One of the things that I learned from my divorce is that I did not want to make the same mistake twice. That meant taking a really good look at my patterns and my triggers to see what I could do to avoid repeating the past. So here are 3 things that you can do to be able to do that. The first one is figure out what the pattern is. What's holding you back? Maybe you're an overthinker, maybe it's people pleasing. Awareness is the first step to change. Number 2: Replace that with an empowering habit. Maybe there's an opportunity to shift negative self-talk into affirmations, for example, or maybe simply starting to explore what showing up as your best self might look like. Number 3: Start behaving in alignment with that. Now that you know what it is that— or what is the habit that is empowering that you want to replace, Show up in a way that is congruent with the new habit that you want to put in place. Getting to that new habit, you won't be able to do that by continuing your old patterns, your old triggers, and your old behaviors. So what you have to do is create a new pattern that serves you to get to that ideal self. And remember, your past doesn't define you, it's what you do that does. Now, if you're ready to go a little bit deeper, I'll put the link to our Rediscover Your Spark quiz. Take the quiz, find out kind of where you are, and let's see if it's worth having a discussion.
