It started surfing the 10 and the 5 and it expands right. And then the thing just runs for months. My biggest issue was not recognizing that in Palantir, you know, so Palantir, this was the big move up. 50 in nine days. Pull black, real tight little flag. And I think this is where Ashton probably bought it. Boom. 33 in another, you know, 10 days. That was my biggest mistake. And that is definitely. I'm etching it into my mind now. Another one that did that, which I still just couldn't have bought because I don't have any chart history or what I also call success history. Personal success history. Personal history of being successful with a certain sort of chart formation or strategy or method or anything in my life. Right. For that matter, like if I'm not personally successful, you always have to take the risk and take the plunge initially. Right. But still though, I don't have any like personal or any like anecdotal, you know, second hand success chart history. Like for everybody who bought these setups here. I've never seen any of you guys ever buy setups like this before. Like, you know, Ariel, which, I mean, kudos. He has amazing bongs right now open. I've never seen him buy those before. Mind you, he buys stocks every, every day. There aren't days where he doesn't very few days or shorts. So he's very active and as am I, slightly less active. But still though, I just don't have that history. And I'm probably ultimately a little bit more conservative in my thought and approach on this, on this subject. But I've learned a lot from it. And I kick myself in the butt. And I'll bake it into my process so that if we ever see this again, I know what to look for. I was looking for these kind of these left side peak breaches. Like here. Like this is a clearly left side peak 85. Look at Oklo, which I actually caught these and made some money. Like it did come down and it did, you know, bounce like for a day or so back through it being like, you know, whatever, a couple shekels. But like they're. They set up. It's like a delayed unr. Yeah, it's. It's gotta learn from it and kind of move on. But now it's like what do you do? Now they're just running. What do you do? I mean like there's no. No side. So if I look at like stocks that made like really big moves in the past. Like let's look at MSTR. Like I think in like 2023, really like iron some of the others. Okay, here. All right.
Uhoh.
Too far. Okay. So MSTR is kind of grinding out. Grinding out, makes this big move down and then it should have triggered a double top short sale. It kind of did. It like blew off its top. And this is, this is what I could expect in a Palantir where it gives you kind of a three or four day down move that it finds support on the rising 10. And then it gives us this little flag and then it goes right. Like that's what I would be looking for as a long in a Palantir or as a long mstr as a long in any of these leading names right now. So I think the immediate trade sequence is going to be some sort of, you know, weak at max down movement, allowing the faster moving averages to catch up like we saw here in mstr. And then we get this tight formation, preferably under the line so that we get a unr and then we just rock. And so let's look at Palantir now. Like how easy is it to imagine that, right? Like it just makes sense where you kind of get a breach and fail. It pulls back down, it undercuts the line, undercuts the line, find support on the Rising 10, creates a little flag and goes right like that to me is the idea which still keeps Ashton into the trade. He'll have a little bit of pain over the next week. Still keeps him in the trade. It gives, it gives some relief to the move because it is literally up 100 in, in just a couple of weeks. And then it allows things to consolidate for a Press higher. Hopefully coinciding with the indexes. Like, I'm sorry, Palantir is just not gonna, like, moon shoot if the queues reject the 200. But I almost see the same thing happening over here, which I probably should be looking at. It's like, I kind of see the same thing here where the Q's kind of hit 500, which is the highest moving average kind of fail. Come back down. Now. How far down do they go? I don't know. Hopefully just flag and we go higher because I make way more money long than I do being short. And then we kind of go from there. But, like, current state of affairs are this. We just had a huge, huge seller. Sharpest we've ever seen. We just had one of the. Probably the sharpest snapbacks we've ever seen. Okay, where do we go from that? Do we consolidate some, or do we just continue up? All logic says we have to consolidate, and for that to happen, we need to pull back down and then go up, down, up, down, up. Let all the moving averages straighten out, give us setups that we can actually be actionable on. So her long story short. Yes. Core weave. It just acted like a. That's all. Just acted like a. Don't beat yourself up on it. Let's wait for the continuation setup, because all these meaningful moves have multiple legs, and, you know, we want to see that initial leg hope. Hopefully, though, the bottom effect, like that bottom first snapback wasn't the first leg. We're already into leg two, which, I mean, we kind of are. You know, it's not like a hard rule where it's like, the stock could have three legs, but. Yeah, I mean, these stocks have made incredible moves recently, and they're all running into. All running into resistance. Yeah. All right, let me look back at the chat, see if anybody has any other questions. Zen. What up, player?
What's up, brother? How we doing?
What's up, dude?
I. I guess I had a question just on your process generally. So I. I'm just kind of taking a broad view on. On momentum and themes generally. I. I guess I. I wanted to kind of start out with explaining kind of my process, and then I was curious as. As to if you use some of the same principles, just so I know I'm. I'm on the right track with stuff. So my biggest trades have come from, like, strong themes.
Right.
And so I've noticed this throughout, you know, the COVID market, 2024, any strong bull market has in terms of themes. Like, if you think about COVID we had the two strong. I always look for strong large cap names for, for any strong theme because I feel like you need to have that large cap mover in order to spark the small cap market in terms of themes. Like for example, with the COVID stocks you had like MRNA and then PFP running crazy. And so as a result you had a lot of COVID stocks making outsized moves in the small cap realm. And the same thing with I like we had like bb. I go crazy while Nvidia was moving and the trade generally. Right. And so I guess my question is like, do you. So for me it's, I need, I need like fundamental tailwinds, you know, from either a sector being, you know, relevant. Like. So, and I'm kind of bringing this up because we, I know we had a conversation last night and about robotics and kind of what we need to see with that. So I was curious just like what you would need to see. Like, do you need to see that, that first, like big like Tesla Move, for example, on the robotics news for just to kind of spark that theme or what, what would you be looking for in terms of like the large cap name, if that makes sense to, to spark the small caps? Because I've been looking at these names and I, I built out my, my own robot ETF last night just to look at all the charts that held the 200 day as the ones I want to focus in the event that we get a nice move. And those were pdyn, rr, mbot, and then Wolf was just like the potential squeezer. So I added that one too. But I was curious like as to what you need to see fundamentally to kind of give you more or put your eyes on it more. Because obviously we know that, you know, you need the technical setup first, but I think that the fundamental side of things is important too. And I know you have a good understanding of that. So I was just curious as long winded.
