Alexandra Niel tells high-achieving women that divorce is a strategic pivot, not failure. She argues that letting go of the need to hold everything together opens space for healing, and that rebalancing ambition with receptive energy redefines what strength means.

You might have spent years holding it all together at home, at work, in your marriage, but what if divorce wasn't proof that you can't do it all, but it was a moment in time and an invitation to slow down and stop having to prove to really start living? Welcome to your 3-minute reframe. Hey, this is Alex. I just want to say welcome back. I wanted to talk a little bit about high-achieving women, and it's so easy to measure our success by our achievements, by how much we accomplish, by how much we push, by how much we provide. So when divorce happens, it can feel like it's a failure, that somehow we dropped the ball, right? But the truth is that divorce is exactly sometimes what you need to be able to grow. It's not about losing your strength, it's more about redefining what being strong looks like for you at this stage in your life. And it allows for a balance between that masculine push energy and that feminine energy of allowing, of welcoming, receiving, and healing, so that you can reimagine your life on your terms. So I want to share 3 ideas. First is that it's a pivot, not a collapse. Divorce doesn't simply erase your strengths. It doesn't erase who you are. It doesn't erase all of the things that you've already achieved. Just like we change jobs— nobody is going to ever berate somebody for changing jobs for a better opportunity for a better way of life, for doing something that feels better for us. Second idea is you have to be able to let things go. True strength isn't necessarily about holding on to something. It's not necessarily about holding it all together. It's also about knowing when to release. I don't know if you've ever seen that meme or cartoon where the person is holding on to the rope and you can see that this— the, the hand is just being squished by just how tight the rope is around the hand, but the minute they let go— that's what sometimes needs to happen, because that's what allows for that receiving, flowing, and healing to happen, right? We don't always have to be fixing, leading, proving, doing. It's an opportunity for us to also rebalance. So that's the third idea. It's being able to balance that go-getter, which is what made you successful, and that's what what makes you who you are, with the capacity and the ability to allow for things to come into your life. Let yourself bask into that feminine energy.
