Have you been hard on yourself following your divorce? Today I want to share 3 ideas for giving yourself some compassion so you can start forgiving yourself and treating yourself like your best friend. And the first one is tell your inner critic to go pack sand. Tell her, "You don't get to talk to me that way." When you catch that thought, reframe it into something positive and replay that. And you can rinse repeat that as many times as you want. Number 2, think of self-compassion as recharging your phone. First, you need to unplug, which is like pausing when things feel overwhelming. Number 2, you gotta find your charger, and that could be you doing something that is going to be restorative. And number 3 is you have to pause, you have to stop while your batteries are charging up again. Number 3, write yourself a compassion letter. Write yourself a letter as if you were telling your best friend what you would like to share with her as she's going through this difficult transition. And remember, self-compassion isn't selfish, it's essential. So which one of these are you going to try today? And remember to hit subscribe for more tips on thriving after divorce.