So you're as, I mean, like a way to ask the question more succinctly would be like, do you need a large cap head of the snake?
Correct.
Yeah. The answer is no.
You don't think so?
It doesn't play into my process at all. I mean, look at like quantum, right? Like it just, it doesn't really play, play into it. Like everybody on Earth knows that Tesla is going to be the robotics leader, at least in the U.S. right? And so I mean like if we start one, like, like my system doesn't involve that thought process, my new investor mindset that I'm to trying, trying to curate and build a system for does start to, you know, ask questions, big questions and kind of piece those things together. But for me, I scan every day. My scan is the same scan, it produces different results. The scan over a period of time is the opportunity set. As I go through the scan, I pick up on patterns, I pick up on names that stay within the scan scan. I start to understand what names are running. Similarly, I start seeing chart theme well before I ever seen see narrative theme. Chart theme precedes narrative theme. Because institutions accumulate before they run media. They must accumulate first and then they start marketing, Marketing, they start pumping. So charts, themes always happen before narrative themes always right. So I see them appear in my skin. That's why it's so important to have one scan of focus. And it needs more sideways. And if you do it naturally, if you just go through the repetition every single night, looking through your scan, you will just see that. And this is the biggest miss that I had last year was Quantum and Quant. And this is going to sound staggering, but knowing what I know, and this is why I got so aggressive on the robo turds. But I do have a. There was a big blunder there and a big oversight and it was me getting ahead of myself a little bit. Thank God I didn't have larger positions that would really suck. But if I would have caught Quantum, knowing what I know now, it would have been a 50 million dollar gain for my account. It would have moved my account hundreds of percent with conviction. And Quantum was the cleanest theme of all time. I know there was the weed theme, you know, a couple years back, but Quantum overall and the ambiguity of it and the lack of understanding and the fact that it was literally based on a single word, that nobody knew what the it even was, gave it so much linearity and, and mirroring amongst the names that made it just such a tremendous move, you know. But to answer your question, no, I do not need, I do not need to see some, you know, the head of the snake, large cat to lead the way. I don't need to see that at all. Oftentimes those names don't hit my scan because they don't meet the average percent true range requirement. So I don't even see them. I don't even know that they exist. The only reason that many of the names are hitting my scan right now is just due to the volatility of the marketplace. You know, here when things settle and normalize, I won't see Meta again. I won't See Microsoft again. I won't see these names again until earnings and I pull up my earning scans. So I have like earnings, you know, here. But yeah. No. The answer is no. And it's very. It's a very deliberate no. Because I believe that based on momentum swing trading principles, we do not need to know the narrative. We need to know. We need to see chart pattern theme and then we can dive into the narrative. It's, it's. It's akin to. To Druckenmiller mindset, where we buy first and explore later and get more conviction, which I absolutely love that. That, that sentiment really helped me actually kind of. Kind of pave the way of exploration and building out my investment mindset. But, yeah, chart theme, like, look at QBTS, right? Let's look at IonQ. Look at Reghetto. See, I always want to type Ruggedo. And then I typed the wrong thing. Qbts, though, honestly, looks good. God, this looks good. You want to talk about a Battleship Zen?
Yeah, that is Battleship.
Yeah. You know why achr, like, ACHR is founded by the same guy who is doing all the robot. The figure robots, right?
Yeah.
God, he's such a beast. It makes me. It makes me want to quit everything and just move to Silicon Valley and just start hanging out in the bars. Because I think that me just talking to people, I could get into some crazy opportunities. And honestly, I should do that. I should just quit everything and move Silicon Valley and hang out the bar. All right, then. I know you have all sorts of good questions. What else you got? I'm hanging out all day, too. I got like three or four hours until Vaughn comes home, so I'm just chilling.
Cool. Yeah, I guess, like, my second question is like, I. Well, I guess I shouldn't even ask this because you just explained your whole, you know, philosophy with the watch list. But I'm just. I'm like. As we were talking about last night, you know, the. The robotics trade is just like front and center in my mind. Like, I'm looking at all these names, like your RR, for example, like PDYN, MBOT, that held the 200 day moving average, like, during that correction. And I just. I feel like there's that secondary move coming. And if you look at the weeklies on those, like, they built out some really nice bases, holding the rise in 20 on the weekly. And so I don't know, like, I. I really want to, like, start accumulating because I. I feel like generally this isn't a question. I'm just kind of just talking out Loud. But like, I'm wondering just generally when that trade is going to start. It makes me so curious because I know it's going to be insane once it starts, but I don't know, like, I don't know.
I'm just kind of.
I'm just kind of bullshitting. I'm not even asking really a question. I'll think of a question. But yeah, yeah, I want to get.
Back from the bathroom. I didn't hear a thing you said. I was hoping that you'd get it out first and then think through it and then.
Yeah, I, I do, I do. Kind of like I don't have concise questions.
I agree, but can't fire Dr. Luca Tanner. He's unfairable. Dr. Luca is a statue that is built at the base of the temple that is day trader rehab. Dr. Luca is my favorite day Trader rehab member, and we should, we should all treat him with much respect. I love Dr. Luca.
Man.
There's so many new faces here, dude. Ever since we dropped the price to 45 bucks, hell of people have joined. I don't know any of these people. Who's. Russell? Russell. What's up, Russell? I see a bunch of other common faces. Uzi with the little. What the hell is that animal called? Prairie dog looks hilarious. I like Jeff with Saturn. See, dude, like, I look at like, stocks and I don't know what the they do. So I like, like, most of the time I don't know what they do until I see other ones. Bear chart similarities and then I kind of dig in. But, like, I don't know, I just like, create things in my brain of, like, what they are.
Yeah, I, I, I feel like for me, I've, I've, I've kind of understood like, the type of headlines that just generally are going to move a sector. And that probably just comes from experience. Like, I was on like, rklb, for example, at like six bucks, right? And I was. Yeah, yeah. And I was, I was dreaming about that from the hilltops, right? Because I knew, like, if Trump won like, that the government tailwinds from that was gonna send the sector fucking Mars for lack of. No, no pun intended. But so, like, I, I do have like that fundamental thinking I was looking at. I was talking to Ariel and Ariel told me, hey, just look for the chart pattern first, you know, and then build out a thesis based on that. And I think that's just kind of that drug mentality you were talking about, which I think is.
Ariel gets that. For me, Ariel's more like, you in the thought process where you guys are like too smart for your own good. You guys, you guys literally look at all of these things, right? And which is great. You guys pull in a ton of information but it's not new needed in the immediate. And it's natural to like to want that information. It's natural to want that information to make long term decisions which is where your guy like your guys's skill set actually is. But it's detrimental for momentum swing trading. And that's kind of the. I'm gonna see if I can get Jack on here. That's kind of like we were talking earlier that, that's kind of the disconnect like we are on voice get on you the. I think he's gonna hang out with his girlfriend. Your girlfriend. Wait, actually don't hop on voice with the boys.
Jack's New England boy too. So he's from New Hampshire.
Monster. That boy. That dude is a monster day trader.
Look at, look at my MNMD actually just snuck above the 200 day on Friday off of that five dollar level.
Like the way, you know. So part of the reason why Ariel started his group was to really allow people to laser focus in on his trading style. Right. The way that he does it, which to me is a really great way to do it. Obviously he's made a bunch of money. It's hard to, it's hard to teach though because it involves many moving parts. So what I've done with kind of my strategy and the reason that it was built and obviously you guys know I'm super systematic. It was built to give me freedom to travel and to run my other businesses, but yet be very profitable to maximize profitability within the narrow window that I have to allocate to looking at the markets.
Okay.
So that's why we have a focus on high adr. That's why we have a focus on you know, very simple setups, A A very consolidated brokerage layer software layout. Right. Like we have one chart, one scan, one objective. While Ariel, his system is built around a trading office and a market wide context where he has many screens and many sources of information that he is able to intake all simultaneously and make decisions and good decisions and balance range, risk and do all these other things. Ariel is a hybrid between a portfolio manager and a momentum swing trader. Me, I am a pure momentum swing trader, right? So those are like, that's like the core difference where he's set up for very like I think he's set up to, to make a ton of money long Term and the larger his account becomes, the more important the larger picture becomes. But I think that you can make $100 million without knowing anything at all about the larger picture. And I think that you could make it much faster than if you did. Now the issue though becomes much like day traders is like they're like rich children essentially. Like they make a ton of money day trading relative to where they were before, but yet they know nothing about the actual world. They know nothing about the next step. So like when they try to transition and scale accounts, they have no idea what they are doing because all they've done was scout moves. They know momentum, they know, but they know the patterns better than anybody else. But they don't have balls to hold at all. Like they can't hold stocks. Like they can't slow down, they can't not click the button. That's why the 30 EMA magic kind of strategy exists more. So it's, it's a way to like get into the, the routine and the mindset of swing trading, but it still allows you to not like carry overnight, res, sell the same day, etc. You know, like Tanner. Tanner is extremely talented at analyzing companies and where they may be long term. He can break them down with the narrative, he can look at the numbers, he can see those things and kind of project where they can be long term, which makes him really good at investing. So Tanner is very well geared towards investing. The issue with it is though, he's very young. I'd love to see him make a bunch of money because you're not going to have high impact on your bottom line investing at such a young age. Now you definitely can. I mean, Warren Buffett obviously is a prime example of that. You know, people who have, you know, 40, 50 year Runway mindset. But imagine if Warren Buffett by the time he was 35 had 10 or 20 million, right? Like, you know, I think only then he had a couple million. But like that difference, I think, I think it'd go a long way. Yes.
There you are.
What the is that, Kitty? It was a hot dog. Yeah. Anyways, so that's why Tanner's here, because he understands the long term game. He just wants to learn momentum, you know, trading. Because I think tech, I think every firm, every firm should have solid technical, technical traders to position well, technically get people in their ideas. Well, can we talk about the SAE strategy and what advice you would give some of us who have smaller account like 30k, who try to make it to 1mil more specifically sizing Allocation per trade and when to take profit stream. So this is like a 15 minute rant. I'm happy to do it. If I get two people to thumbs up Leo, I'll go into it. If not, I'm going to stew on it.
All right.
Seems like there's some interest. Okay, I'm going to reread this question again. All right. Can you talk your SAE strategy? So my small account edge strategy and what advice would you give some of us who have smaller accounts? 30k who would try to take it to 1 mill? Okay. Swing trading, obviously. So I've thought a lot about this, thought a ton about this, and the best way to do it is through what are called swing scalps, where you follow the same reps that you would for more traditional swing trading. Like your layout would look the same as mine. You would have focused or your triggers need more sideways. You'd have your scan, you would build your focus list off of your scan. So for example, I. Let's pull up QBTS. If QBTS, you know, pushes over 820, I'm gonna buy it.
Right.
So the difference between the 30 EMA magic and, and what I would do would be you would sell like day one. Essentially you would sell by the end of the day, but you would size larger. You would size 20 to 25% as opposed to 5 to 15%. So what this does is it allows you to take more advantage of the initial move with higher size, but you don't have the overnight risk. So that's essential. Essentially what I did with the first SAE strategy or the first SAE run, where I was taking, you know, anywhere from 25 and pardon me, 100 positions. And that's, it's kind of a different part of the conversation that I'll get to, but it was allowing me to grow it as fast as possible. What's, what's really, really important though, I think is to look at not just not. I know a lot of you guys are super young and I know a lot of you have all the money within your life in your trading account. And that's a very different place than, than I'm at. So we really have to look at a percentage of our net worth as opposed to what's in our, our brokerage accounts. So, you know, if you were to wager 20, 25% of your net worth on any given trade, I think that's pretty difficult. I think that's pretty difficult to do. It would, it would definitely not be good for mental health. But say you had a job and you got money elsewhere and you're able to place 25% of your net worth in a brokerage account, then I think that you know, taking 25% positions is perfectly fine. And so the fastest way to take, the fastest way to grow anything using compounding as, as the, you know, through compounding, which is literally the only way that you grow anything in life is to buy and sell and buy and sell with the highest frequencies possible. And so, and then do that with high accuracy. The reason, the, the reason we're all attracted to swing trading is because it potentially gives us freedom. We don't have to be glued to the screens all the time. And the, also the reason why, you know, the 30 ma magic is you can basically follow all the, the routine of swing trading but take larger size and not be threatened by the overnight gap down risk. So sizing I would say like if you're aggressive and if you really understand, you know, the system that, that I kind of preach the, the nightly routine, the execution of triggers, etc, I think that you can take 20, 20, 25 positions. And then as for trailing, we're just gonna hold on to that sucker as, as long as we can intraday and then we sell kind of the same day. And then as our account grows and we get closer to a million, we may hold you know, one to two, three days and trail like an actual moving average like the 5 or 10. But I would like to see, you know, you trail the, the 5 minute 50 EMA and until you get a close blow and then you just rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. And that's kind of the fastest way you'll, you'll grow your account, you'll take advantage of short term volatility, you'll get a lot of reps in and then as your account gets bigger and your setups, the setups become fewer and far between due to liquidity restraints. We're going to need to hold those positions longer. And I can touch on that more, more if you'd like and why I say that. But yeah, your, your scan should scale in proportion to your, the liquidity of your account, your, your, your, your net liquidating value. If I was doing 30 EMA magic, I'd be selling almost 100 day one. If it's a 24,5 stock I can hold it longer because we can exit overnight which then I would just trail, you know, maybe like the 10 hourly. So like if you bought him the Shoryuk and a Hymns, you know, using the 30 EMA magic or whatever short term swing strap, you could just be trailing the hourly moving average because you can sell it five days, you know, five, five days out of the week. But if I were to, you know, start running into the weekend and whatnot, I'd probably sell it all. When you talk about trailing intraday moving averages, are you looking for at your intraday with or without all I, I keep, I keep extended on. Just keep it on for me because the stocks that we should be trading should have meaningful overnight action for the most part. I think I might renege on, on that. But yeah, I just, just leave it on. If you, if you don't leave it on, you, you must remove overnight price action from your charts. So you, you, you can't have overnight price action influencing your decisions and then not have your, your moving average is line up. I'm gonna let the dog go pee. I'll be back in like two minutes. You queue up some questions if you got. No problem. Theo, happy to help. Oh you, you blind dog. My dog is blind. He's old as like when I try to give him a treat now I like put out. He just bites my finger every time. Can you talk through undercut and R.I.P. sh. Yukin. All right, I'm going to pick one. I'll pick one of them. I like Shukin better so let's talk about that one. So funny. So the reason I named it that. All right, so like look, I don't know what any other traders do. I know what Christian K. Maggie does. I know what Ariel does. I know what Lucas Short Bear does a little bit he's a alien. But mainly just this queue. So like I don't have names for setups that like are common. Like I don't, I don't know. Like I don't. I, I don't read books. I don't. I don't. I just look at the charts and really just. But some of the best shoryukins. Actually there's a really good one on him. This was perfect. This is like quintessential. Quintessential actually. So big move up 40 in a day or two. Sharp pullback finds support on a rising moving average purely 5 or 10. And then your buy level was 3,385. We pull up the discord. I can look at the shore. You can thread and I know, check.
Out, check out Wolf. That one had one on Friday actually. 78 move up and then pulled back to the five day held it and then boom.
Say Wolfie. Yep, yep, that's one good eyes Then yeah, absolutely huge move. Pullback bonds where it's not as clean as some of the others like him's had. Another one can't remember them all right here. This was a really good one. So big move up on earnings.
Right.
Pulls back. But it still didn't find super, super clean support. Let's look at say serve maybe that one. This is a really, really good one. This is like perfect. Two days up, couple hundred percent, 350% pullback. Find support. Such an easy level. You've bought it over either you could buy it over the high volume day. So at nine you had a super, super tight risk. And then in four days the thing goes 170% like that's what I'm talking about. Let's go to like sou. I know su. I had a bunch of them.
Maybe not check out RR. The initial crazy move from 12:9.
Yeah, that's.
And then on 12:13 it started to move back up.
Hard to even see it.
Yeah, just move so crazy.
I only have one screen so I can't look at the. The thread or the. The channel in the discord.
I'll pull it up.
I'll pull it up. Yeah, just tell me a few of them and I'll pull the. Pull the chart up actually. Sure you can. Is probably one of the most profitable momentum swing tradings. Tmc. Oh yeah, yeah. Tmc. I know Connor caught this one really well. It was unfortunate the price action, how it worked out. But Dom.
Ish.
That's okay. It's too far. It's pulled in way too far. Too far.
Q U B T. Whenever it first started.
From one right here, this was the Shira again.
Yeah.
Beautiful. Over that tight day. So you're basically looking for a big move up one or two, three days and then you have a really tight pullback essentially of that tight day and then you buy over it. But still in that one day the thing and I bought it here actually it went 84% in one day. What's another one?
Check out QUBT and move from two to nine, like three days.
I think it was this one right Y. Oh my God. I don't want to talk about this.
That one's beautiful.
Oh God.
I don't.
Yeah, I had a lot of shares. That was right after the offering. But yeah, that one's pretty good. It's exactly it. But it's. It's like a variant.
Look. A lot of these. Oh, go ahead.
No, like you should be able to find a real clean one where it's just like two days up, two days down sort of thing. I know there was one in. Not uber, it's Lyft.
RDDT, Reddit. After the EP. After the EP over 100.
There's one really good one in Lift. It happened. It was like when I first realized the setup.
MSTR back in.
Yeah, I know. That's a little flag.
September 30th.
Nothing here. BBAI I think had one. I thought I had like a zillion in that thread. Are there not?
No, there are. Yeah, that's, that's the ones I'm reading out. MSTR from. From September 30th is a really nice one.
Through September 30th. Oh yeah. Wait all the way down here. Further. What year?
Last year.
Kind of.
Not really.
I'm gonna look at it real quick. I mean hims honestly is like the, the perfect one in my mind like this and I probably should go back through and probably weed out some of the ones that just don't matter. This right here is. It's the quintessential Shory again. It's like two days big up one or two days down. Serve is right there. This is another really, really good one. Two days up, two days down there. I thought there was another one at the top of that channel. I don't know where the hell I moved. Ah, jnvr is one dumb jnvr. Ltr. Ry was a perfect one. Ltry looks like jnvr. Yeah, jnvr right here. Big move up two days down and then it rips 400%. The other one was ltr. Why. Can't even see this chart. Yep, right here. This was perfect. It just has those two down days and then it obviously didn't go anywhere, which kind of sucks. But that was kind of, kind of perfect.
Hey, can you touch real quick on the, the importance or you know, what you place in terms of volume? Because like obviously looking at the LT here, I mean, yes, it had that inside bar as almost like a liquid, you know, day three, liquidity trap for the huge volume day. But then it kind of like really, the volume really trailed off like the next two days and even wasn't very high that.
Oh, it's a super thin name. I mean your account would have to be super small to play it. I put it on the, I put it in the, the model book just because of the chart. The chart. So ignore the rest of it or like. Yeah, I mean I, I. You're looking at everything. No, the volume, like it sucks. I love the volume. Dry up. Yeah, like Right up, going down.
Yeah, for sure.
Wish that last day would have been huge volume. But that probably also plays into the, you know, like the further outcome of this chart. It just fizzled and died, right?
Yeah. I mean because a lot of the small cap names, you know, they do something similar where they just don't have, you know, they might have a nice chart pattern but then the volume's totally dried up and there's just not like.
I hear you, I hear you.
It's not actionable.
I, I hear you 100%. That's a very, that's like. So what I said, my, my ethos is built on continual improvement. Continual improvement is essentially. Well, I mean obviously it's what it is literally. But like, you know, places that it's come from, you know, where I learned it from is through like Lean Six Sigma Systems building operation, operational excellence. Not waste, not, not, not having waste. That's why I only have one screen, one scan, etc. Like, you know, I look at everything else as waste. But in the spirit of continual improvement, I made a tweet last week about kind of this thought that I had kind of this epiphany about with the advent of 24. Five, is it better to trade a hymns than it is better to trade MBOT or, or you know, these other kind of illiquid offering prone docs. And I don't know, it's, it's, it's a hard one. It's a hard one to answer because I look at Louis. Hello sweetie. I'm talking to all the stock guys. I look at, I look at hims and I'm like, man, if you know like a small account got a 25 position into Shoryukin, right? You're up 25% on that 25% headed into earnings within US cushion and you have 24.5access and you don't have any offering risk and you have the range. This thing's trading at 11.5 APTR. So like I think the big like dude, even TSLL. TSLL is 24. 5 now. So like it's like this thing has 15% APTR and there's 0 offering risk and it's 24. 5. It almost.
Got you on risk though.
Yes, it does. It definitely has that, which is tremendous, don't get me wrong. But which makes it.
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Yeah, sorry, I won't like, let's remove that and don't up my example. It doesn't have offering risk and it has infinite liquidity and it's, I don't know, bros. Like, to me, it almost. It changes. It changes the small account edge dynamic that you know. You know why I called it sae, right? Like, somebody here has to know. Let's see. Somebody. Does anybody know why I actually call it sae? I didn't create it. It's because. Qualimagi. He. He spin bit. Small account edge. Yes. You got it. Abomination. Is it.
What? Holy.
That's such a good name. Abomination. And then you have. Is that Ice Spice as a profile picture. It's insanity. Who are you? You're the smartest person here. God damn it. Genius. And I like the fact that you knew that it was Q, too. All right, Chill out, bro. Yeah, that, though.
Look at, like, pltu, for example. I think that's 24.7- and that's 2x PLTR, which is trading, like 880R right now or something. Crazy.
That's the thing, dude. With the. With the advent of. It's interesting how laggy the price action is. It's these leverage ETFs, they're. They all settle differently. Yeah, it's. It's weird, but.
Yeah.
Anyways, I don't know where we're at. Yeah. I don't know if we need to trade. Like, okay, like. All right, dude, even reghetto is 24. 5, right? Is regatta.
Yeah, it is, dude.
Ruggedo is 24 5. You. This might be really worthwhile exploring, like, you know, kind of changing the SAE strategy where it's like, we only trade 24.5names, because if it's not 24.5, it's not worth a damn. Pause bot is not 24.5. Explain me that facts aren't 24.5. Why is spot not 24.5? Like, who is the person that makes the decision? And why did they not include Spot? Isn't that kind of, like, fishy? Weird.
Yeah, he ate.
He didn't eat lunch, though. Yeah, he ate the whole thing. I put a chicken stock in it, and I put olive oil in it. He loved that. I cooked a chef boy deed for our boy. Yeah. Gourmet. Gourmet. Yeah. They can hear you. What. What do you have to say? You don't want to say Idol. Damn. Sorry, guys. Because you're a celebrity, because you desire, there's an emoji made after you. Black looks great. Yeah. 24. 5. 24. 5 is why I haven't been sleeping well. Wait. No, no, no. You should sleep better. Cool. You should sleep better because you can set an alert, have it next to your Nightstand. If it wakes you up in the middle of the night, that's your own fault. You're there. Right? But at least it woke you up in the middle of night. At least you got to sleep like pre ionq. So, like, ionq wasn't 24. 5 and it, like Ionq Hughes rip was like coinciding with the 24.5kind of rollout. And I don't know, I feel like. I don't know, 24. 5 truly is a. Is a. Is going to change charts forever. The shape of charts forever. Truly. I know they've been saying charts have been trading the same for, you know, whatever, 100 years, but they didn't have 20, 24.
Five.
Now they do. And it's going. That, that's a. That's a. That's a real change. Is it a dinner? All right, when you. When do you want to go? You're hungry now? No, no, I have any. What, do you smoke a weed? Talking to the boys about.
Stop.
It's three o' clock now. You want about four? You want to leave him? 20 minutes? All right, 20 minutes, boys. Let's do this. I got 22 minutes. I just. He needs. I just let him go pee. Yeah, he took a. Yeah, all right. Excuse me.
Yes, that I was gonna say. I mean, is it really changing anything, though? Because like, you, you already had like gap ups and gaps, gap downs to begin with. So this is just allowing you to trade those overnight to manage your risk. I don't know if there's necessarily like a difference. You know what I mean? It's like if Tesla's. If Tesla's gapping, you know, five points, right? Like that just allows you to trade that right overnight versus like just accepting the risk and getting crushed, you know? Do you understand what I'm saying?
Yeah, no, no, I do, I do. I do. I wonder though, if it. And that's, that's. Those are like the things that we should hop on and talk about and think through. I think that these are really important things to think through. But then also people can sell too. I don't know, does it, does it change it? That's a great question.
I, I think if you have like 24 hour open market, like versus like after hours volume, you know what I mean? Like, so, so let's say like, I think there was a new stock exchange, it was going to open soon with like blackrock or some in Texas or that's. I read, I read that somewhere that's opening like next year and it's gonna be 24. 5, like, open all the time. Like, if that opens. That would be interesting to see. Like, how. Char.
I've taken $20 million positions overnight in some stocks before. Maybe not that much, but many, many, many millions of dollar positions. So it all depends what you trade. The problem with 24. 5 is you don't see the tape. Like, there's no tape. There's no, like, prints going through. Like, L2. It doesn't work. So you're kind of for me, you know, coming as a day trader, I always have tape up. I have to see tape. So it's kind of weird, but there's definitely been times where I bought 10, 20, 000 shares of Tesla in the overnight section, and then. Yeah, no, I. Time will tell. But I wonder if it constricts volatility.
That's.
And we make our money out of volatility. And if, and if, and if the largest gains historically happen in the gap, what does that do? Will that push? Like, what does that do? I don't, I don't know. Time will tell. All right, any other charts? We're talking about 20 minutes.
Look at GME. GME is super interesting because it had that. No, what do you mean, it had that? They had that. They're earning. They bombed their earnings, right? And it completely rallied back, like, and it's just building a going sideways here right at that trend line. You can't tell me that's not interesting.
It's not. I'm sorry.
Like, if bitcoin.
If they announced, like, he's more interesting. Look, you want to talk about codes that are more interesting? This one's more interesting.
Yeah, I, I don't know. I just, I feel like this GME is just due for a big move soon.
All right, well, I, I, I just don't. All right, look, I can boil it down to this. I just don't see anything. I mean, like, I see this big, you know, behemoth of a monstrosity of a range. But can we just focus on that? Like, actually, like, looks great.
Well, it's a bitcoin name, too, though. Now, that's what I'm saying is, like, it's, it's. It's mini mstr. That's what it is.
Now, you cannot be clogging the airways with that. All right, let's see. Wait, why is my scan doing this?
Oh, it's like.
All right, Bo, we're just going to run through the scan real quick. All right, guys, you want to see how I run through a scan? I'M going to actually just do it. This is how I do it. Get the. That's it. When something catches my eye. Go back to it. I know I showed emo this once and he like kind of lost his. Now the strong ones are at the top. Oh yeah. But yeah, I usually go through it like that. Probably not very difficult.
That's crack, dude.
Anyways, I don't really see anything unfortunately. So this is my watch list headed into Monday. I have Amazon. I have this little flag. I have an alert. Well, I'm going sound alert. I just really don't want to buy anything this week in my account. I'll probably be doing all sorts of gymnastics in the small account. This one, I want to shorten the small account. I it up so bad. Oh it's so annoying. I shorted it I think here and then I came back and I was wicked out and look at this. Oh, it's so frustrating. 20%. I think I was full court too. WW another one dude. Like they just been doing me so wrong.
I caught the lung on that one. That was sick.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well my well being.
That's actually a perfect example of what I was talking about earlier with like large cap gets gets news and small cap like follows that like him's got the GLP1 news and then like weight watchers same day 100 move for like.
Sympathy plays and things like that. But I mean that's what I mean. Yeah, you want to build it into your strategy and like I like do it but like for me it's just, it's too complex and if I need that sort of comp, like maybe that'll help like for convince so I can compartmentalize my thinking in to. I have, I have mandatory requirements and then I have bonus points. So like that could go into the bonus point section where you kind of see, you know, you see that correlation and then like that gives you extra conviction. Like that that's like conviction points. You could coin them but these are things that should go into your system where like you have these minimum requirements and if those minimum requirements met and it triggers you take the trade. It's that binary. But the conviction points are what allow you to take more size. So if you have no extra conviction points, you're taking normal size. But then if you have that extra conviction point where you see hims going. Right. Like it may allow you to take an extra bump in position size. Right. But this exact same thing happened. I shorted here. I got caught in the clear out and then look at it. Like, literally it's down 50%. Like, oh, man. Like, I know my. My small account edge. Like, I'm obviously being super transparent with you guys and it looks terrible, but if I were to just actually catch that swing of executions properly, the account would be up over 100% now. Like, I would already be up, you know, close to that 600, 000 level, and hopefully that would. Well, if I was at the 600, 000 level, then I would have about $2 million in buying power. I would probably. If. If Palantir triggered, I would take a million dollar position short and scoop up probably a 10 or 20 gain. That would then put me to like 800,000. Then I would have, you know, 3.2 million in buying power. Power. And then I would just sit and wait for the next longs. And then I would take that 3 million and I would split that up probably into about four longs. Like, I could seriously see myself, you know, catching. If I caught a good market environment, I bet I can get it 10 million in like six months. Now I just jake myself now. I'm gonna blow this thing up. But yeah, that's kind of. That's kind of how I view it. I can't be this nimble with.
With.
With the other account.
But.
That'S. That's kind of where I'm at. But at least it's. At least it's even. Actually. Yeah, let me share my screen. I'm going to look at that real quick, and then I got to go. I got like 13 minutes, right? I'm going to. How do I change? Stop streaming. If I click it, will it end everything? Share, stream, change, stream. Okay, here we go. I don't want to expose anything that you guys can't see. All right, let me pull it up because I want to go over, like, the SAE tracker thing. For those of you don't know, I live in spreadsheets. Like, quite literally a part of me. Everything I like. Like, some people pull out, like, Word documents and stuff. I go to a spreadsheet. I don't even like people that type in Word documents. I know Tanner is probably not gonna like, oh, here it is. All right, sick. I go live. All right. Can you see it? Oh, you can see all my other stuff.
Whatever.
I'm gonna hide my bookmark so you can't see all my porn stuff. Oh, somebody's recording this. All right, whatever. I'm all right. So as you can tell, I've sucked. I think I had one day that was decent yeah, My height was 351, which is actually pretty decent. So the way this is set up is essentially I enter my end of day balance here. It should be like the 8pm balance. Sometimes I'll type tape it throughout the day, but then it like will show me up top my net liquid, my total P, L where my basically new minus old divided by old. So my, my current P L, my max, what was the height? So it's just max of column, I think E and then my drawdown. So currently from high I'm drawing down 11%, which is disgusting. Then I got the stats table, which is cool. Kind of tells you your start date. Obviously current day. The, the trading days. Linear days are just like, obviously this. Linear days like. And then trading days are days that we're able to trade. Starting balance was 300, current balance. And then I have a couple forecasts down here. So if you ever see a cell on my spreadsheets that are white, that means that they're formulaic and if they're a different color, that means that you can like change the input. So based on my current growth rate, which is 0.4% per day in 252 days, my forecasted P&L is 400 or 252 trading days is 10 million. Which is actually kind of funny.
Because.
There'S 252 traded days in a year. So if I changed my. Let's see if I bumped it up to 5%. Where's the calculator? Okay. Right here. Max. Oh, that's the max gain. I'm sorry, that's the max. That's where I was at the 350. At my current rate, in 252 days I would be at 725,000. Let's see if I can pull up the original. Let's see if I can find the original one. I don't even know where it is. The original one was something stupid. It was like the first go around. It was. I don't know, I think I went from like 400,000 to 4 million in 90 days or something. Yeah. But anyways, I really need to, to pick it up here. But it won't, won't take much. So there's my equity curve, which looks like one of those stocks my mom bought. Here's a risk to reward calculator, which is cool. Any of you guys, you guys can copy this too. You just click file and then make a copy. And make your own copy. I know Connor made his own copy and he's. He's using it on a daily basis. It just kind of keeps you grounded. This is the. This is a visual representation of the dory of the. The traveling chess master in India, which is really cool. I can tell that at some other time. But it has to do with compounding in a chessboard. And then this is just a linear compounding calculator. So I like, whenever I feel like I like I'm oversizing or.
Just kind.
Of acting out of my system, I look at this table in particular. And if I just treat the growth of my account as stair steps with 20% goals, that means that I only need 20, 20, 20 goals or 20, 20 stairs to get to 10 million bucks. So I have to grow my account 20, 20 times, which is a manageable thing to think about. So, like, you guys could. This is tied to the P L log, so it's always going to update. But you guys could make a copy copy of this and type in whatever number you wanted, right? So you could type in, I don't know, let's just say 25,000. That's what you started with. So if you were to do that to get to a million bucks, it's 21 20% trades. So if you're taking, you know, 20 to 25% positions, you know, over the course of a year, if, like, if you set a rule for yourself that you're not going to add any stock to your trigger list that is not capable of making a 20% move, it does not make it to your list, right? Like, okay, now all of a sudden, you ingrained your system with the compounding table, right? So it's like, I'm always looking for, can this Stock Make a 20% move? You could change it. You could be like, yo, can this stock make 100% move? Okay, because 25,000, a hundred percent or 100 moves just, I don't know, 10 times, you're at 12 million bucks, right? So you have to find literally 10, one box that are capable of making 100 moves and focus on that. You know, if your account is a hundred thousand dollars, it's. It's hard to do. It's easier to do with smaller position sizing because then you can actually let the chart work. But if you found stocks that are capable of making these moves and then built your system around it, you could then, you know, really, really, really focus on compounding, because ultimately that is the focus. That's the end of it all. That is the purpose of why we do this. Because there is nearly relative to any amount of Money that we will ever have in our lives. There is infinite liquidity in the stock market, so we can compound to the moon and beyond, right? So, like, our mind should always be focused on these compounding tables. And so when I lose sight of things and I start getting sloppy or taking trades out of my system or it's not on my premeditated trigger list, I just go back and look at this, and then I look at the stocks on my list, and I'm like, are they capable of making 20 moves or 25 or 30 or whatever we want? If yes, they go on the list if they have a valid setup. If not, they don't have enough juice. They're not worth our time. If somebody were to come to you and say, hey, look, I got a great job for you. I'm gonna pay you $1 an hour. You're gonna be like, nah, nah, nah, nah, no, it's not worth my time. I'm much more valuable than that. But if somebody were to come to you and say, I have a great job for you, it's within your wheelhouse. You're gonna get paid $5,000 an hour. You're gonna pay attention, right? That's the same way we should be treating our trigger list, our stock list, this. The list of executable names on our list or on our whatever within our platform. And so I'm gonna go to final rule marks here. We got four minutes. If anybody has anything else that they'd like for me to touch on. Four minutes.
I have a question. I have a question. So what do you think is, like, realistic expectations for somebody that's trying to grow their account per year? Like, Like, I. Because I. I've seen a lot of people, I think, recently, you know, thinking that the 2024 market is going to be like the market every year. And I think that's really put people's expectations out of whack. And so I. I was curious as to your opinion on, like, what people should expect, you know, because as Q.
Says, there's no expectations. You should not have expectations. You should perform against the opportunity set. So this, this, these stairs, every one of these rows on this spreadsheet, consider a stair. It's a 20 stare, a 20 growth in your account. Now, in 2024, all. All 20 of those stairs could have occurred within that year. While in 2022, you literally may have gotten five stairs, right? So you cannot have an expectation. It must be relative to the opportunity set. And the opportunity set should be defined based on setups of which we didn't really talk about at all on this call. We didn't really talk about the founding principles behind, over the entire system, which is the actual chart pattern itself, which is actually the big move up, the pullback, the undercut, the fine support, the reclaim, the surf, the get tight, the expand. Like that is the fundamental. That is the fundamental chart pattern for which everything else I talked about, about today rests upon. And I know a lot of people here listening don't actually even have a core understanding of that. And that. That. That is the building block. That is the. The. Oh, you destroyed the Jenga tower block. If you pull that out, Jenga's that. That is that. And I think. I think next call, we should definitely talk about that a lot. I think that'll help, help tremendously. So to answer your questions, then, I. For my way of trading, I have no expectations. The expectations are based in the length and quality of my watch list. If the length and quality of my watch list is abysmal, I have zero expectations. If I have 10 triggers I want to perform, that means that the market's doing well. It's. It's that simple. I don't need to look at the indexes. I don't need to look at any other metrics. I don't need to look at cut data, I don't need to look at gold. I don't need to look at tlt. I don't need to look at anything else to have an understanding of the health and quality of the market. It's really that simple. But people want to make it more complex. My expectations are, we're America. We're the best ever. We should just keep going up.
The.
The market's been going up forever. I mean, that's like my general expectation, but for, like, the rest of the year, I don't know. It's hard to tell. It's hard to tell. So, you know, in the last minute, I just want to say thank you for chiming into my impromptu chart talk. Episode one on this glorious May 3rd. I hope somebody was recording it. What up, Jack? Jack? See you down there. Hope somebody was recording it. I know Fluke records pretty well, so if you can, you know, please share, share with people, and maybe we can post this up elsewhere. I know some people probably a little perturbed that I didn't announce this in advance, but bung. Do we have anything going on next Saturday? You know, are we going anywhere? Do I. No. All right. Next Saturday, we're gonna do the same thing. Tell your friends, tell your Wives.
Tell.
Your dogs and we'll, we'll do the same thing. So come, come. Stacked with questions and thoughts. I want to get past the point of questions and let's think together. Let's kind of. I like thinking. You know, answering the question is great because it helps me think through stuff and it makes me better. But you know, we can answer these basic questions and everybody will have an understanding of the system soon enough. But it's really how do we continually improve systematically? And Jack, Jack knows the systematic approach. He understands Lean Six Sigma, Kanban, you know, all of those Shokunin and those other philosophies, which is really great. I would love for people, people actually that's great homework. If, if you do not know about Lean Six Sigma, continual improvement 5s, Tanban, Kaizen. If you do not know any of those things, learn about them. Learn about, learn about Kaizen, learn about continual improvement efforts. Learn about 5s. 5s is really, really important. You'll understand why my, my brokerage platform is set up the way it is. These are great philosophies to understand for not just growing a business, but a. Any system. And at the end of the day, we are trying to extract value tokens, AKA dollars from the market systematically. I don't care if you're a field trader or whatnot, you will do much better if you're systematic. So we should probably understand how some of the best systems are built and maintained and improved. So you have Kai, you have Lean Six Sigma, you have Lean manufacturing principles, you have kaizen, you have 5s, you have Toyota, you have Henry Ford. Yep. W. Edwards Deming as well. Thanks, Jack. All right. Without any more to say, God bless you all. Doctor.
